DO not buy this game! It´s not completed that´s for sure this game must still be in Beta stage. Bad graphics even with a high-end computer. Extreme Lag. And a quest system that is completly jibberish because you don´t know where to go at all. If you decide to buy this game well then don´t say I did´nt warn you!
All statements I make is from my point of view unless stated otherwise.

Spot on!
I WAS (just recently refunded) a Pioneer. I waited until the "official" release. It came with a patch. Its fucked up. So many friggin problems. Got that straightend out, went to my character and guess what> Its gone.
Fed up, disgusted and this "game" is not a game, its a paid alpha/beta that ppl are paying for. The Devs are con artists, full of crap, the GMS are terminally asinine and the "community" forums suck.
Credit card company chargeback AFTER I was told I didnt have an account to refund. When delving my account however, I found out I was charged TWICE for the Pioneer Pack and was charged for the first month subscription! They insisted I did not have an account. Credit card company immediately issued chargebacks on all charges from Farlan/C&B. This is a total f****g joke.
Save your money.

try and get a refund?
you might not be able to but it doesn't hurt to try
I would'nt rag on the game to badly. My statment to any and everyone. Its a good game with potential (thats the key word of the day). The devs have had an uphill battle since the start, if you ask me they bit off more than they could handle. The graphics are a bit low for the moddern MMO, and if your not serious about trying it, I recomend you wait for a free trial or go in knowing you may be disapointed. SOG was a bomb, and I think that the dves have learned from that mistake. Lastly before you bash them into the ground ask yourself, can you right now make a better game? If you said no than just give the game its due review and move on.
So in short, if your not serious about playing the game I recomend you wait, let the game develope a bit more, if you know you want in than jump in but go in knowing as much as you can.
Potential is al its got
and all it'll ever have
As for making a better game
I've seen school projects that were tested better than DnL
EX- UO, EQ, SWG Player
Currrently trying out GW and WoW
Holla-At-Your-Boy
What I wish to know is could they fix an auto better than the average mechanic on this board/
Could they unstop a toilet better than the average plumber?
Could they weld 2 pipes together better than the average welder who visits here?
I could go on but the bottom line is probably not. No more than the mechanic, welder, or plumber could program an MMORPG. However the difference is those guys can weld, fix cars and pipe in your sink, NP3 probably cannot do any of that or make a MMORPG.
I miss DAoC
Plain and simple, this game is in Beta, nay ALPHA stage. The graphics are sub par (everything but the terrain...which is not Farlan technology anyway, even if they claim it is "Mafate") and they remind me of SSI games from my old Sega Genesis. There is zero customer service. You have to pay $54.99 to download the game and get one month of play...they don't even offer you a free month like ALL other MMORPG's do upon release! And billing/account management? It's a joke!
If you are one of those "have to see it to believe it" types, then suffice it to say, YOU'VE BEEN WARNED.
People who use the "can you do better?" remark are ridiculous; game designers do not pay to play other people's games. If I could make a better game, would I be here trying to play this debacle of DnL?
I am a customer, and I paid for a service which I did not receive. Therefore I can use word of mouth (or forums) to warn others of the false advertisement of DnL. The game is not finished, and thus should not have been released. This game has no comparison to any other games for it's total lack of customer service. If Farlan bit off more than they could chew then that's their fault for overstepping themselves, but now that the truth is out they should be punished for it. It's not a question of forgiveness or something that might be dismissed among friends. They promised a particular product and did not deliver as promised, and now they should accept the consequences.

Can't WAIT!
This is one to stay away from, I am an optimist but even I see this game dying, although is it even alive ???
It really has been a disgrace, the way people have been treated is terriable.
So let us turn to Vanguard, clutching our keyboards in silent prayer!
RIP DnL, peace to you all...
Look, I *SEE* that DnL has potential. I guess thats why so many haters are here, we are very disappointed, because we see what it could have been, or someday can be. With luck, it will be good someday. The question is: will you pay month by month to wait? I have the same word to DnL as I has to SWG devs, when they said, give us time, we implement things:
I have the patience to wait for you to improve your product, if you have the patience until I pay my bill.

I can come up with only a few answers:
1. It's not WoW-like: no easy kill-loot-rinse-repeat game. There are tactics involved and brains.
2. Yes, there are issues (FPS problem for a lot, but if you read forum, there are plenty of tips how to improve; even so, it's acknowledged there is a problem and being worked on). So if you work with the community chances are high it's not even an issue anymore.
3. Yes, there are bugs (ever seen any MMO come to live (or any other software package for that matter) without any bugs/problems/issues? I haven't. Consider SWG for example: still after 2 overhauls, a 3rd is coming while there are still bugs from the BETA almost 3 years ago...
4. It seems they are not working to fix things. This is a complete wrong assumption. Yesterday (monday) there were 2 patches. Compare this to other games... For a small company doing 2 patches in one day gives some idea how much effort they put in to get the most broken stuff fixed asap.
5. Feedback is slow. I admit that. But eventually there *is* feedback... Compare to a big company like SOE: what communication?
It's an initial price of about 50$ isn't it (I'm pioneer, so I don't know what it is right now). Then you can choose for a FREE subscription... Yes... I repeat FREE... Some content won't be available, but if you read some STICKIED post on the DnL forum it's explained why you don't need a payed subscription just yet.
I think most of these people here are annoyed and trying to undermine a growing game with a lot of potential. It just needs some more time.
Personally, this game has more content and depth then WoW/SWG and GW combined! It might be topped only by EVE 2nd Genesis by complexity.
Ranger @ Heart
Wildlife Preserver
Dariane Tracker
By the way guys, I am developing a game. It will have more features than you've ever seen. The land mass will be the same size as the USA, and each server will house around 2 billion people. Anyone want to pre-order now for 60 bucks? Please? I'll give ya a dragon.
had to edit this because I keep seeing stuff about AO's launch. AO ran crappy and it was hard to log in. But even in beta there was stuff to do and there was a game there.
