Yes, the idea that you attack the post not the poster is a fine system. But when the poster farts sunshine, no matter what the weather, at some point you need to ask what they've been eating.
Originally posted by elitwebb Maybe you should go back to the OP and read what it says. According to him, nothing is wrong, everything is sun shine and lolipops. This was the first post that he made after actually buying the game. So calm down fanny, learn to read and you won't embaras yourself anymore.
Your obviously new here because you are the one that has no idea what they are talking about. Firstly, anachyart is not a fanboy in my book or most peoples. Secondly, if Blacksac wants to wait through the 2 weeks that are awful in nearly every MMO(even if he may be a fanboy), then why do we have a problem with him being an smart/informed consumer, exactly? Thirldy, Blacksac definitely stated there were several "bugs" in the game.
His post came across as completely honest, yet everyone flamed him anyway, as he knew he would be. I hate this game as much as the next person, but I find peoples reactions to this particualr thread to be completely uncalled for. Flaming a bad game is one thing, but flaming someone giving an honest review(even if you've grown tired of his previous statements) is crossing the line in my book.
The reason Blacxksac gets flamed is because of the years of passive aggressive type insults he has dished out to honest posters here and because of his dishonest and slanted representation of DnL. He has for years insulted anyone who disagrees with his posts, told them to leave the forums, spent his time bumping his pet screen thread and attemtping to bury legitimate threads that express concerns about the game. The critics of DnL generally respect other posters opinions of the game, are generally much more tolerant of other perspectives and are the only ones here who actually engage in discussion with well reasoned arguments as to why DnL may or may not be good. For years the critics have asked Blacksac and the fanboys to stop with the insults and to actually try to make an argument as to why DnL might be good. Not having any argumets to substantiate their claims otehr than blind faith Blacksac and the fanboys have simply resorted to personal attacks and insults.
If Blacksac had not resorted to all the personal attacks and insults people would be much more tolerant of him. Additionally he has posted so many slanted ridicoulous posts that its hard for anyone to take what he said seriously as he is just an agent of Farlan. Farlan said they hired two fanboys to post on the forums its almost a certantity that Blacksac is one of them as he is about the only Fanboy left. Almost all the old time fanboys are gone or have realized how poor a game DnL truly is. By a process of elimination it is almost a certainty that Blacksac is one of the paid fanboys. Who else could it be? A betetr questio is who is the 2nd paid fanboy? Realizing Blacksac is paid by Farlan really explains a lot about his posting, his bumping of threads and his attempts to bury threads that speak the truth about DnL.
Most people here know Blacksac for what he is a paid lackey of Farlan who will say whatever he can to trick people into giving their money to Farlan. That in itself does not bother me. What bothers me and where he crosses the line is with his insults and namecalling. If he just stated an opinion and left it at that I could respect him even if his posts lacked substance or credibility. But the repetitive personal attacks upon other posters, telling people to leave the forums and the namecalling is what makes him a bad poster and causes me and many other forum users to lose any respect for him or his posts.

All you hatebois need to disprove anything Blacksac said in his mini review instead of just saying the same shit you say in every other one of your posts. Everything he said was true: beautiful world, too much lag, satisfying mob hunting if only in the low levels that we've tried and many bugs.
They really only have to fix a few things to make this puppy much more intriguing than most of the crap out there including WoW. Fix the balloons, invert mouse and other obvious bugs, put some more mobs in game and reduce the lag. Bing, done deal. Definitely would be a great game.
Some people are just happier bitching though.
I am not bitching, I am just stating a fact. It took me like 15 minutes to get to level 5. Maybe he took his time and explored a little. Maybe they have slowed the exp down. I was soared past those levels about a week and a half ago. There was really no need to call me a hatebois.
I am not a hater of this game, I paid hard earned money for it and I have a right to share my opinion just as much as Blacksac has to share his. However that won't make me call him a fanbois if he I believe he has over exagerated his view of the game.
Please everyone go out and buy this game and see it for yourself. Support the devs because they need all they can to fix those bugs that Anarchyart stated above.

