Folks can talk about P vs P and Realm vs Realm being important

But when the new round of cool games comes out (i.e., EQ2, UXO, WoW, MEO, etc), I'm going to say "Bye Bye to P vs P and realm vs realm" and never look back (smiling all the way).

Yes, there indeed does seem to be a movement away from wideopen pvp/rvr, specially in the games which you mentioned, which are arguably the most anticipated games in the next generation. but there are also games coming which focus on pvp, Guild Wars, Dark and Light, Knight Online to name a few. So everyone should be able to find a game of their liking in the next wave or generation or whatever you wanna call it.

You do know that pretty much all of those games will have a form of PvP? Some stronger then others.

Billus8 is a person that thinks all PvP is played by blood thrity children, and MMORPG are really nothing more than 3D-chat rooms. There is nothing wrong with thinking that way, there are a number games like SIMS and A Tale in the for Desert people like this.

The part I don't understand is why Billus8 wants to tell others that PvP isn't fun for them?  Billus it's o.k. you don't like PvP. And it's o.k. if other people do.

And inspite of what you say, there is a trend towards PvP, not away.

EQ2, will have PvP simlar to EQ1. Witch is to say not much.

WoW = RvR, PvP, GvG, FvF and whatever the heck else you can think up with a "v" in the middle. Details haven't been annouced but I promise it'll have loads of worthly PvP action.

Is there Player vs. Player content?
Yes, we are dedicated to allowing player versus player conflicts in a way that is consistent with the world of Tolkien. (FvF)

UXO = EQ like PvP, but it have a ladder system and other things to incourge PvP and GvG

Don't forget Guild Wars, Linage 2 and many more that will have a "core" PvP System.

A Tale in the Desert is not a 3d chat room.
It just has no combat, so many people bash it.
