Its all true the game is created to be a bussness in a game. Its desighned for people to grief each other so they can loose their gear so farmers can make a profit.
Dude just go to bartz server find the strongest clan in the game and ask questions and you wuill be amazed i played over a year man i know alott about this game also there is a fansite evaryone goes to and use search i dont know the name of it anymore took it off favorites because i told myself i will never ever go back to this game.

well, i left the game in C1, C2 and 1 time in C3 in Rage ... bad things can happen if your not carefull but latly the game has really changed a lot in C3, and im back in playing and enjoing every second...
i think you refread to the case when Finaelelf + a clan (something not good at names sry...) was pking all farmers and such, then they was a Big Hype about some botting and such and someone sewed NCsoft ......... blabla and on and on
just dont rush in the game, no matter what lvl you...
Well i don't think it's weird that so many ppl play L2 for PvE mostly. That's the main part of L2. You die in PvE or PvP and loose the XP of 1-2 hours grind at later levels. If you don't like to spend 95-99% of your time with grind, be it to level up slowly or to regain the lost xp from pvp don't play L2. Or pay to sit in farmer trains/bot 24/7 or use exploits like so many of the kids that only know the two words "noob" and "carebear" xD
Of course things are different for different servers. To get details on how much cheating is accepted on various servers (eg only two 7x players on Erica are known to be non botted/farmer levelled), check the fansite forums. Do not check the official forums though. They get censored so heavily that you won't find any infos about the important things. You are not really allowed to talk about cheaters/bots there. Also those forum accounts are connected to the plaync accounts, so posting there can actually get you banned ingame, too. So not too many ppl posting there.

What server are you on? I would love to play PvE only, but every freaking time I get in a group we have to run off and PvP somewhere. Seriously, every single day - sometimes several times a day! And I HATE PvP. I can't possibly comprehend how you would think the game is full of PvE-ers unless you are like level 40 or something.

What server are you on? I would love to play PvE only, but every freaking time I get in a group we have to run off and PvP somewhere. Seriously, every single day - sometimes several times a day!
