First impression - WOW

Just played this game for a few hours, got level 8 with NO treadmill, just flat out easy to follow quests going on a nice storyline..Graphics are wonderful, I experienced no lag( I have a high end machine though..)The interface is easy to use..All in all, Lots of fun from what I have done so far :) , I strongly suggest trying the free trial before writing off as bad.

Actaully, you can get to level 20 in the Newbie Training area if you know what your doing. And in just a few hours too.

I agree with you to play the free trial.

I also think you better keep playing as much as you can, before coming to a conclusion.

You haven't really explored the game yet. Not even close. Then you'll know how this game really is.

If it's good.... or if it really is as pathetic as the majority of MMORPG players say it its, and found out it its.

( AC2, a super new MMORPG has 30k accounts or less. A successfull MMORPG has 100k accounts. UO, the oldest MMORPG still has 100k accounts. When a spanking new product sells extreemly poorly, there's a reason.)

Just get the most out of your free trial that you can. Hey, it's free ya can't beat that.

Yep, there's a reason: a game was terrible at launch. But it isn't anymore. You can read that in article I posted.

This pretty much proves that you dont know a damn what youre saying.

There is no 'newbie training area' in AC2 anymore. Only tutorial dungeon where monsters wont give XP when killed. And when you exit newbie dungeon, you are lv 3 and arrive to Dereth (no newbie islands).

Okay..im lvl 18 now.. still all off quests/vaults..People in AC2 are EXTREMELY nice offering help/items etc etc..I even spam the /cg channel with questions and I get spammed with answers..I had trouble on a quest and 4 high levels showed up to help me..The community is great imo..Graphics are nice..The world looks very detailed..Im NOT saying this game is great yet because I haven't played it to the end levels..but for my 2 days of playing it was an amazing experience, exactly what Ive wanted from an mmorpg. I will definetily be buying the game and resubscribing after 2 weeks and will continue to play, as will 2 of my friends :P

Nice to hear that. You should go to Omishan now (if you aren't already there). There are plenty quests on Omishan and fast way for leveling with doing fetich incursions.

Btw, on which server do you play?

game is alright although i played for 2 weeks and got to lvl 42 and found out that elementalists rule anything the game is not for the hardcore gamer but the free month way fun

  • LebowskiLebowski Member Posts: 147

Elementalists are good but far from 'rule anything' status. All classes are nicely balanced.
Many hardcore players play the game as well. How do you think some players got to lvl 59?::;^):: And lvl cap is at 150!!!

The game is significantly better now than at release.  I enjoy seeing how people still tell new players about the old stuff that doesn't exist.  Those folks should give it a try again.

Jape, did I cuss at you? When? Never. Then why are you cussing at me?

Did I press some button? By 'Newbie Training Area' I ment wherever a Newbie is placed in the game world. Which is always relative to monsters around the newbie player's level.

Unless you are going to tell me newbies are now able to take on level 40 monsters? Hmmm?

BTW, if you are such a fan of AC2, please answer me a question no AC2 fan is able to answer:

As of right now, present time, exactly how many accounts does AC2 have?

    Some have said 27,000

    Some have said 11

Last time I played there were 12,000 and dropping.

So please tell me exactly how many accounts AC2 has right now. Thank you.

The majority of players got to level up from extreem hacks, cheats, and massive, massive, exploits.

All the results, items players got, and levels players got, were left in place by the DEVs after they fixed most of the exploits.

Thus the majority of players who are level 20 or above are 'fake' high level players.

*yawn* If you dont have any arguments, repeat same stuff over and over again. Guaranteed way to make you an ass.

    a) I play AC2, i dont know how many accounts it has. There simply is no info available.
    b) I dont give a flying *bleep* how many accounts AC2 has if im having fun.

But PLEASE, find some new arguments if you continue your whining on AC2 boards.

Again, you're very wrong. There are no hacks, cheats and exploits possible in the last at least 6 months. Some bug that allowed an exploit actually appeared for couple of days and some ppl exploiting it were given permanent bans. And even if exploits were available 1 year ago that doesn't affect game now. Lvl cap was set at 50 untill september and all items before september were made for max lvl 50. So all these items are crap now. You'll find better items in 10 minutes now. So I can assure you and all players:

There were no hacks, cheats and exploits possible in the last 6 months. And they are still not possible and never will be.

I won't even comment last sentence cause it's just plain idiocy.

I asked a question. It was not an 'argument'.

You have adaquatly answered my question. Thank you very much.

I can now say, AC2 had 12,000 accounts and was dropping, when I last played.... and now AC2 no longer allows players to know how many accounts it now has.

    1. I get my information from my experience playing AC2.

    2. I get my information and further proof from this article:

    http://ac2vault.ign.com/?dir=column&content=now

"""""a number of problems plagued the game ranging from Perching Tyrants and basically exploiting everything and anything and people powerlevelling super fast. With the exploits and powerlevelling people hit the level 50 cap. Upon hitting the level 50 cap they found something out. There was NO high level content."""""