Be honest, you said this to make some strange point about hyperbole, right? Or do you really believe this?
I am not bitching, I am just stating a fact. It took me like 15 minutes to get to level 5.
15 minutes? Cmon man, I know the game is fubar'd, but it takes longer than that, a lot longer. And I didn't say you were bitching, just that some people overexaggerate the problems and bash the graphics, which on my system are great. Just like everything else, they need work. No idea when you played, but right now you could NOT get to level 5 in 15 minutes.
Any other company would be expected to fix the major bugs of this game in a month, but everyone seems to think it's impossible for Farlan/np3. I'm not saying it is possible, just that is should be.
I patched the game today because my refund hasn't gotten through yet and now the dang thing won't even boot. I get the GTZ decompression error. No way I'm re-downloading it. But I don't have to make things up like some people.

Darn, I guess I didn't make that up about getting to level 5 so easy. I guess Anarchyart knows so much about the game that he can't even get it to work properly. I see you have the word noob in your signature. It fits you well. I so hope I see you on the PVP server in Vanguard. As for you not re-downloading it, I guess you have no faith in the game either.
I’ve now reached level 10. This game reminds me of early AC, very open, a big world, and hard on noobs. FPS is an issue, I get between 10 and 20 most times, I would prefer it to be bouncing off the 25 cap almost always, but not to be atm. Loads of small bugs, lots of polish needed. Some big ones too, at least one vendor made me crash, all others I tried were ok so far. A nest in a tree once I clicked on it froze my player, had to log off to fix it. I haven’t used balloons yet, known issues, as I’m enjoying travelling on foot, and hunting available mobs on the way. In the end nothing game breaking yet I have moved from my Lutin starter village to the Human starter village, a long journey on foot. I came across a few towns on the way, saying "Hi" to the people I met there. Generally people where friendly, I play on Aussie times which is very off-peak, but the world feels populated, if very spread out. I am trying out for a Guild I’ve chosen, should open the game up a bit more for me in the next levels/areas of play. I’m liking the skill/level system, the more I use the better I get, but I can also allocate Pt’s to skills under the level system too. (appears to work this way) At level 10 I became a ranger, which means I can tame animals. I did tame two horses, which felt really nice having them tag a long on my long treks. Mob hunting is really fun for me, as I like looking for them. The mob AI is really interesting, hard to pin down behaviors, even mobs of the same type will react differently, feels natural some how. The world feels alive to me, more than any game I’ve played including AC (which is the closest in feel) I max all my graphic settings out, because I found little difference in FPS if I lowered them, so I just leave it maxed. The world including most of the mobs looks beautiful. The sounds are really nice for each environment, and the mobs munching and doing stuff, sound really nice. Little touches like dust blowing up off the ground, great fog effects, grass rolling in the wind, make it seem alive. One mob I really love is the horse. I’ll be heading West now to see the ocean, and see what the hunting and towns are like, I’m looking for a vendor that sells cheap hangliders, my next phase of mobility I am having loads of fun atm Btw this isn’t a review, just my first week impression Cheers PS: Looks like the season is changing, Winter is on the way, looking forward to the snow http://www.darkandlight.net/forums/showthread.php?t=65497
sooo much bs BS. You didnt do the balloons because you KNOW the balloons dont work. You make it sound as though its the easiest and most pleasant game around. LOOK at your own boards and KNOW that you are the ONLY ONE who is enjoying ALL of what you say.
BTW-- take a gander also at Classic Quotes --- your post was already predicted. You have lost all credibility here.

