IMHO a good leader is never someone wanting the position. Anyone that desires leadership is by default unworthily

Hmm... I dont know what to think of this

    for a few examples,
Ghandi lead the people, without anybody forcing him to do so.
Mother Theresa lead millions with her beliefs.

    or for you movie lovers.
William Wallace, from Braveheart, He united pretty much everyone, he wanted to lead them.

    another real world example.
Adolf Hitler, He was a brilliant manhe united and lead HUGE armies, with many briallint strategies, albeit he was horribly evil and twisted,
    He wanted to lead.

As for my opinion, guild leaders are leaders.
They are able to motivate people, they are able to get them to do things, they are able to get people to do what they say, they are able to get things accomplished with groups of people.

How can you not call that leadership, the only difference is that they are usuing an avatar as an outlit for there leadership rather than themselves. As some people in real life have to way to show leaderish, or are to nervous, where as an online game allows them to be on an even playing field, where they can make mistakes and its wont follow then around in real life, you can end it when ever you want.

Ghandi and Mother Theresa did not want to be leaders, they had a goal... and or vision. They didn't set out to become a leader, it just happened on the way. Witch is exactly my point. Those that strive to become leaders aren't worthy of the position. Since position is there primary concern, and they sacrifice everything to maintain it.

You shouldn't belive anything you see Movie.

Hilter is a example of what happens when people that want to be leaders, will stop at nothing for that position. Be wary of those that desire power.

This is generally good advice anywhere in life.

those who desire power... yes im in agreement there, but desiring power, and desiring to lead are two toally different things.

Teachers? Principals, Id say bosses, but lots of people dislike theres.

But arguments aside, I think this is gona be yet another agree to disagree moments.

So according to Clever Glove's philosophy all people who wish to be leaders are unworthy..  That makes me think of the democratic governmental system.  So most of the presidents of America (or any country with democratic government) are all unworthy?? Just a thoughtimage

    My two cents.

Must of what you said is in fact true. This is getting off topic, but the founders of the united states where very distrustful of government. They created a system where no man had a great deal of power, and for ever power there was a counter power to keep it in check.

For example, most think the president is a "more powerful man on earth" Yet, he can't change a single law, nor spend a single a dime.

Power in US government was broken up for very good reasons. The fundamental flaw that those that misused the system are drawn to it like moths to a lamp.

Sadly much of they had put in place has been diluted, or exploited in ways to give the government power in ways it was never intended.

All and all, it's the best system currently available to humans. (although far from prefect)
