Here is the thing I still cant figure out...they say they have like 70 developers/programmers working on this game...WTH do they do!!! With 70 people, they could have put like 2 devs on EACH of the old Professions and still had some left over!.::::06::..how can they release such a buggy POS?

  • RainStarRainStar Member Posts: 638

That article was hilarious! They are now giving away RoTW with the Starter Kit, they gave away JTL and then they had to give refunds to many players for Trials of Obi-Wan.

If they are doing so great why are they giving away the RoTW expansion now? Also, why did they give out the 15 day free thing to all cancelled accounts if they are doing so well? Most vets I know that cancelled laughed at that email.

My server isn't very populated at all, I see maybe a handful of people anywhere I go and I emphasize the word maybe.

The mouse only thing that they recently introduced is bs. Moving with the mouse button does not work for me or many others and I am not disabled. The movement is still too fast and jerky when trying to make your character face another player etc

I hope things get better for SWG but if not, maybe LOTR online will be a great game.

I got this E-mail and just laughed. I had 2 accounts and before NGE hit my guild on Bria was rather active. Hehe well my last day logging in like a week after NGE Both my guild and both of their cites was ghost towns. I had dozens of emails of people quitting cause of NGE. 80% pfft! I agree with Komeu it's just a spin on the numbers

If you can't look beyond your own nose you have only your self to blame. Dump your burdens and see how far you can realy see. Does that seem Selfish? or trival? Fine! At lest i know that i have lived when it's time die!

And these won't work as well....quests still don't give the xp and/or rewards...what about fixing that first. As I have told the devs, the game was never right after the CU, now the NGE...lol...This game is broken and needs to be fixed before adding new stuff to it. I don't put gas in a car with no motor!

    I have an idea!!! image

Let's all play this new MMO called "SOE Online", a persistent world where lies, decepcion, tricks, and thieves are all thriving for survival!!

Classes available for this new Uber MMO are:

-President>> Treats and skills: Ability to lie to huge groups of people, misleading them into traps. Very effective in groups but solo can be dangerous if caught.image

-CommManager>>Treats and Skills: Increases president's lies buff in 80%. Works as the Main tank when facing mobs trying to redirect critic to the customer service. His main objective is to pull mobs from other games by publishing lies.image

-CustServRep>>Also known as the healer. His main responsibility includes supporting the two previous classes by dealing on a one-on-one basis with the mobs they pulled. Very useful when new content is introduced in the game. Can solo up to some point.image

-BillingOfficer>>This is the Damage Dealer. You rather face your maker than one of this guys. They stun and daze you and rip your wallet from your pockets in one single painfull motion. very skilled when buffed by the president. very good soloing.image

Requirements: Willing to be frustrated. Desire to lose time in a sink. No love for money.

Monthly fee: Suffering, pain, headaches, cursing and swearing. helpless feeling. Surfing Multiple menus in the SOE hotline phone number.

...So.....Are we gonna play this Uber game????image

Typical SOE spin. They're really trying hard now, basing their population numbers off a free trial.

Let's follow their spin logic for a moment anyway. 100,000+ new players, 80% veterans (yeah, right - even the forums are the majority people registered in Nov/Dec), so that means there are 500,000 players total? Hehe. That's what they're trying ot make it sound like.

Spin spin spin. Lies in total, this company is trash.

No one buys this garbage, entire guilds quit when they replaced the game with the NGE.

In a few months this game will be so far down the ladder, they'll need a canary to enter safely.

It just says of the 80% poeple who are actively playing now are vets. So if we had for example 300k players before, we might only have 50k players now. So 40k of them are the 80% but they still lost the majority of players. (not actual figures, just an example of the word play).

Well, they say they had a 10% unique loss rate. How many of those people had additional accounts? If they had 250K subscribers before (theretically) they're admitting they had a 20,000+ account loss in the span of a few days.

That's a HUGE number. But they word it as "unique" logins. Well, if they had 200,000 unique logins, that's aminimum of 20,000 accounts. But if those were SWG diehards with multiple accounts that's far, far more than merely 20,000 accounts. That could easily reach up to 30,000+ (assuming diehards had one, two extra accounts).

