This game is more advanced than any other game ever made when it comes to game features and player freedom. Dont agree? Go and compare to any game, online or in development, Conan, WAR, whatever.
2. Conflict: Omega
Scifi mmorpg that has a lot of similarities with Fallout, one of the best single player games ever made.
3. Trials of Ascension
Innovative, doesnt take the easy way in game development. Has a lot of unique races and a permadeath concept that doesnt suck.
---
All these three games have some similarities. Such as FFA pvp, player driven economy, great player freedom, skill based system, NO INSTANCES! and HUGE gameworld. Plus the DEVs seem to know what theyre doing, unlike in some other games...
All of them are develop by low budget companies so if they ever actually make it to release is uncertain (im pretty sure DF at least makes it), but then again every game in development is a potential vapor until launch
ive been following trials of ascension and permadeath really interests me .. it really makes a player connect and have concern for the toon they are nurturing ...
but .. i dont see many updates regarding the games state .. screenies i have seen have become stagnant ..I agree TOA may end up as vaporware
Im getting really pumped up for Age of Conan. I cant wait to slash off some heads in the first M rated mmorpg. Who knows maybe the community will be mature also. I cant wait for this to come out.

Yes, ToA is one of those games you really shouldnt get your hopes too high. I just check their site every two weeks or so. But even if ToA takes a dive there is always someone, be it a fan or a former developer, that takes something with him/her and eventually someone will succeed in what they are trying to do. God knows we could use a good MMORPG for a change of all this current EQ-clone-#5745754 crap
1. Pirates of the Burning Sea 2. Darkfall 3. Dark and Light*
*and just because i might get flamed to death i'll say WAR (Warhammer Online) instead.
not sure why people hate dark and light so much ...
from what ive seen the game looks pretty cool ... it looks bleak but unlike other games where the blandness is not intended .. dark and light seems to intend on making a very dark, almost desolate world, which fits into its lore, and makes for an aura of uncertainty and a world gripped by evil or warfare
I read the DnL forum on this board and some bits and bobs on their own official board and I think I have a pretty good understanding as to why people are angry over it. I also picked up one of those freebie SoG thingies and it was terrible... completely unplayable. I used to be rather interested in the game myself but have since put in my bag marked "hopeless" along with Mourning.
Darkfall - only real PVP game coming out (you may whine and bitch about War, age of conan etc are pvp too-not true, they are games with pvp included, with rules that protect the weak, instances, and all kinds of stuff that limit the freedom ingame. There is only a few things that would be similar to DF-original uo, AC darktide, SB so take all that+other extraordinary features like full naval combat and its the only true PVP game)
The Chronicles of Spellborn - seem like they want to make a good game, and i believe they will succeed
Age of Conan- again seems to be a good game, the 1-20 lvls in single player makes it carebearish, but seems like a strong game with good community.
Hmm i can see how easily people are mislead by the companies.Anything i have tried in the warhammer series has been IMO garbage. But hey i'm not into holding grudges at all and had to check out the website .I had to check this one out before offering my top 3 ,because well,it's the only game i didnt even bother to check out yet.
Watching the movie made me angry. That is a cinematic movie that has absolutely nothing to do with actual gameplay.Besides very few computers would be able to handle that type of graphical gameplay.Watch it for yourself then look at the very ordinary screenshots of the characters. This game will be like all other warhammer games[cheap looking/plays cheap like a 2d scroller]
Enough of the WH bashing..
1 >3 it's a tie until i see more of the actual gameplay. SUN..HUXLEY...AGE OF CONAN all 3 look like they might have something to offer.Problem with SUN and HUX are that they belong to the korean gaming market.I am currently trying out that rfonline wich can be put into the LOOOng list of korean grindfest games.PvE till level 30 then PvP for a bit of sideshow away from grinding.
There was another game i had checked out that looks really nice, but can't remeber the name of it.Some kinda greek mythology type game, that had awesome looking graphics and cool looking mobs, while offering some unique player attacks.Something about shootfighting was mentioned or something like that.
Anyhow i'm sure i ticked off some WH fans lol ..oh well.To tell the truth i prolly will give it another look when closer to release.

If you asked me this 6 months ago the list would have included Dark and Light and Vanguard (and despite a previous post I've done numerous beta's and know what to expect. For the years in dev that was a mess) but those have dropped off my interest radar. I know you only asked for three but here is my current watch list;
