warhammer

hero's journey

fallenearth

what attracts me to warhammer is the fact i think it will be an insane successs like wow is .. but a much deeper game and more satisfying experience with regard to PVP ... RVR.. and even PVE ..the graphics look awesome and it will attract a lot of the older school gamers who are fans of the warhammer and warhammer 40k franchise .... this may be one franchise done right ....

what attracts me to heros journey is quite simply .. its art ..... the concept art and the screenies ive seen look amazing to me .. the mobs look original ... the landscape although fantasy is so much more vibrant .. and claustrophobic ( but this is a GOOD thing the sheer detail will keep you in wonderment) but at the same time the world is vast and ripe for explortation ...i cant quite explain of how i feel about it except that this game almost combines the a feeling of the colonial american frontier with the fantasy genre ...and im liking everything im reading and hearing about from its website ...

and fallenearth ... sci fi is my true love and id buy this in a second over everything else .. its mad max meets omega man, and it has the best world out of the three for me ... the most original .. the most "serious" and the most ridden with a feeling of desperation and anxiety for survival ... which translates into a depthful good adventuring experience .... the community that would be atttracted to this game will probably be like minded/tasteful individuals to myself .. BUT .. BUT .. im afraid it might not gain the community and the subscription support to really propel this game in the long term ... which may equate to lack of expansions and updated content ... lack of proper support .. and maybe a shorter life span ...

Whatever Stray Bullet Games creates will be a massive game.

Game developers that created a game from scratch, with pvp on there minds, that was technicaly flawed due to them being "green" at that time (years ago), and instead of giving up, they stayed dedicated with that product as long as they could(years), are going to create a new venture, based on the same concept(the player) under there new name (SBG).

MMORPG's are not made for 50 or LESS people in an "instance", its made for thousands of players to compete with each other, over resourses, land, trade, and to defend themselves in combat, if need be.

The definition of insanity: doing the same thing over and over expecting different results.

    Obviously:

    One

    Two

    Three

Seriously, for now HJ, PotBS (if it is finished...I have hope), and Stargate Worlds. But, the list is always changing upon news updates.

    Mine are:

Vanguard. The spirit of the EQ of old lives again. BTW, don't believe the negative hype. Most of it comes from beta testers who expected a try-before-you-buy experience and not a real beta with bugs, lag, incomplete content, and frequent changes.

Warhammer. What can I say, great lore in the hands of a great company with the best PvP game on the market today. Even though I no longer play DAoC, I still think it is the best setup for PvP I have ever played.

And I don't really have a third. I would love to be able to say LotR, but after seeing how bad they fubared DDO, I don't hold much hope. Star Trek could be cool, but what are the chances of them living up to the hype. And while Conan looks unique and promising, it doesn't really appeal to me so much.

All I can say is Warhammer, warhammer, warhammer

putting aside its being made by mythic who made the best pvp game ever invented pre-expansions.

putting aside the fact they are building off a HUGE franchise which attracts older gamers as well as young gamers.

putting aside the fact that graphically this game is phenomenal.

putting aside all that... the game is god

If you would ask me what my best 3 are going to be, I would say:

    Fallen Earth

    Vanguard: Saga of Heroes

    Gods and Heroes

But I have a feeling that what will actually be the case, is that these following three will be on top (as far as subscriptions and in-game populations):

    Warhammer

World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade

    Lord of the Rings Online

    this is easy:

    1. Darkfal

This game is more advanced than any other game ever made when it comes to game features and player freedom. Dont agree? Go and compare to any game, online or in development, Conan, WAR, whatever.

    2. Conflict: Omega

Scifi mmorpg that has a lot of similarities with Fallout, one of the best single player games ever made.

    3. Trials of Ascension

Innovative, doesnt take the easy way in game development. Has a lot of unique races and a permadeath concept that doesnt suck.

