There is so many things to explore in mmorpgs, i love anarchic futuristic mmorpgs but there isnt too many and there isnt one pretty good, i also love mmorpg with fps aspects like neocron i would like to see something like neocron but with more features and better graphics something made by a big company like blizzard
Fallout Starcraft SG1 !!!
Also a game like WWII Online using a big map but in another time, maybe a medieval war or a futuristic war why not, or maybe something about a WWIII but with more inmersive RPG aspects
There is so many things to do that could be a huge hit but developers keep making crappy mmorpgs about elves orcs and humans swinging swords and shooting bows in a medieval time
What about Elves, Orcs and humans in a futuristic theme? heh we could be here for years talking about good ideas

ummm that post is near unreadable if you care to rewrite.......

i would wanna see elder scrolls an MMO because the game gets boring when u r just running around doing quests when if it was an MMO u would be able to do quests with friends and hunting
X3 would in my opinion be one of the worst titles to go mmorpg, I have played both X3 and Eve and X3 wouldnt stand a hope (though I understand that there are plans to do an X online thingy at some point) and I dont think the mmorpg market would support two such similar games (anyone remember Earth above and Beyond?)
Baldurs gate 2 has to be my favorite game of all time, so I would love to see that mmorpged, though I am hoping that D&D online may fill that niche nicely!!
Actually the online part of BG2 was quite decent though obviously not up to the standards of a mmorpg
Mario World: A Mario Bros. MMORPG game would attract people from around the world. Everyone knows who the Mario Bros are. You know how many enviroments they already have in all the Mario Bros. worlds? They could just impliment those into MMORPG in a professional fassion. If it is done well enough, you could pull in a lot of people world wide. For transportation we could have Mario Karts or Yoshi type creatures. It's only a matter of time till someone makes a Mario MMORPG... however Nintendo will probably put it on a later console and use it that way rather than on PC.
Legos/Lego Creator. Yeah I was obsessed with legos back in the 80s. Imagine the crafting system a Lego MMORPG could have. They've got all the areas covered in the toys themselves... castle legos, space legos, town legos, etc.
With the high demand on how mmorpgs should be, either one of these would really carefully have to be professionally designed and developed. Anyway, just thinking up something totally different than what I would normally like for an MMORPG.
Like you said, you could incorporate all the mario franchises into it. all the mario sports games could be in it, as you said, mario kart. There is already a mario RPG fr the RPG system to be fashioned after. It would be Mario, so i doubt they would have PvP, but you could even do the whole WoW/Daoc thing and have a couple diferent fatctions. You could not play the main charchters or corse, but you do have a bunch of different races. Humans (Mario/peach, etc for the good guys, Wa-charchters for the evil side).Yoshi's, Koopas, etc...
I read about a game coming out for PS3 called Gundam Worlds and it got me thinking that a Gundam mmo would be cool. Of course, it would probably be more like Planetside than an rpg.
Anyone remember Dungeon Keeper? That'd be pretty cool, many dungeon masters building dungeons to challenge other masters. Guilds could raid dungeons created by players.
How about re-work Diablo into a next generation mmorpg?
ummm Laserwolf theres already a online vice city but im not sure if its legal tho but i will tell u i know for sure there was 1 for vice city i think it was called multi theft auto :P im sorry i but i really cant remember everything about how to get it and stuff try google searching it tho :P
I think a black & white style world would be best though. Imagine massive god wars. Too much processing power for current gen cpu's though, you'd need some damn powerful servers.

Good point. Starcraft Universe...that sounds great, but Starcraft Galaxy...or Galaxies...
That would just be bad mojo.

Looking for a real game.
These have all been mentioned by others:
1) Mechwarrior (Not based on the pathetisad mechassault series; but rather the pnp - Battletech-, the movies, and the games)
2) Elder Scrolls (begs for multiplayer)
3) Freelancer (I found this game somewhat boring but I think it was just missing people, that and play outside the cockpit environment)
4) Arcanum (the game was buggy as hell, but the idea was great and would be fun as an mmorpg)
5) Old West (A western mmorpg with pve and pvp with small to large scale battles, posses, bank robberies, etc)
6) Stargate (great show, okay rpg, with the number of worlds to explore it would be very open...Perhaps too open to implement fully)
7) Jade Empire (Would be nice, but the world would need to be fleshed out a lot more as the game has very few locations)
8) KOTOR (The Bioware original, not the obsidian followup - remove the playable jedis or at least limit them).

The whole universe is fleshed out already and theres tons of conflicts going on. Ripe for MMOland.
