And even then there's the question of how much will this publish break! Sorry, but it's a fact!

Look mate i am really glad that you love the nge, but when i see posts like this:

especially on client crashes and lock ups, in addition to the past track record of pulishes from this company. i have to doubt your quote "well received" comment.

It sets a very bad example for other mmorpg developers out there. It says what SOE has done is okay with the players (like you) and therefore we can do it also. We can now revamp major changes into a mmorpg and the players will just suck it up and take it. 3.) It says its okay to release a shoddy bug-filled product and use player subscriber money to later finish it. Why would SOE ever release completed expansions, working publishes, etc when they can just put in artificial bugs to gat players advancement and then fix it later with your $15 a month ? By you continuing to pay SOE, you are saying its okay for SOE to dump bugs into a game and fix them later. I dont care if your having fun. Ok, I read through all 17 pages of the issue thread and it seems to me the main bugs are Graphics errors, modeless chat not working and specials sometimes misfiring. While they're annoying, compared to the damage other publishes have done this is pretty good. No all day server downage and no emergency hotfixes. Also look at some of the bugs that could have gone live but were nipped on TC before hand. It may not be completely perfect, but it's a start

They stated they were holding it back because they wanted it to be perfect. Smed himself actually took the time to state that in the forums. Then they went and pushed it again anyways regardless of the unfixed issues on test. After what, 3 years about now you can still say it's pretty good compared to past publishes? It doesn't sound like they have learned their lesson to me yet.

Nothing is ever perfect. Considering some of the major changes they did to targeting and combat (with the Heavies), things could have gone so much worse (as has happened in the past with major changes like this).

Pardon my poor choice of words. But I think you should know what I meant with it. And after all, it was just me paraphrasing Smed's spin. I think it falls far short from what they promised. I don't sit and look at past performance and then look at current performance and decide there is an improvement when somsone tells me they are going to get something right. I actually expect them to get it right (within reason). Heaven forbid they actually be held to the goals they published for themselves.

Meh, you're entitled to your opinion At the end of the day, it is good to have people that push for more.
While you sumerized other folks conserns the fact that the specials after 3 months live are still inconsitant at best and the heals in every combat situation fail to go off for me is one of the reasons i am taken a break. If i play a game i want to see consitancy with working specials there not there yet with this offering. Obviously from others posting on the boards it is not there for them yet either. While there seems to be no rhyme or reason why they are so inconsitant that is very annoying that game play cannot be consitant. It is not a whine when folks are stating it is not working for them, there are just stating that there are times they do not go off. I can concure with that. The only time i have seen a heal go off in nge is after the battle was over and i was already incapped......

From what I can tell when I was still playing and experimenting with the healing it SEEMS that the heals for some wierd reason are still trying to be turn based and queue like they would in the CU or pre-cu. And then they get lost and dropped, resulting in inconsistent healing. That could be completely wrong but that is my observations on it.
They took a VERY turn based game and tryed to make it into a shooter by bolting on a whole new instruction set ontop of the old. There will be alot of inconsistency for a long time.

It seems to be more a lag issue then anything. If you're in a congested or high strain area, it seems more likely that it will fail.

Actually what happened is that this turned into a discussion, which is what forums are for... You posted the publish notes, someone commented on the fact that they are mainly a list of bug fixes, you and AA defended the merits of them and so forth. Just because it didn't have the effect you expected doesn't make it any less worthy. I've had posts too that have turned on me...
I think you thought that most people would see this as a sign that SWG is not dying, that the game is getting better, etc... Most people, including myself felt like this didn't deserve any merit because it's 95% bugfixes and just 5% content. And even then the content is questionable, because heavy weapons were already in the game, they were just "removed" and they are beign "added" again. And even then there's the question of how much will this publish break! Sorry, but it's a fact!
Not at all, I knew the discussion would never be overly positive when I posted it here (would be a little ignorant of me to expect anything different)

SOE knows what you like... You don't!
And don't forget... I am forcing you to read this!
