I also have come to do the same. Any product that has $ony anywhere on it, in it, or associated with it, I wont buy it. I generally think of this as my own personal "strike" against $ony.
Although, I have been seeing many more people saying the same things. So sometimes I wonder if $ony/$OE even notices. And if they do, is it enough to make them even care?

SWG hasn't a snowballs chance in Hell of EVER returning to the glory it once had. I mean really .... when a Lead Develpoer (Helios) has to ask why someone why they liked camps that tells me he has never experienced SWG himself.

I may have been alittle obscure on my feelings towords SOE in the past.
So I guess I'll state my opinion on this stickie so there will be no doubt.

How SOE can completely steal a game which we were all paying for away from us and force the stuff they fed us down our throat is unbelievable! To change the game because they say people were complaining and get only more complainers should tell them to go with the lesser of the two evils.
There will always be complainers but hey you know what before CU I had the equivalent of about a lvl 18-20 char. He was a wookiee, with no armor and no buffs. He didn't have a powerful template, and often got beat down by anything he tried to fight. Yet he still soloed because despite how hard the game was, it was fun and there were great people on the game.
The game was so unique and so diverse if that wasn't the first MMO I ever tried, I would never have gotten addicted to them. I created that wookiee as a joke to give me something to do while I was home visiting my family thinking that I'd never want to play an MMO. But after a few days I had to go home and had withdrawls from not being able to play. So I finally got the game myself and enjoyed it until the CU.
But the CU wasn't utterly horrible, sure levels sucked because they dictated the game and took some of the mystery out of it. Key though was that they kept our unique character creation abilities, which is what really irks me and most SWG vets about the NGE. This game went from the best MMO out there to the absolute worst out there with these two terrible ideas.
Yet SOE just doesn't care. Their target audience of 7-9 year olds (and this is the truth because my little brother just turned 9 and he even got his friend to join and they think it's great) is not the proper audience for an MMO, or at least not a Star Wars MMO. Jedi were getting bad after CU because of respec but seriously this game CAN NOT be Star Wars when everyone and their brother is a flippin' Jedi! It's ludicrous, I feel like its a satirical version of Star Wars produced by Mel Brooks, we should call it SBG = Space Balls : Galaxies because thats about where it's at right now. Don't get me wrong Space Balls is hilarious, but as far as the game goes it's not a good idea. I want my SWG back, SOE can take this SBG and shove it!
I support a rollback and keeping & balancing the old combat system.

But as a former owner of the access pass i have jumped in and out of SWG mostly to say hi as i quit playing after the first year.
On one of my returns just before CU nearly everyone i knew who still played was a jedi and walking freely around naboo.
So essentially those of us(i am guessing you too) who thought it was stupid to have so many jedis in this time frame walking freely around theed were screwed up long ago.
Why is it now that jedi are a starter class that people moan?At least now with the jedis not been super powered people might actually play other classes as their primary.Before this ppl only played other classes to support their jedis or are in progress of trying to get jedi.
I personally blame SoE for listening to the constant whining as regards jedi by what remained of the SWG community 1 year post launch.Now its star wars,you have a class called jedi that is stupidly overpowered.So why in god;s name will anyone want to be anything else!
Should have stood their grounds back in pre production and omitted jedis altogether or change the time line and a KOTOR like mmorpg.
I hate SOE. This is the only game company I feel this way about, and I've been a gamer since the 1980's.
When I see SWG on store shelves, I hide the boxes behind golf simulations and such. I've never done anything like that before, even when I was dissatisfied with a product. But SOE instills that kind of animosity in me because of how it treats its customers.
If I could do more to sabatoge them I would.
SWG could possibly be the best golf sim out there, IMO.

Yes there were a lot of Jedi during the CU, but not like now. At least not ratio wise, the only reason it may even seem close now is because there is only about 1/5th the people playing as there used to be.
Personally I prefer pre-CU like most vets, but it's not even the amount of Jedi, although that is a big part of it. The biggest thing about Jedi is the people that play them, and that is what has gotten so much more worse since the NGE. There were 1337 douche-bags that played them before, but now it's 7 year olds! I know they are about the same maturity level but there are more 7 years olds that 1337 num-nuts out there.
I don't mind Jedi being over-powered when it comes to a fight as long as they have other weaknesses. Such as everytime they draw their saber all the stormtroopers around instantly call for back up and open fire and tag you for Vader to come after you. If anyone you use a lightsaber on escapes from you, be they imp/reb/neutral they can report you to the imps. And this doesn't apply to just lightsabers but any obvious/overt Jedi skill. You must also act like a Jedi and as such maybe only be able to take certain missions, not be able to initiate combat, and always subdue an opponent rather than kill one. Maybe only allow reb/light jedi's since there is only supposed to be two sith at any one time. Not to ention letting BH's have field days with Jedi's.
Point is there are a million ways to handicap a Jedi that make more sense than losing xp, skills, or permadeath. Plus if you choose ones that will stop powergamers/1337 people from playing Jedi, guess who is left to play them? That's right hard core Star Wars and Role-Playing Gamers. And SWG is supposed to be what... Anyone? That's right an RPG!
So let as many people as want to go through the 18 weeks of grinding just to become a jedi, then work their way up with all those restrictions and it wouldn't bother me if there were a bunch, becuase those are the dedicated people that deserve to play jedi. Not all these 7 year olds swinging their glowbats.
Anyways, I hate SOE for killing my game instead of implenting common sense shit than any mature rational thinking person that played and loved SWG could have recommended.
