That sort of assumption doesn't deserve credit in this thread... No one will take your next post seriously. Why would anyone bother to post here as if they know something about this game if they haven't actually played the game. There are actual MMORPG veterans in this forum who played MMORPGs since the days of MUDs in old UNIX server, and those who spent weeks and weeks if not month playing this very game that we are sharing our opinion on.
I've been playing this game for two month now and not got tired of it. It rather was tedious at the beginning and I didn't see the point of going hunting on and on, but strange thing about this game is it's getting more and more addictive as the time passes by and you move higher and higher in your rank (I've carefully chosen the word "rank" and not "level", because I'm actually refering to something else than simple "level". It's something that appeal to this thiggy trying to relate myself to other members of my clan or enemies. Some sort of hidden real life tension that political intrigue between individuals or factions can result)
As I grow in rank this sort of tension get amplified thus more exciting when someone or a clan just goes blaze out of frustration for something that is not quite explicable. Althought Lineage attempted to try to emulate this sort of melt-down, it didn't quite reach there because often annoying things (like aweful control, lack of animation and diversified tactics, etc) distracted you from main gameplay but Lineage 2 will definitely not follow the footstep of its prequel.
This game might be a good subject for psychologist to conduct research on....
Anyways in this game nobody forces you to have fun... you create your own fun... this will be no different in other MMORPGs as well.
Do you think WoW's quest, crafting, economy; UXO's combat system will be any different than that of L2's? What you eventually gonna see is that what has to be laid down has to be laid down, there is only so much way going from point A to point B.
It just looks different because they are giving extra effort to create an impression that it might offer something different when all it is the same thing with small twist.
I have played Lineage1 n i think it was aweasome, n i would have kept playing it for a long time except for economic issues.

higgs, WoW is based on quests, they say that on average everyone should have at all times 2 quest to do... you will leve on quests, as they are your main source of exp..
Its like compairing dirt to bread, WoW's quest system is nothing like L2, its better.
As for combat, the new UO has actual skill involved, you have a momentum meter, and many other options (interactive) to use while actualy clicking and having stregies other than this spell followed by this skill followed by this one. Combat actually takes more skill than just click attack then watch your guy kill the nme maybe click a skill somewhere in the middle ala L2.
Before you go saying that some how L2's features measure up to these other games, try to learn about them first, as feature wise L2 is far behind.... You all have the same face (ngame), and your armor all looks the same, the dragon riding graphgics is horrid (they stick a little cage ontop for you).
after 6 or so years, I had to change it a little...
Yer Munki is right, the same problem happened with the first Lineage, there were 4 different class types with male/female so there were 8 only 8 different looks for characters, and bassiclly everyone looked the same which was crappy, the only visable thing which gave any differance between characters was the 2nd name thingy with diff colours and the clan flag thing, but really who cares about those things everyone would rather just different character looks and Lineage2 has once again forgotten this.

What you're talking about is the reason I played Lineage for 3 years. It gets very addicting, more so than any other MMORPG I've ever played.
You're trying way too hard to use a more intelligent vocabulary. Try using proper punctuation and being more clear before you strain yourself with trying to act smart. Put the thesaurus down.

You don't "pick up" Lineage. You go to the website (http://Lineage.com/) and download it for free, and then you pay for your account ($15/month).
The game, itself, is really not that good. The community is the best I've seen in any MMORPGs, and it's far more addicting than any other game out there.

I'm just filling them in on what has happened, what Lineage II is like, and my educated opinion on what is going to happen.

