It isn't that it wont work so much as it is inconsistent with the design goals (personal vs realm/faction rewards/penalties).

your wrong on mordred and andred there failing came about because the game was already several years old when implemented. Not many people are willing to up root and move to a new server permanently after spending years on a server. Saying it failed bacuse of ffa pvp is flawed it failed cause 85% of the players already had roots elsewhere. If the servers would of been open day one of release theyed still be played.

While it is true that almost everyong that played there had come from another server, those servers were full atfor months after they launched. In addition, if you counted up all the level 60s (played and retired) you'd find that the number of them would rival any normal server.
The issue on those servers was simple...end-game sucked. RvR is the end-game in DAoC, and the Dreds were seriously lacking in end-game.
I know, I have a 50 (Ranger) on Mordred, as do most of my guild.
It was the end-game that made us return to a normal server, and thats pretty much the same reason Ive ever heard from anyone else.
As I said, FFA-PvP doesn't work in an RvR focused game. It "sounds fun", and it is...for a while, but it has no staying power. Mythic learned that, which is why we wont be seeing any FFA-PvP Warhammer.
Maybe they use some kind of modified Bind on Pickup (BoP) system from WoW for PvP looting ? Like everything on your body is safe as well as certain other key items, but cash, potions and so on are lootable ? Would be a definite improvement, and people who hunt out alone far out would have to be careful not to carry too much loot around - would also effectively stop farming items at certain spots.

My personal feeling is that rvr is about goals and not so much player loot. Killing players should give you faction and honor that can be redeemed for items and training. I dont need to havy jimbo3's sword of doom, but i would like to be rewarded for my efforts in slaying him.
I would also like a death zerg modifyer that tailors my rewards to my ability to stay alive. playing 24/7 is not skill, staying alive and making every kill count is skill. Reward skill not playtime.
Well sorry if i am badly informed, i just started to put my nose into it. The information about this game is so scarce and badly concentrated that such mistakes in such an early stageis excusable (i hope)
And why no farming ? is a complete PvP realm immune to it ? i don't think so
You will be rewarded for surviving and killing other players, who said that you wont? And don't get your hopes up for 1337 corpse looting, that's not going to happen. Cause that's not open for change, or they change the entire gameplay, which they wont. They have stated in many interviews and videos that there will be no corpselooting, NEVER.
Farming will always be present (and what's so bad about farming anyway? Oh yea i forgot, the evil chinese that destroy every game.....</sarcasm>), but WAR is not WoW. And the gameplay is totally different (you don't have to pve btw) let's just wait and see what happens.