    ---

All these three games have some similarities. Such as FFA pvp, player driven economy, great player freedom, skill based system, NO INSTANCES! and HUGE gameworld. Plus the DEVs seem to know what theyre doing, unlike in some other games...

All of them are develop by low budget companies so if they ever actually make it to release is uncertain (im pretty sure DF at least makes it), but then again every game in development is a potential vapor until launch

I pretty much agree with this guy... I'm a graphics whore (which means I am frequently disapointed by pretty games that suck but I never learn).

If I had to choose 3 I'd say, in no particular order

    Vanguard, Warhammer, God and Heroes.

Even though i'll probably try Huxley, Age of Conan and maybe others too.

    Darkfall
    Twilight War
... can't name a proper third, if and when these games finally release, every inch of my MMO thirst should be quelled. That is unless SOE ever make a Planetside 2.

    age of conan

    stargate worlds

    vanguard: soh

i really like how age of conan is shaping up, it looks great. violence and gore is what i love, so this game is going to be obviously #1 on my list. also, i love stargate (the tv shows/movies), and vanguard because i loved eq1 so much, i should at least give it a try (although, it looks quite good to be honest). i am keeping an eye on the startrek one also, i would like to give it a try, but its not at the top of my list.

I can't decide about 3 best but I can say what am I looking forward to trying out:

-Adellion - permadeath, player economy, realistic style and forced roleplaying

-Fallen Earth/Conflict Omega (which ever comes first) - post apocalyptic neo-punk FTW

-The Cronicle/Trials of Ascencion/Warhammer - permadeath and some other new and interesting ideas/same as The Cronicle/PVP

-Start Trek Online - I'm a big fan so I gotta try this out

    -Darkfall - KKND

The best upcomming 3 are without a doubt:

    1: Archlord
2: World of Warcraft: The burning Crusade
3: Lord of the rings online.

If I were a glutton for punishment i would say:

    1. Dark and Light (Vaporware?)

    2. Darkfall (Vaporware?)

    3. Roma Victor

    But I will say:

    1. Warhammer

    2. Gods and Heroes

    3. Star Trek (I'm not confident that it will be great, but I sure hope it is)

Isn't The Burning Crusade simply an expansion? I'm not sure that would count as an upcoming game... I could be wrong, though. AoC and Pirates of the Burning Sea both look kind of interesting. I have a sneaking suspicion that Vanguard is going to be dreadful. Reading some of the descriptions and opinions of game features in interviews from the developers has given me a bad feeling. Also, reading some opinions from people who have checked it out from E3 has added to that feeling. I guess we'll find out soon enough.

1- BioWare --- whatever they do, it is going to roxor as they master the basics of RPG FUN, which is not the case of any produced MMO

2- Hero's Journey --- I can't help but have an itching bad feeling, yet I can't pinpoint anything I dislike

3- Warhammer --- I dislike a few choices they made so far, but eh, I won't turn my back on them right away

I am torn between Darkfall and Warhammer. Darkfall does everything better (of what little is known about WAR) but Im a big fan of anything Warhammer and I absolutelu love Warhammer graphics.

    So its

    1.Warhammer/Darkfall

    2. ?

    3. ?
  • SuitepeeSuitepee Member Posts: 921

Darkfall. (aimed combat, flexible PvP/trading,it has it all but it needs beta!)

Age of Conan. (I especially like the part about aimed melee combat....that alone appeals me to this. I might use this as a sampler for Darkfall's promised combat.)

WAR. (If it can be like WOW but with actual, purposeful outdoor PvP that has BG's as a SIDE-OPTION and not the main course of the damn game, very good this could be. Even seems to have a sense of humour like WOW.)

  • beautyisinbeautyisin Member Posts: 405

    1) Vanguard

    2) WAR

    3) Hero's journey

Age of Conan looks like it's gonna be the best PvP game since shadowbane -- and MUCH better than shadowbane in every other aspect.

Anything BioWare makes will be absolutley amazing, I have total faith in them.

    Rumors of Diablo III?
