I feel your need to play it also, but u do realize that if u keep paying them your fees you are stating:

yeah, so sorry that it still is the only game with the environments, the setting, the feel that we're craving. It is also the only mmo which did not keep it promises, which desperatly makes ovebloated statements time and again about how anything is "exciting" (it's exciting to look in you inventory! Wow! EXCITING!") in hopes to get back the numbers they once had.
Above all, it is the only company that CHANGED the game that you started paying for in the first place. It's as if one day you had a... say Doom3 CD in you hand... then you install the game next year and find out it's now EXCITING turn-based Doom 3 FPS!!!
so go ahead, pay the fees, but understand what you are paying for.

Lacking the internet at home right now, i had time to think this weekend about resubbing and what the game will be like. And i realised my original post here wasn't too clear. Yes, i am resubbing to see how the game is now. I was always a long term player and had a long term gameplan, which was ruined for me by the NGE. So i bailed. (my alt will be dependant on how i find the game , in a few weeks time)
I want my game back. And without playing i can't tell if it's possible to get it back. With the new publishes (due to player/refugee demand) some of the old gameplay will be returning and some of the NGE being deleted. (OK, SOE lie and it may not come to fruition).
So, my demands. I'm resubbing my main char for a month, trying to find a new prof, seeing how many friends are still playing (2 are definately, both very critical guys and they stuck with it, and think it's worth a try). I'm going to see if i can modify play to something resembling what it used to be. And i'll be looking at the community.
People here complain that NGE fanbois are sheep. So, why does the refugee herd jump and moan when someone breaks away and says they need to give it a go. For me, i need to try and quite frankly i'm not impressed by some of the attitudes posted here. If it's still shit, i'll come and post that. If it's playable i'll let you all know. Damn, SOE are by no means a company i want to deal with, but needs must. This game in it's former glory is the only game that made me log on again and again. So, we moaned, protested and made ourselves to some extent heard. Posts on this site have shown SOE slowly backing down. Isn't this what we wanted??
Well regardless of those having a go, i'll be back on chimaera on Friday/saturday and will see for myself.
I'm proud to say that I've never "cheated." I cancelled all my accounts just after the CU and have never been back. I gave my accounts over to a trusted co-worker who had never played the game. He used them and then quit right after. They're all expired now (including my wonderful house ).
I've never tried playing it again or even loading the game onto my computer again. I still have the original games here and am wondering what to do with them. Those CD cases are nice and I'll probably chuck the CDs to use the cases for storing/transporting burned CDs/DVDs around.
It's sad that investment and worth of SWG has been pulled down to the stage of "recycled jewel case!"

We're doing exactly what they expected. They said we're angry now, but we'll eventually come back after we've sulked a bit. There's only two ways this is going to end:

It's SOE. What are you expecting out them? That they'll fix everything and eventually things will be just like they were before? They still won't admit that they've done something wrong!
