I doubt that there is one I'm just curious. I've always wanted to play EQ, but never wanted to buy it lol. So does anyone know if there's a free server somewhere out there?

Yes there is. Although i can't remember what the site called or if they have caught them yet. Speaking of everquest i downloaded a free trial off gamespot way back and it gave me a virus
. I couldn't even open the folder i put it in my whole comp would freeze.
Well anywho keep searching because i think there is one.

Leaving the whole moral issues behind like you'd be stealing and it's wrong benefit from the hard work of others without compensating them for it.
Some people have made a sever that will work from a EQ client. It doesn't work very well, it's buggy and not all the game features work. Since it's a free project those that work on it take their time about getting things working. It's not worth the effort. You could easily earn the money it would take to buy a copy a few times over, with the time your going to spend trying cheat VI out of a few bucks.

I think someone ripped off one of the servers illegally though and has it on a site. Could just be a trick to give you a virus or sumthing though.
I think your beat and just hafta buy it.

People have emulated a server last time I checked although of course it really had limited function. Last time I looked in on it they had very limited npc AI and a lot of other things were missing but that was over a year ago.
