hopefully it will be appreciated by real gamers with a very good community, but and this is a big but who wants it to overtake wow? everyone knows what the wow community is like, who seriously wants the main server populace of wow to jump ship, i certainly dont....as long as its popular and has a strong steady population it will be good, seeing as i dont play wow for many reasons but in short it is one of the worst mmo's i have ever played with a community to match, i would much prefer the community stayed right where it is instead of potentialy messing up what looks like a potentialy very good game.

i agree totally, and that is one of the many reasons why i quit playing wow. i think wow is a great game, but i cannot stand the community or the boring endless grind that are battlegrounds.
but i am with you, i hope that awful wow community stays right where it is.....i don't mind if people that play wow migrate over just as long as it doesn't effect the community of vanguard in a negative way.

Exactly what I was thinking. I think Vanguard has an awsome community right now. . .but with the wrong group of people to come in and try to change it, it could cause a problem. Look at what happened to UO. It had an AWSOME community of PKers and miners. . .etc But then people complained and they got what they wanted.

Hardly, WoW has 5.5 million subs and with an expansion due out may hit 7+ million. They also recently added 5-7 overflow servers and most likely will need 10-20 more soon.
In north america no one can touch those numbers by even a fraction. eq2 200kish? guild wars 400k? daoc 100k?
Honestly I plan on trying vanguard but I really doubt they even see EQ2 numbers. EQ is too niche and sigil is an unknown bringing nothing really "new" to the table. Hell their game is ready ive heard and they wont release till months after WoW's expansion from fear of being completely crushed and flushed.

i do agree vanguard probably wont touch wow's amount of subscription's but i do believe it (vanguard) will have more than eq2, especially if it turns out to be a decent launch.

WoW has become the catch-basin for the worst player-community ever.
Let us hope WoW puts out lame expansions so that the WoW punks will stay at WoW and not even think about coming to Vanguard or any of the other promising MMORPGs to be released this year and next.

Does being in vogue equate to being the best? answer, NO. wow has a huge share of the market, but ask most real gamers what they think of the game and the answers will come back less than sparkling.
But back to the question, in light of the fact that there are about a million 14 year old kids that think wow is the be all and end all, i dont see any game topping wow in the foreseeable future.