     3. Note the part that says 'exploiting everything and anything'

     4. All exploiters were allowed to keep all their ill gotten gains.

     5. I play a game 7 months ago and exploit and get 999.999.999.999 gold. The game DEVs find out, and fix the exploit. They then allow me to keep ALL my ill gotten gains. It is now 8 months later. Do my ill gotten gains still affect me? Does it still affect the game?

Am I still able to benifit from the exploit even though I did it over 7 months ago?

So Xploror stop spreading false information.

    1. In case you missed the link to the article I posted a few lines up, I will re-post it again:

    http://ac2vault.ign.com/?dir=column&content=now

    2. My information is backed by PROOF. Thus my information is not false. I am 'spreading' 100% true information. BTW, the date on that article is

January 2 of this year of 2004

One would say that is a very up to date article.

If you don't like this game leave this part of forum. And don't speak about game of which you don't know anything at all.

    1. Actually, I do like and enjoy this game. What I REALLY dislike is the game company, and game DEVs. I dislike them even more because they want this game to succeed - after on purpose releasing it 90% to 100% I N C O M P L E A T E D.

Thus their experiment must not continue to slowly fail - it must be immediatly put out of its misery. Why? So a soild message can be sent to the rest of the MMORPG industry what happens when they on purpose  release a product that is as incomplete as they can possibly make it. So that the rest of the MMORPG industry will get their act together and stop releasing products that are tooo incompleted. And never again think about releasing a 90% to 100% incompleated product.

    2. Since I get my information from playing this game, and from Offcial Reviewers who have very recently played this game

    http://ac2vault.ign.com/?dir=column&content=now

I can easily say I do know something about this game. And its background.

And most of all stop that bull..it question about acoount numbers!!!

I am just asking a simple question. How many accounts does AC2 have?

It is not a flame, or an arguement, or spam, or trolling, it is just one simple question.

How many accounts does AC2 have? And can someone post proof to back up whatever the numbers are?

And I can't understand why the hell you have to bitch about this game like you were paid for it. Or maybe you are...

    1. You are now making things up. Who pays me if you say I'm being paid? How much are they paying me? Because last time I checked, my paycheck has been for the same amount before AC2 ever came out. I want to know about this extra $$$$ you say I'm getting or should be getting.

    2. I really do want to know how many accounts AC2 has. Because at all the other places I've been to, no one has been able to answer this question. So I have now come here asking.

    3. I also post here, and in other forums, for another reason.

AC2 holds the crown as the most incompleated MMORPG ever released. It was roughly 0% to 10% compleated at game release. More proof is in the above mentioned article in which players, after exploiting to the highest levels, found out the game DEVs big secret.

---> The REST of the MMORPG industry and market are watching AC2. If they see that players will play AC2, and defend it, after it was on purpose relased horribly incompleated, this will be the WRONG MESSAGE being sent to them.

--> IF  the REST of the MMORPG industry and market see that the majority of players will not buy or defend AC2 after it was released horribly incompleated... then they will definalty never again release a horribly incompleated MMORPG. And they will be more likely to clean up their act and release even more compleated MMORPGs.

I am here to make sure the right message gets sent to the rest of the MMORPG market and industry.

When life tastes like lemmon, take tequila and salt.

If life tastes like a lemmon, how about one stops eating lemmons? How about a change of diet? How about preventing future consumption of lemmons instead of just hiding the taste with tequila and salt?

There is game that was relased in worse state than AC2. Star Wars Galaxies most anticipated MMORPG ever and biggest dissapointment ever. Only thing that holds people to that title is SW license.

    ==============================
And besides, like it or not, people do try to "win" massively multiplayer RPGs. The rules of engagement are something like this:
    * If there is a status bar, make it grow bigger
    * If there is a number, make it higher
    * If it moves, either get a mission from it or kill it

    Heh...

I have no anger about how much 'SWG sucks'. I still play. I'm even considering getting a 3rd account. image

I also have no anger towards AC2. I knew it would get better 1year after release, while I was playing it.

I DO have anger at MicroSoft, Turbine, and the AC2 DEVs because they have horribly damaged  the MMORPG industry. Far, far, worse than UO damaged PvP. By on purpose releasing a product that was almost 100% unfinnished.

All other MMORPGs since UO have also been released unfinnished, BUT none, not even SWG, were almost 100% unfinnished. All the others were easily 50% finnished, or more. Even WWII Online which took the crown from AO as the most unfinnished. Then AC2 took the crown.... and kept it.

By current players keeping AC2 barely alive, it sends the wrong message to the entire MMORPG industry. "It is ok to not only release an unfinnished product like all of you have always been doing, but us players will even accept a 90% to 100% unfinnished product and pay for the box and pay you a monthly subscription for it too!"