10% unique logins = people, but how many full accounts?

No thank you, is all I can say.  I won't play the new Star Wars Galaxies.  I don't like it at all.

I did like the original game and was a subscriber for years.  I felt so strongly that SWG had been done so wrong, that I cancelled my Station Access account.  Now I only play Everquest II, and I pray that SOE doesn't mix and match their devs.

Please leave all SWG employees out of EQ/EQ2 business!  That's all I ask.

I am not happy with SOE as a whole, either.  It all comes down to the bosses, and I'm sure this catastrophy didn't just "slip" throught the upper management.  So I also pray the these folks in charge don't ever see fit to totally alter Everquest II, leaving a long time player with a much different, basically brand new mmorpg.

There is really no excuse for what has been done to SWG other than "LETS MAKE MONEY and SCREW OUR LOYAL PLAYERBASE"

I had my finger twitching on cancel to ALL SOE games, I was so angry.  Everquest II still is my favorite though.  I just hope they don't ruin it . . .

image          Again, utter disconnect between what they say and what is actually going on.   Anyone who believes anything these buffoons have to say clearly hasnt been paying attention the last several years.   Perhaps I can sell you a Combat Balance, Smuggling revamp, Creature handling bonus item from Mustafar, Ranger revamp, or maybe even "Jedi will be rare and powerfull."

They should have spend their resources fulfilling the promises they made. They promised to revamp CH, Ranger and Smuggler, just to mention a fraction of it.

And... well... I suppose they did revamp Smuggler. And they revamped CH and Ranger all the way out of the game...

All the servers a lightly or very lightly populated at best. I do see a lot of people online, but mostly because I play in a fairly active RP community on Chimaera. I miss the old ways, and the old mechanics, even if I haven't used them for more than a year. I feel the changes in the ways of less customization and more restrictions.

I had my characters tailored to the parts they were playing. They weren't uber, they weren't built for maximum damage or maximum buff or maximum healing... They were just built to what they were. That's what was so incredible about SWG as a MMORPG - there were no limits to what you could do. You basically had the world at your feet - a world with an intricate infrastructure, economics, even politics - and you could do with it as you wished.

Now it's nothing more than a glorified game boy module.

    And not even that glorified.

I heard a rumour about somebody messing around with the pre-CU source codes, and that there might be a pre-CU server up at some point, but that's almost too much to hope for. At least SOE're denying it. I would have known that it was a snowballs chance in hell, if they'd actually promised it *smiles wryly*

Still, would be an interesting experiment... to see just how quickly a pre-CU server would get filled up. Would be a right slap in the face, methinks. If not a kick in the groin...

*sighs* Guess I'll just keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best... in spite of SOE trying to kill hope for SWG. If I didn't know better, I'd think they were deliberately trying to sabotage the game. They've done nothing but piss off their player base, almost as long as I've played...

All I have to say is what a joke. What will it take for SOE to put down this lame horse?!?!?!::::25::

  • BreaghaBreagha Member Posts: 131

Well... I'd rather it didn't die... Heh...

I like the RP I get there, even if it is riddled with bad game experiences and people leaving... I'll miss it a lot when it is put down.

What a load of crap.  Unfortunatley this is what SOE excells at.

CU damamged the game and now it's dead.  They could give it to me free and I wouldn't play.  I put over 18 months into three accounts and all of them were wiped by this piece of S*&T "enhancement".

Good luck and we'll all toast the inevitabel funeral coming for this once great game.

I don't care anymore. I quit, 3 accounts canceled and wiped.  They've lost my trust.

The game is just more fun now IMHO.

We now return you to your regulary scheduled bitchfest.

You say it is more fun now well I don't know if I would go that far.

But I think I could enjoy the game and learn to like it if it would just work. When you can't do quests or even use your character because of bugs that no one wants to help you with I have trouble finding the fun.

I dont blame the CSR's they can only do so much but to keep adding content and changes to a game that has so much broken is just nuts. Fix what you have made then try to add on and then test before you go live with it.

I got a 10 day free trail to WoW from a friend and although it is not my cup of tea at least my BP stayed down because in 10 days not one bug or glitch.

