    I was just curious to see what others had to say about EVE being over rated, and I expected the responces would be mixed. Its simple, EVE is for those who are able to put a skill to train and then go clean house, goto work, come home and at the end of the day, go train another skill and go afk again. The aspects of EVE are by no means BAD per say, the gameplay is much of what one would expect for such a game. Let me further my point by saying, Earth and Beyond for example, much SMALLER galaxy, the travelling about the same speed as EVE. Actually, i happen to like the warp drive system in EVE alot more then in EnB, because in EnB it wasnt persay a "warp" drive system as you did not have the ability to "warp" to different planets, you had to take a gate for that, same for different systems. EVE is massive, but i would further say they perhaps made EVE a little TOO massive. Example: Someone calculated that it would take 2 years to travel on Impulse power from a gate to the nearest planet. (granted the servers never went down) Yes, theres that much empty SPACE in EVE. Of course it would take mere seconds when you warp. But EVE presents nothing truely NEW or Unique about a game of that particular setting. I am actually very eager to see how Star Trek Online turns out. From reading the development notes, it looks like it going to present a NEW and Unique gameplay aspect to space games. Not just mining endlessly all the time or doing the same kinds of missions over and over. Star Trek Online takes a different form in that you will take on a Career in star fleet and your chars will have different specializations. To further make this a unique experience, the game will mainly take place onboard the actual starship, youll get your own quarters and will be able to freely explore the ship. As opposed to EVE when you are only able to pilot the ship in 3rd person and will never actually see the inside. EnB atleast aloud you to exit your ship and go inside the space stations. (Which was a great feature IMO). PVP in STar Trek will also take on 2 forms, Battle in space between other ships, and PVP in holodecks where youll be able to go first person and battle it out. Anyhow, my only point to this thread was to read your responses. I commend those who can play EVE on a daily basis, but it is something I just cannot do anymore because the gameplay is nothing new, its been done before and im ready for something new, unique and exciting.

The game already has content coming out of it's ass and they add even more. Blizzard is a company that cares about their customers. They release one game every few years but you can be  damn certain it will be  the best,  it will have  no bugs and it'll be fun.  Another thing people fail to mention. BUGS! I tried EVE, EQ2, AO, etc.. Every one of these games  are full of lag,  bugs (especially EQ2). Only WOW runs smooth as butter. 40 man raids with no even one hint of lag on semi populated Lhane server where I played for 5 months. 
    what makes a great game:
    1.No LAG
    2.Shitload of Content
    3.Smooth Engine/Graphics
    4.Great Gameplay
    5.Few Bugs out of the bag
    6.Big Community
    7.Frequent patches, updates
    I'll give Eve the smooth engine, geat game play, and  big community. that's it. 3 out of 7 = 42%= sucks


    Wall of letters strikes you perfectly, wrecking for 975 damage.

    I suppose you're one of these gamers that need someone holding your hand and guide you. EVE isn't game that tells you what you should do.

    If there is nothing to do in eve I would rather do nothing than grind levels or instances for items. image

    It's been said here many times, but i will repeat it again. EVE isnt for everyone and certainly not for these who need to be told what to do to get next level. Most players who enjoyed pre-uo:r appreciate open game play like eve. Most of these who are new to mmorpgs like more games where they have path they can follow from level 1 to 60.

    And all of you who keep complaining so much eve dont deserve #1 go vote all 1 for it all i care, which I bet you have already done and since it didnt work you have brought your complaints to forums. image

    here we go again with the elitist eve players thinking that they are smarter than anyone else because they're game is "open". whats the point of playing the game if there isn't anything to do? quests advance the story or make it more fun. breaks up the monotony of mining all day or taking flux capacitor zx1000 from station 1 to station 2 for the 1000th time or grinding out mobs all day.

    i don't like eve, i voted on the game and guess what the score came out to be? 7.4

    while i don't like it, i don't hate it. it had its good points - unfortunately, fun wasn't one of them.
