How can a company lie that much?

SWG is DEAD,it´s just a matter of time now.

Well I surely have to applaud SOE for its take on the current state of SWG. Such denial is a wonderful thing. image

80% of vets accounts probably are active - they re-enabled them for 15 days image lol

As for 100,000 new players - come back to us in say 12 days, when most of the free accounts have expired and tell us how many of the 100,000 are now paying to play.

One more thing, I played on 2 servers for 25 months and had a combined friends list of over 250. In the first days after the NGE, not one could be found online, and my ingame inbox was full of mails from people quitting. I cannot say if they have come back as SOE wiped the friends lists (at least on my accounts) and all my emails too. Nice move to hide how many vets had left. I wish I could have gotten the screenshots showing all of the 'currently not online' messages. Nice one SOE - completely out-flanked me there otherwise your lies would have been well and truly exposed.

I also gotta say, all you vets out there who stuck around after the CU - remember the LOYALTY reward we were awarded?? (That laser rifle plaque thingy?)

SOE and LA I have 4 words for you - listen to the fans. Maybe, just maybe you can salvage this car wreck! and take a good look at the LOYALTY reward. It is something you really need to learn more about.

But thanks for the memories, and thank you for the continued laughs. Your PR / Propoganda dudes are worth every penny as they are convincing the top dogs that everything is going well. image

Shame they can't convince the vets to return though. I look forward to the next installment in this ongoing comedy.

I turned off my last SWG account today. I will take the software off when I get home tonite and that will be the end of it. They lost me as a customer and I may refrain from buying any LEC games for quite some time as well.

Hi there, i would like to add my peninth in if thats ok,
I played SWG on the farstar Sever for 2 and 1/2 years as a Master armoursmith Known as Fish face. And Yes it was a very buggy game and the customer suport (if u could call it that) was dire but to me what made the game apart from the lovely complex crafting system before cu was the people. It was a great comunity and have never laughed so much in any game yet. What made it special was to do anything, you had to talk to people and you were forever meeting new people but this im afraid has now dissapeared. I quit my 2 accounts shortly after the cu due as i could no longer make any decent armor and after striving to be one of the best and amassing as much top quality rec's to then suddenly find that all you worked for was dropped cos they felt like it was a real kick in the teeth! The guild i used to belong to was shortly disbanded which was Roar which i miss more than the game, because the most of the members left. So in a nutshell dear Sony In thier INFINTE Wisdom from the CU onwards trashed an excellent game and Alienated a wonderful community. ANd then to go and say that 80% of the vets returned is complete nuts as nearly all members of Roar are playing Wow or Guildwars and thats just my guild that i know off?
I'm afraid Sony You Put the all the nails in the coffin of Swg now go lie in it you Cheating #%*tards

from a extremely annoyed and betrayed Ex SWG FAN

ps i did look at it when the free time came, gave it a go and then promptly uninstalled the crap forever

    SWG RIP

If the developers continue to think only for the combat aspects of SWG, this game will definately die!

The uniquness of SWG was its crafting, and because of it the combat professions were able to have all kinds of player crafted items.

Bring back the ITEM DECY system, bring back the CRAFTING complaxity and you'll bring back your veretans (like me) who left after the NGE.

Bring back the pre-cu unique combat HAM BASED system and you'll bring back the rest of your veterans.

    Cheers,
    Jedi Antoan

I find it funny that the first thing right off the bat was oh 80% of the vets are still here !

why even mention that tidbit unless 80% of the vets in reality left and you are trying to con us to coming back? ::::12::

If we didnt F over the vets to start with we wouldnt have to mention this bit o information now would we?

all i have to say to that 80 vet thing is...

    Yeah Right.

Spin some more baby, spin some more.

still losing 60 a month from me smedo, deal with it.

But im sure the dumbed down game you have now will have 5 million plus, by months end

The reason that they said that goes back to what was stated in the DC/Marvel/COH news thread.  Sony is suffering due to a PR nightmare because of all the Vets leaving and giving bad reviews to the game over things like Amazon.com and other on-line retail outlets.  Also, if you follow most of the threads in the forums, they sound like a fight is about to break out as to how good or bad the game is, and most of the opinons stated are that the game is going under.  Thus Sony is trying to recover, but is unwilling to submit to the demands of a roll back.  Looking back, I see that this was in production for a while.  For those of you that were playing in the CU, remember the severe XP nerf.  There's a sign that storms were on the horizon.  Now they are trying to play Damage control over this mess, and failing miserably.  And even though they state that 80% of the vets are still there, they include the numbers of vets that hit the cancel button, but the Subscription time has not yet expired.  They are spinning hard for this one.

Don't you remember, they did listen to the fans.  That was why we got the NGE.  I think you should be saying that they should listen to the correct fans.  The ones that actually know what is going on, and what is worth playing.  Not just Smedly and Torres.  Who both supposedly play WOW.

Why can't they admit defeat - develope a new game.  One that does not have "Galaxies" in the title - set in the Old Republic timeline or Clone Wars.  Make as many good and bad Jedi's as you want and make people have some fun and not have so many rule and regs.  Decide ahead of time is it going to be a fun game or a challenging game an RPG or shooter type.

Then give the current players 3 months free to play, and some in game goodies and try to start over.  I have never played, I have seen it before and after and it was bad and now worse.  I am a huge Star Wars fan and would rather play Knights of the Old Republic than be forced to play a MMORPG that was not just right.

Back when I played EQ, I thought, "if this was Star Wars it would be a perfect game" so I was so excited when Galaxies came out - as were many others and Sony may have ruined that feeling for everyone forever unless they do some serious damage control.

    ---MMO EXPERIENCE:---
    WoW - 06-2006 to current
    COV - 40 Corruptor - 10-2005 to 04-2006
    COH - 50 Scrapper - 04-2004 to 04-2006
    EQ2 - 35 Barb Berserker - 12-2004 to 04-2005
    EQ1 - 55 Barb Warrior - 2000, 2001
Tried: DaoC, DDO, Auto Assault, SWG, Lineage II

The problem is that they can't just do that.  They have to get permission from LucasArts.  They are trying to make the game viable, but they also need LA to sign off on it as well.  Unfortunately, it is a completely losing situation all around.  Too many chefs in the kitchen on this one.
