I loged in on TC2 and its a blast.
Also I noticed today several posts from Vet players that are actualy like the new chnages and they are coming back strong. Woohooo.
I BOW before DEVS, they are goind in right direction and I personlay think this is reburth of SWG. For those of you too busy bitching to pay attention, I think we should take notice of TH, and the rest of the Dev team who have been putting so much dedication back into our game. The future is looking quite positive, and I look forward to the things to come with great anticipation.
So here is just a little something that I want to point out:
Weapon Damage. This is awesome. This change alone goes a long way towards making weaponsmiths useful again. Don't get me wrong, there's a lot more to be done, but this is a big step in the right direction.
- Combat Speed. This is a tremendous improvement over the old system. The jury's still out on whether it's right where it needs to be, but I have to say that it felt a whole lot better than what we had before. I felt like each shot actually meant more altogether and I wasn't nearly as focused on just doing as much damage as possible as fast as possible. I found myself doing more snare kiting and generally using more of my specials than I previously would have in PvE.
- NPC AI/Difficulty. This is great. To take down an elite I need to have a group now. It's about time that we made it so the majority of the game can't be soloed. There's still some tweaking needed I think, but overall I like the challenge level a lot more than what we had previously, where I could just blast through legions of normal NPCs without really worrying about it. The days of mindless, diablo-style wading through your enemies are hopefully coming to an end.
- Target Highlight. It's not target lock, which I would have preferred, but it does fix the noncombat problems with the original system so in that it's a good thing. I had trouble using it effectively in combat to mark the target I wanted to track, but that may just be me not being used to it. Overall I'd say it dose really help combat much, and it was sorely needed.
- Postures having meaning again. It's about time! I think the benefits for postures should be slightly more obvious than they are but I"m glad we can at least fire while kneeling/prone again. This isn't a big deal in solo play, but in large-scale firefights (like the GCW) it should hopefully make a big difference.
- Elemental criticals. I didn't really get the chance to mess with these. They sound neat in concept but it will take a while to figure out whether they're very effective in practice.

"There are two kinds of spurs, my friend. Those that come in by the door; those that come in by the window"
I am just stating my opinion to the great game.
Ohh yeah and I am not the only one on this forum who likes and enjoy this game.
I think other players should be able to read some good opinions not only moaning about swg on this forum.
If you report posts and whine about them being off-topic, you'd better take the rulebook from up your arsehole - it'll chafe terribly.
If other players want to read only "good opinions" about the game, then they should stick to the official SWG forums where reality is viciously moderated. Here, the genuinely dissatisfied have a voice.

Furthermore -- I remember how TC gets, and a lot of those guys do not fully test out the game before coming to any sort of conclusion. In fact, they play the "ideal" version of Star Wars, which is more or less playing the game against unilateral max/mins (like, say, no Jedi during the CU testing? Hello?) and that is most certainly NOT what happens on the live servers. I'd recommend more testing with medics in specific.
In fact, if I were still a paying customer, I'd go out of my way to ensure actual "live" conditions.

Almost everything in tc atm is a step back towards pre-nge; its been said over and over, but by 2007, we'll be back to where we started.
It's understandable to want to play it and enjoy it, but to glow about it and say its amazing is just ridiculous.
For the Horde!
There is one reason that I am suspicious of this post. You make no mention of bugs, which if you check the development discussion on this publish, you can see many other players noting the bugs they have encountered.
SWG ADDICT...clean since the NGE
I appologize in advance, but I just can't resist.

Actualy this does feel like Pre CU thats why I found its fun again.
Duels now take more time, healing bug is fixed, pre cu toolbar is coming back. Devs hase stated that what you see now on TC is only a prototype for testing and tweeking, but no doubt this is going in right direction.
Add to this remake of the planet RORI that will become huge PVP BG with quests and PVP rewards plus new expertise system that is coming and there you have it. Oh yeah and dont forget new loot, I supose you all see new mando armor screenies?
And also today there was a topic on soe forum about SWG going to PS3 and GARVA with TH clearly to all stated that SWG will not be ported to PS3 or any other console. I also find nothing wrong wiht SWG being ported to console since we could use freash meet.
yeah, as I almighty dark jedi agrees with this topic and im a pre pub 10 player and the game is getting better by the minute

Is that what they call Smedly down at the office now?
I have a strange feeling that these accounts created recently that are whorshipping SWG are either devs or shills.. anyone have the same feeling?
Oh! OH!!!! I just realized what these plant postings are for!! They're trying to capture the attention of the illiterate 8-12 year olds who are about to start playing the game through the PS3! That's what's going on here.

Hmm
I did not create any others accounts especialy Boudewijns. So you can think and imagine whatever you like.
It looks like someone making fun of me thats all.
And also I am glad that ppl that are so negative and with such hate are not a part of the SWG comunity anymore.
Ehhh some ppl.
The combat is starting to more resemble previous versions, as for the thing they have planned on Rori I suspect it will go much the same way as the PBS, PvP in game will remain a joke until the Devs get there collective heads out of there asses and give us things to actually Fight Over, currently there is not even a sense of victory or capturing anything and that fundamental flaw needs to be removed to jump start the GCW.
As for the PS3 chatter.. what they say and what they do are very often complete opposites. Why do I think it would be a bad thing you may ask, it's really very simple, if you have a game that is debugged and working perfectly for your console market would you continue the debugging for PC's and risk breaking it on consoles?? I think not, so I could totaly see a PS3 swg launch followed rather closely by the end of code debugging on for the PC market.

I hope you didnt take my post as meaning that i thought it was progress, because i agree with you, its not. Just want to make that clear.
For the Horde!
no i totally understood you and agree with you 100%!!! sorry for the confusion! Its just so funny that some people who are playing this think its progess when its really regression, i know alot of people still play it due to fellow gamers and make due with the system in place, i understand their feelings.
So you can kite while kneeling?
Dodge while prone?
Does your cursor auto-aim or aim better when lying down?
Try the "crouch" command in FPS, and tell me how long you live, when I come bunny-hopping, wall-hugging with double rockets right into your head.
Postures are back, YAY! So what? They made sense in melee-centric pre-cu combat. They serve only decorative purpose right now.
Regardless of the mechanics, unless they go back to static, stand-and-attack combat, the person not running around will lose hands down.
Oh, and, how exactly does this benefit the majority, the Jedi? They kneel, while i shoot at them from 9m?
But yeah, content is yet another thing SOE has very long neglected. The game is still "1,000 miles wide and an inch deep" but they continually focus on changing the user perspective and feel of the game.
Seriously though, I really am curious to know whether or not the issues with Heals > DPS have been settled in SWG. THAT would be a great first step. Everything else is just minor.
