so you are a dev/liar? or a mod/liar? or a dev/mod/liar ? They are all the same thing. Dont think you understood one iota of what Cholayna said. And I believe you meant to say "more iota's than you know" perhaps?
Yes more iota's than known. Again, I speak from fact. You can either believe or not -- it's your choice not mine. I'm done here however because honestly it amazes me the time, effort and tenacity of those who have nothing better to do than relive how they've all been cheated out of something.
So in closing, things are not as they sometimes appear. You've been given answers and again it's up to you of reason and rationalize the truth. Think of me what you must, the zealot, the liar; however it eases your pain but in the end, as I've stated prior, I hope you have enough pride to admit you were wrong and move forward. I look forward to seeing many ingame.

"Rationalize the truth" .....hmmm lesseee history of delays? yes history of lies? yes history of broken promises? yes false claims? yes -- okay believing that there is a near perfect game that does not need testing ready and just simply waiting to blow our socks off is NOT rational. Believing some one who comes on and preaches the word of DNL without proof or any iota of support is NOT rational. As far as 'reliving" how players were ripped off? They continue to be so by the company's own actions. Its not "reliving", its "continuing". And thank you for the acknowledgement of the ripoff.
Originally posted by sevitoth Yep, the old DNL beta testers still frequent these boards. I wouldn't really call them "current" beta testers though, since beta has been shut down for several months now. All the "current" beta testers have left are worthless beta boards to post on.
true, current isnt exactly the term used for the beta testers sitting on their thumbs and complaining on an ignored beta board thats true however it IS the closest thing DNL has.
Hmm...Is that non-committal, yet slightly knowing comment supposed to make me think I actually that your not the same teeth gnashing Xanth who joined the DnL forums after me, but was never accpeted as a tester, but also a Mod/Dev?
More likely your also one of the new DnL Staff stooges who took over when Medic left..in which case you still don't know squat. Just give me your real name and I'll ask one of the Devs who you really are and we can get this sorted out...sound good?
Regardless the truth is SoG was DnL..The version numbers prove it beyond a shadow of a doubt, but you probably already know that so it's pointless for me to tell you again and again...
My position isn't based on how long I was on the DnL boards....In fact it's almost irrellevent. I mentioned because I was trying to confrim whether you are the same person I remember. Obviously 7 days doesn't make any difference in what you know about DnL...Not being a tester does however.
You were never selected thus have no idea whether DnL is SoG or not. Actually even the current testers have no idea what is or isn't in the game becuase the closed Beta has been closed since before SoG was even released.
If you think telling you that you don't know what your talking about, when you don't, is a flame then you're in for some hard days ahead on the old Interweb my friend...I haven't personally attacked you, just your ill conceived notions.

wow. Just wow. To post a complete lie, then blame ppl for proving its a lie, then accuse them of flaming you because of the lie you were caught in is just too....wow..for words. I agree I see no attack of Xanth whatsoever other than to define his outright lie. It truly amazes me every time I see it just what they will lower themselves to when it pertains to this game. Its laughable. Its sad. Its nutso. Its sad. Its mindblowing. Its sad.
And I was on the old forums very early before this recent incantation. 7 Days ahead by join dates is rational enough to flame me. You win!

Xanth,
If you're so full of knowledge, than answer the question I posed to you eariler:
Is the bulk of Dark and Light content going to go live without any kind of significant open beta testing?
Your credibility suffers because you won't flat out answer a straight forward question. Instead, you ignore staight forward questions and bring up things like join dates. Who the hell cares?
Well after having a talk with a few others I think I have it sorted out now.
Xanth is most likely Xelphneigh the DnL Staff guy and is upset about some statement I made on another forum to him earlier. Xanth, I know your a little spooked about your buddy Lix being fired and banned, but as long as you avoid outright lies, slander you should be fine.
If you do have to make something up, just remember to blame it on the PR Dept, hackers or the weather...
I was wondering what happened to Xanth. After he confronted me about the 500 people online during the bridge of ostara event (he said something like "you're pulling numbers out of your ass") and I gave him the mod quote he disappeared.

