    Just out of curiosity, what is the armor that is worn, yet not seen on the character?

    The boots for Katarn armor will not be displayed visually when worn by Trandoshans (but their feet will still be protected).

    I don't think you can compare whether or not someone "sucked" at SWG by seeing how he or she stacks up against some twinked out alt toon.  I played the game my way, and didn't do half bad.

    as for the crack on sucking at everything, i hope that was humor else the concept of skill point shifting is missed by your jape.

    some of use actually enjoyed the fact that we could migrate skill points about and change the game from our point of view.

    --The absolute lack of content in the game?
    --The bugs!!!!  OMG!!! THE BUGS!
    --The overpowered jedi that made a "master" in his/her combat profession look like a thug holding a sharp stick the wrong way?
    --And lastly, the players on your friends lists getting smaller even before the CU came out?
    Don't get me wrong it was a lot of fun but it was far from perfect and it could not continue the way it was forever.  I think that SOE/LAs cure was worse than the disease, so we look back fondly on the disease.
    [Admittedly, I was a dot whore and a Dizzy/kd fencer.  I had a doc/musician buff bot and I had a (non-ebay) Jedi.  With my Rifle/ranger I could and did hunt for hours in Rancor valley with no armor and only food buffs (just for personal pride as a hunter!)- with my merchant i had a fairly good business of selling Gurk hide, harrower bones and albatross feathers - in addition to normal hide, meat and bone - I had millions and millions of credits, and the best armor/food/weapons/tapes credits could buy- there was not a day that went by that i didn't play for at least 4 hours.]

    Read the post again this time put your glasses on, put the b _ _ g down, and try not to let your A.D.D. distract you.  A lot of the points i made I admitted doing.  (Dot-whore... dizzy k/d... what do those terms mean to you?)

    My point to this post was that you dummies hold Pre-CU up as some holygrail...if only they brought back the Pre-CU then everything would be ok!!!  When SOE anounced a combat revamp NO ONE on the forums said it was a bad idea (I ain't saying when the CU went live, i mean when it was still called a combat revamp)  If you did, link the post here, i'm sure it's still on their forums DB under a search your your login name.  Everyone wanted their professions fixed.  Pistollers wanted duel wield - Smugglers wanted better fighting skills - Everyone wanted a mind shot! Etc.

    None of those things happened and the old broken game is still there.  Carbineers and pistollers know what I mean by broken.

    Besides, dotting a guy with a 2 tick death poison is as funny as all hell but in what way is that complex?

    Royalpenalty, if you got Pre-CU you would play until you finally got your jedi, grind her up to master and then quit a few months later and sell her on eBay - just like everyone else.

    us dummies have proved to you in this thread that that isnt the case. We know the pre-cu wasnt perfect. i dont know anyone in their right mind who thinks it was.

    when soe announced the cu, it was supposed to incorporate all of the ideas to fix the current issues given by players. Yes, everyone was excited about that. It even went so far as sandbox testing, until it was scrapped for the cu that went live. They put it on tc, and people hated it, because it was NOT what anyone asked for. I thought everyone knew this

     If they had "balanced" the game Pre-CU as what the CU was supposed to and had spent time to correct the problems in the PRE-CU game we would be a lot better off. Ok yes mind was end all be all, easy fix got to a CU like ham bar DONE! Bugs? are there more bugs now or then? I would say now. Content, well of course there's more content now, it's 18 months later!

    This game was very very good pre-CU. CU it went to only an OK game, because all the changes the DEVS made became wishy washy, as the Devs knew it wouldn't work, so they didn't wanna spend much time with it. And now we're in the mess of a game that we're in now. Which is completely BORKED! Right now they are trying to mesh the FPS game (which they thought was gonna be better... HA!) with an MMO and it's not gonna work, they need to pick one!

    Basically this game will never be good again, because the people making decisions can't make decisions. They keep trying to do 2-3 conflicting things, now you can toggle target lock on and off, huh? They are giving you several targeting brackets? What? the UI was already confusing and non-user friendly, and they made it harder? BRILLIANT!

    Essentially I want Pre-CU (hell I'd even take CU) back because #1, things were easy to understand, the UI was not confusing. #2, I would much rather have a sandbox game then one that tells me what to do and when to do it. Oh and 3... I wanted to be Uncle Owen! Stupid higher ups just don't listen to their customer base, then when it leaves they blame everyone under them. Julio, and Smed should have lost their jobs twice by now, if I did that crap at my job, I would have been gone instantly! (Yes I know they probably got permission, but still)

    The whole thing wasn't that Pre cu is that much better it's that if they had just worked on perfecting THAT game and dedicated resources into making the original game better and more filled with content, instead they devote their man hours into implementing 2 completely new sets of code. Here is a list of the publishes I have from 1 - 27 (I don't have the heart to list the forgettable 28 and 29 Err make that chapter 1....third paragraph....with dimples.)

    Look at the first 10 publishes. A lot of content was introduced, including the vette, the DWB, and the Geo caves.......then they had DWB and started telling everyone, all these bugs will be fixed in the combat revamp. Instead of fixing and tweaking the original system, their man hours go into scrapping the original design docs for the CU and implementing a new, simpler system. This was when WOW went big and people flocked to that game because the Developers couldn't figure out why we weren't excited about Loot Kits, Vet rewards, or even a half hearted attempt at making bases mean something. Content development went right out the window, and we excepted it because we were going to have the CU which would balance all combat, make the game more fun and exciting, and give the smugglers an actual opportunity to smuggle.

    To be honest, in the old system, you COULD defeat a Def stacked  KD/Dizzy fencer. All you had to do was have a decent buff and the right foods. The mind hit thing could have been fixed easily by having a mind heal ability that gave you Battle fatigue, but healed your mind. Those guilds that dedicated themselves to PVP really worked at it. On our server, we would have 200 people wars defending a base.  I remember my friend saying they were able to hold off about a hundred attackers with just 20 guys.  These days, you hold an event where 30 people stand around looking at AT-ATs and you end up at 1 frame per second.

    The whole point of this is, the fact that they have changed directions in this game every 6 months, leaves a bad taste in everyone mouth. (admit it, Chapter 1 pub 29, whatever the hell they call it is another CU. Just not as dramatic.)
