To all of you melodramatic buffoons, an MMO is not a place to have a funeral, wedding, silent vigil or anything of that nature...  Especially a game like WoW and especially on a PvP server!    Its a video game guys, who really gives a rip...
at a workplace, when someone dies, the people who work there do something to remind of the person. but that shouldn't be allowed because its the workfloor, right? if you think that was awesome, your truly sick.
To anyone who took offence to what SN did in this video, slowly step away from your computer and go for a walk outside...
you really need a lesson in humanity.

For that post, I lost all the respect I had for you.

    Tissue?

Never asked for your respect, never have and never will...  Respect isn't something you gain or lose on a goddamned forum board...

I could care less if you asked for it or not. I respect other people. maybe you don't, too bad for you.
and its obvious you can lose respect on a forum board, because I just lost all for you.

But unless there was some clarification that someone real, really did die, like a picture of a real person at a real funeral, I would not worry about it to much.

I don't agree with that philosophy myself.

If someone makes something like that up, they're clearly in the wrong.

But if someone refuses to believe someone when they're telling the truth about something like that, and demands physical proof before they provide any sympathy whatsoever, on the basis that some people might make things like that up, they're clearly in the wrong.

Personally, I'll worry about what I do. If someone tricks me into sympathising with something that hasn't happened, that's their bad, but I'd rather do that than demand physical proof and consequently be a totally cynical uncaring jerk when it's genuine.

I think this is what roleplaying is truely about.  I would kill for an opportunity to participate in either side of this event.  It would be so fun to actually have emotion fueling your PvP or gameplay.  Serenity and the other  guild must be at war right now.  I mean seriously, how could the people giving the funeral expect everybody to just stop playing the way they want to, and go along with them.  Its unfair to expect that in a MASSIVLY MULTIPLAYER online game.  If I were them, I would gank every member of that guild and continuously camp them.  I mean cmon, at least be a little more exciting then bitching on the forums out of game.  I really wished this happened on a RolePlaying Server so that people would see the fun opportunity it presented.

And to the people who think we all need a "humanity check" and that garbage, please, lets be logical here instead of melodramatic.  This is a video game, nothing more, if the actions of others online in a video game can upset you this much, then I recommend you take a break from World of Warcraft and any other online game.

I salute Serenity for playing and roleplaying like true gamers, and I dont think any hatred, or sadness, or any other emotion should come from this event.

It is really sad that the person passed away, but if you plan on getting a response in an online video game, then please remember that everyone else doesnt feel your emotions, and will continue to play the game in a way that makes it fun for them.

    Yeah, what he said !!

I'm sorry, but for a WoW video, it is pretty damn funny to watch.

    1) It was a PVP server.

    2) It was a PVP Server.

    3) It was a PVP Server...

Are you getting the point now? Right or wrong in the matters of aestethics don't matter here since neither SN nor the funeral party at all violated the ToS for WoW. Now, get the -bleep- over it, okay? I use to play the old styled pre-UOR free shards and guess what? I use to get ganked all the time. Sure, I suck at PVP, but it was sure fun. To some how equivocate a real life trashing of a social event to an in-game event is silly.

Then again, you carebears are even ruining the insult rooms in Paltalk. "You can't say that I'm going to sue you... WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Please, go away if you can't stand PVP, because for every serious PVPer there are two gankers, that means your chances of finding an 'honorable' PVPer is slim to zip. Otherwise, enjoy the game, and gank the jerks right back!

So, the complaint is that some people decided to play the game in a PVP-enabled area of a PVP server and someome engaged in PVP with them? Sounds like a bunch of whiners who should have picked a different server type for their gathering or held it in a non-PVP area (like one of the capital cities). You don't get to invent new rules for the game that other people have to follow when you feel like it.

saturn1234 - if it's unrealistic to expect people to leave the funeral alone, it's unrealistic to expect there to be no reaction to it not being left alone. It's also something of a contradiction to say it 'would be so fun to actually have emotion fueling your PvP or gameplay' and then say 'I don't think any hatred, or sadness, or any other emotion should come from this event'. You can't have emotion fueling it and not have emotion resulting from it.

Also, much of the condemnation of what happened appears to be related to the attitude around it, not to the actual actions. There is a difference.

As I mentioned before, the 'this is a video game, nothing more' argument just doesn't cut it. It would only make sense if we all turned into psychopaths when we played them. Which we don't.

Even from beta testing, players have lamented that the WoW community of players was among the worst.

It seems predictable that some anti-social players would disrupt the solemnity of a "virtual memorial service" of a player who has died in real life ... and then brag about it.

In the end, they will reap what they sow because karma is inescapable.