I am now trying Project Entropia and would like to see MMORPG.com do a write up on it. the Game is free and free to play or you can pay and get a head start in the game your choice.

But if I could get a SWG that was fixed and playable I believe I could enjoy it again.

    Jyd Soren Chimaera Server

Give me back SWG at sunset and keep adding to it and I would pay twice what it was costing.

  • RainStarRainStar Member Posts: 638

Entertainers got the shaft when the CU hit but now they are even more restricted as to what they can do. They don't get xp when a player does decide to watch/listen to them any more and most players don't care to visit an entertainer now anyway.

The rewards that are supposed to be granted when leveling up are not given and I know the CSR ticket I sent is going to make me laugh when I get his/her answer. The only answers given these days are "We're sorry but we can't help you with that." or some such reply.

The jerky movements that characters make since the NGE.....how the heck can you RP anything but a crackhead?

The keymap bites even more when it comes to combat especially when creatures/NPCs are glued together in groups of 3 or more.

I don't remember buying anything called NGE, it's like a bad Christmas present that needs to be returned.

I bought SWG and I'd like that game back please.

One may also notice that they swept their previous lies under the rug. No mention of their expansion debacle or how about how they lead the rangers on with detailed dialogue of a revamp. They may claim to be improving this game and even if by a miracle they manage to do so - they still cannot repair their damaged reputation. If you lie to the online mmorpg community, you lose our trust and thus our dollars. Too busy chasing the WoW numbers golden ring to realize that there are many options for the players now. Sony is not the only shop on the block to go to and they need to learn this quickly.

If you want to write an email SOE - make it an apology with evidence of a change of heart. Fire Smed, admit to wanting the dollars more than your reputation and then prepare for a few long hard years of retribution. Keep reading the posts, SOE - a quick keyword search will reveal two constant things: Lies and Bugs.

In the meantime, you will not be getting my dollars and I will be a part of any vote, forum or beta for an SWG2 that isn't run by those who would think me a fool with my money and time.

Ps. And please stop insulting our intelligence with your spin doctoring messages. You only hurt yourself and show us that you haven't changed.

    Exactly.

Even if they fixed it I wouldn't go back...thats the last SOE game I'll play.

image this all the same BS were do i start. For one thing it is called line of sight dont add it to the game then make it dumb instead of being able to shoot though some one make it that the person who is standing in front of you takes damage from your shot that way he learns to maove his ass out of the way.look at it this way if i want to shot target A and Dumbass B is standing in front of me when i shoot my gun the shoot should hit Dumbass B and he should take damage for standing right in front of my target. The way i see it they keep maken a game that monkeys can play not gamers i am a gamer not a monkey thats why i moved to EvE online along with over 50 other EX-SWG player if the devs who work for SOE and LA want to learn what a good game is maybe the should try that game out before the keep screwing up swg

Oh I just can't resist replying to this.  We will start with IT'S OVER!!!!!  Give up, you blew it, you're done.  You had a good game with a GREAT name and you screwed it so badly you should actually get a reward.  It is time to stop fooling yourselvs and just pull the plug.

Ok, now I left before the NGE but your numbers sound like total crap.  Why don't you put up how many were playing in the first week, how many at your highest point (paid) and how many you have now?  That would tell us the whole story.  What is this 80% crap?  80% of the 10 people you had left is 8 people.  Add in the 3 new people and 11 are playing SWG.  That's what your numbers could mean.  I know that my ENTIRE guild cancelled their accounts.

Sorry, but you are just fooling yourselves and you think you can fool us.  I pray that SOE does not get the rights to SWG2.  If it does, you will never get me away from Star Trek Online.

There are only 10 types of people in this world, those that understand binary and those that don't

    Lol.~

SWG is pretty much dead.. only SOE still tries to keep lying to people about the game, about bugs, about lack of respect for the players, about everlasdting arrogance, and so and so, everlasting bugs, everlasting Lag... about "this will go live in wonderland" features..

This MMORPG is like the George Dubya Bush of MMOs...

    -Not well liked..

-One sided and thinks we are fooled "There are no bugs in the game, these are not the droids you're looking for"

-Talks about all the good it does... but has $%^@ to show for it...

-It's old news and lame duck...