I have no doubt that Lineage2 will be a good game.
BUT... To compare it to games like WoW and UltimaX? No freakin way bro WoW is 10x the game that L2 is and will be. You can tell all this just by looking at the different sites and READING a lil bit. Oh yea that READING thing again...lol

There's only 2 classes for each of the 5 Races - Mystic and Fighter... (this is going to severely handicap the game when compared to others such as WoW or EQ2, UltimaX etc)

Ummm you dont know NOTHIN bout lineage 2 then. There is NOT only 2 classes per race. In the beginning yes there is only 2 per class but later on at lvl 20 u branch off into 2 more classes then at 40 u branch off into another 2 classes and if u dun believe read this www.l2.orphus.com/skills.php

Played the korean open beta of L2, pretty fun but even when u reach lvl 20, ur char will look like another lvl 20 character of the same class, pretty dull. I care alot about character customisation. Never played Ultima X or WoW or Eq2 b4 so cant compare them to L2(well those games are nt even in beta).
Comparing graphics, WoW definately is better then L2, at least in my view. Well i don't care about polygons rendering or watsoever, i'm more concern of the feeling of the world. WoW has a more fantasy feel to it while L2 is abit....erm..stiff?
Hmm...no pvp? I think WoW has pvp but its limited pvp. The devs are currently planning how and what type of pvp they wanna implement. You can tell by their usual reply of 'Can't comment' when asked about pvp. They wanna decide what type of pvp suits the mass public. Especially those coming from wc3 who have no mmorpg experience. For me, i prefer limited pvp instead of full pvp, call me a carebear if u want.
I'm not saying that L2 is a bad game but it really doesn't stand out if compared to other new mmorpg coming out. Overall, my answer is NO, L2 will not make history in mmorpg history.
well i think Lineage2 will be better than WOW, but not so sure if it will beat UXO. and as for making history... if its not the most populated mmorpg in the world, its probably only second to lineage 1.
and also, there are plenty of classes in this game, you just dont start out as them. PVP makes up for anything this game lacks, its pvp is amazing, probably the best in any mmorpg already out, or upcoming, but for those of you that don't like pvp, this game probably wont be the best.
Thanx ViolentY for the defense. If i didn't know anything about L2 i wouldnt have posted, running the risk of looking a fool. I have experienced the open Korean Beta and I know full well what is involved.
L2 has the basic components of an mmorpg. But i do not think it will stand up to the demands of the American Gaming Industry and the bar at which it has placed mmorpgs of today.
Really this is only an opinion, i dont work for any affiliated company so it's not bias. The best way to know for sure is to wait till its final release and experience it for yourself, rather than snapping and bitting at other peoples opinions of the game that you dont agree with.

Speculating on the quality of a game that isn't released is just that: speculation. Trying to suggest its dominance, or the relatively quality of it to anything else is just silly.
Isnt it weird, but i get a sorta warm n fuzzy feeling when ppl talk about Ultima X. Ive said it before and i'll say it again, you cant beat experience. Ultima was the first MMORPG of the modern era, and when i say modern ere, im referring to relatively popular graphic-based online RPG, not that first, second, third, fourth, fifth generation rubbish some ppl put forward...
Sure over time its been surpassed quite clearly by games with better graphics and more sophisticated engines...that doesnt stop 250 thousand ppl from playing it though.
Ultima X has the most intelligent combat system of any MMORPG, its graphics are on a par, or close enough too the rest of the hurd, their is a loose albeit time honoured and proven storyline to back it up, the ability to become an avatar, extremely cool and somewhat unique questing system.
I guarantee that 90% of the 200k + UO subsribers will want to try it. Whether thats good or bad for UO is another matter...i guess its time for the next gen in the Ultima saga either way.
I agree that Lineage 2 will be popular in Asia, but in U.S/Europe/ ooo heavan forbid Australia (where im from it will be a dogfight between EQ2, WoW, and UOX.
Ill be happy if UOX takes a nice chunk of that market...whether its the largest is not of primary importance...as long as it grabs a nice subsriber base and remains viable is key...100k plus subsribers in 2 years is probably what where talking about to remain viable.
Ultima X: Odyssey...you gotta admit that roles of the tongue nice.

Anyway, here we don't talk about or practice other foreign religion, we only practice the religion of EQ, WoW, UX. on the final note have you seen My Lord somewhere, I recently heard he got converted and we need to chase him down" <excerp from a Jehova's Witness in the middle of door to door mission>