If AC2 were allowed by players, to die a quick death, instead of a slow death, the rest of the MMORPG industry would wake up, stop trying to drag their feet more and more every year, and get their acts together. "Holy F--- S--- those stinkin' players really won't accept a game that's 50% compleated! They even killed off a game that was almost 100% INcompleated! We better do something before this gets widespread! We better do something before this happens to us! OMG!"

After 1 year of being out AC2 has how many accounts? Why is that?

After 6 years of being out , and having 2-D graphics, UO has how many accounts?

After 4 years of being out AC and EQ have how many accounts?

SWG after 6 months of being out has how many accounts? SWG also made available in public SOME idea of how many accounts they have.

How come a game that's been out for 1year makes it impossible for both players (its own fans) and non-players (either former fans, or always non-fans) to have some idea of how many accounts it has?

No matter what anyone has to say about SWG (it's great, it's ok, it sucks) it IS successfull.

EQ -> 80% compleated at release. 95% compleated 1yr after release. 200k accounts 1yr after release.

AC -> 90% compleated at release. 98% compleated 1yr after release. Was going on 100k accounts 1yr after release.

AO -> 50% to 80% compleated at release. (A major game bug made AO unplayable during its first 6 months. But 80% of the game was compleated and the content included.)  90% compleated 1yr after release. 100k accounts 1yr after release.

DAoC -> 95% compleated at release. (Not counting their court case in California which threatened the future of this game.) 98% compleated 1yr after release. 200k accounts 1yr after release.

SB -> 75% compleated at release. Hovering around/close to 100k accounts 1yr after release.

TSO, Earth & Beyond, EvE, Jump Gate, El Karidian (Asian version of EQ) -> ALL were at least 50% compleated at release. 75% compleated on avarage. ALL had at minimum 50k accounts 1yr after release.

AC2 -> 10% compleated at release. Players later accidently found out the DEVs huge secret - there was NO high end content at all = 0% compleated. 12k accounts 1yr after release! And/Or they refuse to tell their own players as well as the public their current number of accounts.

SWG -> 80% compleated at release. 100k accounts 1 month after release. 300k accounts 6 months after release. 95% compleated 6 months after release. The game is not even 1 yr old yet.

FF XI, Neocron -> ALL were definalty 50% or more compleated  at release. ALL still less than 1yr old. ALL definatly have a minimum of 50k accounts.

Horizons (what are the initials for this game? Heheh...) -> Roughly 50% compleated at release. Currently out for 1 solid month.

Future heavy contenders in the MMORPG market:

UXO, EQ2, WoW, CoH, LotR Online. Plus too many others that are in development.

I'm just a gamer and a consumer and a customer and sometimes programmer.

Ehhh... guy, SWG had 100,000 accounts during its first month of release. This means it is impossible for SWG to have had a worse state of release than AC2. SWG was also roughly 80% compleated at release. AC2 was at most 10% compleated at release. If players didn't accidently find out the AC2 DEVs big secret, players would've mistakingly thought AC2 was at least 50% compleated.

It does not matter what the reasons are for players playing SWG. BTW, SWG was intended for SW fans. So if most of the current players are playing it because of the SW license.... yes? And? It was intended that way since November 1999.

Ehhh... guy, SWG had 100,000 accounts during its first month of release...

And this in your eyes proves what, that SWG is a good game? Whatever the game was sheeps would buy it just becouse it has Star Wars in title. 100k in MMORPG its very good, as for game called Star Wars Galaxies holding Star Wars License its not that much at all. Fact is SWG population is going down becouse game sux big time. Population went down even in christmas period when it should go up that says alot about amount of people leaving game. I'm in no way saying that SWG is sinking ship, far from it actually, I'm sure game will prosper well for many years. Whatever subscription numbers are you have to admit thos FACTS:

Customer service in SWG is probably worst in history of massive multiplayer games.

Game has tons of exploits and bugs and it is very frustrating without any support from DEV side.

Game has almost no quests unless you call fed-ex missions quests. And very often they are broken too.

Game economy is completely broken. There are manufacturers who have big guilds support and rule market, whoever is starting now dont bother with trying to make money from crafting, everything is already taken.

Old bugs were replaced by new bugs, overall amount of bugs is constant.

So here is "succesfull" MMORPG with incompetent developers, non existant customer support, little to none contest and 300k subscribers who day by day realize they are being ***** up the *** by SOE but they love Star Wars so much they decide to stay regardless. If you think my opinion is isolated  check out any big SWG discussion board, you will find lots of posts saying exactly what I said here.

No MMORPG (no program at all) is ever completed at relase. If you saying AC2 was completed in 10% we can easly say SWG was near that number at relase, maybe a bit lower actually. There were bad relases in MMORPG history, SWG has its well deserver spot on that list.

And besides, like it or not, people do try to "win" massively multiplayer RPGs. The rules of engagement are something like this:
    * If there is a status bar, make it grow bigger
    * If there is a number, make it higher
    * If it moves, either get a mission from it or kill it