Eh? Sorry I don't remember this Zorb. I'm still here albeit in the shadows and on the forums. So I'm a mod now eh? Zorbane do you not remember my post about getting a refund? You even PM'ed me the details... LoL..
I've had tons of work at my job and my kids have been quite ill this spring in Ohio with strep throat, 2 cases each now and they want to take my youngests tonsils, adenoids and put tubes in his ears. Frankly with the cost of the operation I've been working all I can to help support this.
Again, think what you must but trust what you know.

still not answered by Xanth. Perhaps he is waiting for some reviews to come out so he can sound like he knows what he is talking about? The one posted here already gives you the answer. DNL showed up at the biggest gaming industry trade show all year, less than two weeks from release, and shows a partial game. The little train caught on fire and all the passengers ran screaming for their lives.
Guess he needs a better review? That one pretty much summed it up. Nothing there.
There has been mention of a beta re-open so yes. After SoG is shutdown on 15th it's been stated by mods there will be beta before release. Is that conicse enough?
There was a 'mention' of a feature packed and stable game called Dark and Light being released in April 2004 so you will excuse us not holding our collective breath
Seriously though, even if they re-open Beta right after Suckers of Ganareth closes, there won't be any time to test, let alone balance any of these supposed features, by more then a handful of remaining testers. Sounds like a typical NP3 recipe for disaster and refunds.
I answered, agian, believe what you must but trust what you know.
If you feel it's not worth it or won't be enough time then find something else I guess. I know most of you want the best for the game and a realists, hell I am too, but time will tell.
What? I get dogged for weeks now called the likes of a liar and a fanboi and now that I've answered no one replies with any additional snide remarks? Could it be shock? I'm out of here now as I have more things to worry about. Be sure to get the plate of crow ready.

I'll try not to be "snide".
D&L is supposed to go live on May 30. Right now, it is May 14. That gives the D&L staff exactly 15 days to:
1. ANNOUNCE the open beta.
2. Advertise the open beta to the point where enough people will join to make it significant.
3. Distribute the open beta client.
4. Run the open beta.
5. Resolve all of the issues that arise from the open beta.
Now, since MOST MMORPG's go through at least 2 or 3 months of open beta, is it your honest assertation that D&L's open beta will actually be significant enough to actually be useful?
Or, and I don't mean any offense, I honestly don't, are you just sprouting of silly "fanboi" crap, in an attempt to avoid providing an honest answer to the question I've repeatedly put forward?
Because, your answer basically says the following:
"Dark and Light will compact 2 or 3 months worth of testing into less than two weeks."
Originally posted by Xanth There has been mention of a beta re-open so yes. After SoG is shutdown on 15th it's been stated by mods there will be beta before release. Is that conicse enough? 0
See above. Your answer, while doing much to reaffirm your loyalty to the D&L dev crew, isn't really, well, realistic.
But, as you say, time will tell. By next Friday, we'll know if any of your beliefs are actually founded in fact.
Because if there isn't an open beta up and running by then, well....
the answer then is no. There will be No large scale and meaningful beta on the features being released with the game. I think they will release the game, allow for a few weeks to workaround everything (just like SOG) then come back and say, try it again. Then they will add something to it. Take a few weeks to workaround it and come back and say try it again. Then they will add something to it, take a few weeks to workaround it and come back and say try it again. This will continue throughout the birth of DNL and well into the toddler stage -- however at that point I do not see it going much further much faster as the little one has now stunted growth. No players, no world.

Yes, this is EXACTLY the answer that Xanth is trying to avoid.
Therefore, if Xanth's assertation is true, and SoG really isn't D&L, then Dark and Light isn't going live at all on May 30..it's going into open beta. One where the participants pay to test the product.

Yeah, really Xanth. You talk a lot of trash, but you can't seem to answer one simple question, put forward in a consise, clear, and civil way.
