In-game WoW funeral gets crashed. Massive casulties reported...

From the article:

World of Warcraft, otherwise known simply as WoW, is one of the most popular and successful computer games in history. It is a Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game that 6 million people pay $10 -15 per month to play. This type of popularity creates a sample size that is large enough to reflect the forces that control it. In Layman's terms, with this many people playing this online game at any given time human nature tends to get a stronger representation.

The first "reality" check was a bug that caused a plague to outbreak and affect people's characters in certain cases instantly killing any player below a certain level.

The second "reality" check was when this group of Warcraft players otherwise known as a guild interrupted a memorial service. Apparently, some dude dies in real life who is a popular WoW player. The people in the game think it would be nice to have a memorial for the player so they log into his account, take the character to a lake, and set it up for everyone to come pay their respects.

A bunch of dudes decide this would be a great time to ambush everyone so they run over a hill, kill the dead guy's character, and then wipe out everyone who was there to show their respects. They filmed the whole thing and put it on the net for everyone to see.

I don't know whether to think this is funny as Hell, or just plain screwed up....   But I'm leaning towards funny as Hell.

People being dicks on the internet, news at 11.

My vote falls squarely in the 'sad and pathetic' category.

After watching that video.... i think i have seriously just lost respect for Serenity and the members of that guild. but most of all i dont think it will be just the "WoW" gamers that have lost respect for them as well.. i think it will be the others as well.... but who knows right?...i dont know.. i would talk to those on shattered hand.. if drama or a few of the other top world guilds see it im pretty damn sure they will rate them lower then garbage and blacklist them.. not that i've ever been apart of any of the end game guilds except for a couple.. not on shattered hand but that is where the best of the best are held... not even skyfang can get that low, and no i've nevr played on shattered hand.. and even their GM hacks his own guild members . All i know is that will be down in history.. but for the wrong reasons.. like hitler and his BS. they weren't a**holes at all. a**holes is where you let them know that a raid was forming THEN kill everyone... this was jsut stupid and really pathetic. the horrible stuff always happens to the nice people of the game... like the guy above said.. sad.. and pathetic

PKing at it's finest. I sure wish I was there to slaughter the Horde. PvP like this puts all that instanced BG crap to shame. Oh yeah, before some of you tell me I'm a sick person and/or a d*ck, please look at the big picture. Why have a ceremony like this in a contested territory? I know that the person they gave the ceremony liked Winterspring and all but so what? You cant expect to go to a contested territory on a PvP server wearing nothing but tuxedos and not expect to get murdered by real PvPers.

It isn't that they wrecked the memorial. It's that they made this video and insulted the person who died on the forums after they posted the vid.

In game and out of game are 2 different worlds. If those people can't seperate what is appropriate in game and what isn't out of game...

AGAIN, it was the video... the pvp, fine... but they didnt have to brutally thrash it.. it sort of disgusts me.. reality or not.....it's like making a joke out of the death of you even... or hell.. the death of this site right now. even though we may not have met the maker of mmorpg.com... i would feel extremely insulted if someone came on here  making a "video" of the forum posts on here then laughing about it... it's pretty sick to me.. sorry but i won't even take a second glance at serenity. and the other gamers know as well that friends online are possible, and loseing one as such making a video about a pvp disruption of an internet funeral well i dont like it. i would hate it if i was to die... and someone was nice enough to pay respects and some one comming in a nd F***ing up the whole damn thing because they thought it would be funny. anyways... all i can say is i will never let serenity nor the members live it down.. and i dont even play on illidan, or even WoW right now at that matter. I just think they hit the lowest level anyone... reality or not could hit.. thanks sernity for your blasphamy and iggnorance to even think just because "it's a game" doesn't change the fact that the person was dead and it was wrong.personally i hope Blizzard takes it farther, who knows? they might to me, i mean hell WoW is getting sued right now by a guy because of a game guid void, i wouldn't be suprised if it goes out to reality ROFL... i guess it sounds silyl to be tis upset about it. But they really didn't have to make a video to show off how pathetic they really are.

Its a game.  It was awesome.  Nobody caused any of the players to not be prepared except the players themselves.

no man : /.... i wouldnt. .except that irony can be cruel sometimes o.o.... i guess i thought the whole video was funny at first... but if i actually had some sort of relationship with this person and the next day later i found out he died, and i was willing to hold something nice like that .. even in an area as such considering the are aof the setting was nice. and some alliance guild came over to screw it all up and think it was funny... and make a video about it none the less.. i would be pretty damn pissed too. sorry im just putting my self in the members shoes who lost this person, thats all.

The exact reason those morons shouldn't have held an online memorial service in an mmo?  That's taking geekdom to a whole new level and they deserved what they got.  You want to pay your respects to the guy... pay your respects to him... not his friggin wow character... that's pathetic.

i dunno, maybe im weird? yeah i suppose so.. it's not the whole nerdom thing, and it really has nothing to do with the BS ... my main point is that it was just really pathetic on their part to create a video to show how LOW  they can get. And if you wish to make a video about crashing an E-funeral because thats the only one that he could have for the members then go right ahead .. but it doesn't make you a "bad-ass" or better in general.. maybe i'm blowing this out of proportion. But i guess i'll just end up getting revenge on such.. heck that is why they made PVP right? LOL

yeah i've been reading the illidan posts of  "serenity now" all i know is with the connections i have to a few of the end game guilds and stuff on alot of games.. yeah.. the connections may not be the best but hey do with what ya got right? i'm sorry but they are just going to be black lsited by each members they have and such. i may take this stuff to seriously. but sorry i just don't like it. heck it even said it was a female who died and that they supposadley went to the grave and pissed on it.... ya know... i know it may be a joke  to them or what ever .... but again.. it just disgusts me how people can be so cruel now adays... even if its jsut a game... and if you really want to check it out go to the World of warcraft realm forums on illidan.. and check it out yourself

that just goes to show the immaturity though of the player.. which the guy on the WoW forums was right... it  does reflect in reality. it doesn't make me mad that they did that.. it just made me throw up al ittle bit in my mouth. and the guy on there is right, thats why half the decent players quit.. *Sighs* ... and if that is the reflection of the real world... god is it scarier then S**T O.o

Whoa dude.  I posted it because I hate WoW and watching videos like that reinforces why I would't get my bandwidth anywhere near those kiddies.

If you're gonna yack all over your keyboard because of some typical Battle.net fools, then you have more problems than some idiotic guild in their idiotic game.