Just my impression as you can see, in the end it's personal. I've had honest to goodness fun up until now. It's actually a nice game so far. I'll post again in time as I progress and talk about what my impressions are then

Blacksac should be comended for his last post as its one of the few posts that I have ever seen him write where he is not resorted to namecalling or insults. Kudos to him. While many may disagree with the substance of his post and believe it is quite biased and innacurate he should be given respect for actually trying to put down in words why he likes the game rather than bashing other posters. Blacksac should be comended for at least for attempting to change his posting style. For a long tme, posters here have asked him to stop the hate and write a post of subtsance. While we may disagree as to the degree of subtance and honesty contained in his post he has actually tried to do something we have all asked of him for quite some time. He has somewhat joined in the discussion of the game. While many may not like his post it is a big improvement and one should remember the old saying a thousand mile journey begins with one step and it is quite a big step from his normal posting style. He should be congratulated. Again, kudos to him for leaving out the insults and the hate.

Agreed. But I give Blacksac 2 more weeks before the "newness" wears off and the "many issues" in the game begin to take their toll. I obviously have a far lower pain threashold than BS, because it only took me three days of suffering to give up on DnL.
In fact, I'll make a pediction and give all the fanbois 2 more weeks until even they start making negative posts on the official forums. We've already seen it start to happen here:
Blacksac I thought you were the dnl closed beta almost a year ago. I remember reading in the beta forums and seeing posts made by someone named Blacksac. I thought it was you and didnt think for a second it wasent. So you were not in the closed beta?

The regular posters will no doubt find this information even more interesting than I do, but I consider it an important piece in an ongoing mmorpg.com puzzle. Blacksac. Just when he most seems like a public relations robot, he'll say something humanizing, something that makes it seem like he knows what's what. I've long wondered how a game company that can't afford a website with proper English could afford such a sophisticated English-language shill, so for over a year I've withheld judgment about his motives, and merely observed.
It puts me in mind of something. I live in Philadelphia, and on my way to the gym I usually pass a store that sells sports memorabilia. Jerseys and uniforms from local sports teams, cheap stuff. It's a pathetic little store, and I never see anyone shopping there. But sometimes they have someone out front, dressed as one of the local mascots -- the Philadelphia Eagles, say -- handing out fliers and trying to get people to shop there. Every time I see a guy on the sidewalk dressed in a bird suit, I wonder. Here's a store that's barely making rent, if at all: can they really afford to hire/humiliate a guy in a bird suit for $10 an hour to stand out front squawking? Or is this some homeless person so desperate he's willing to do it for the price of lunch?
I may never know which of those two things Blacksac is, metaphorically speaking. But he's definitely one of them.

I have been thinking about what I said before and I had a bit of a flashback... After seeing your name blacksac on the dnl closed beta forums I linked your name to the 'screens of dnl...' thread here because I was following it pretty often. I then went through every screen shot in the thread to make sure there was no breaching of the NDA seeing that you were in both forums.
Could 2 people have the same name, yes of course. Could someone just have used your name to make the closed beta account... well one might think so, as I did at first, but then I remembered something else....
I didnt make my own dnl beta account, they did it for me. They took my name right from the forum user name that I was using on another forum. I was zimquats in dnl closed forums and on mmhell, which is where they took my user name from.
So it seems pretty clear to me that you were in the dnl closed beta. I remember that you were in the batch of testers that came in after me, about 4 months after I was invited.

Hot Damn!!!! The shill he be exposed. Never doubted it for a moment. Of course he hadn't bought the game, it was given to him by his handlers/masters.
So either he is a shill/liar/dev whatever or this is one damn big coincidence and I don't give coincidene much credence here.
This also explains all the screenshots that people thought were from the beta 2 years ago and some of which I remember from the Deceit and Lie board several years ago.
Pass the popcorn, can't wait to see how this plays out.
Im not really much of a poster, but the sneezy practices has to be exposed.
Blacksac, you were involved with the game from a much eariler stage, and was involved in the inital "hype" promotion of the game, so you do not have a position for an unbyasied review of the game.
The evidence of the shameless promotion in MMORPG.com can be seen here, with your post on there including your avatar.
Quote from you: Hi it's me blacksac! Blackcactus1 = blacksac
Hi Magpie! I was very surpised to see my name here. I just wanted to get some debate happening on Dark and Light in mmorpg.com.
They have ignored it, dispite it having a strong following. I feel its too good a game to let it just slide, so I kept posting about the games features in an open debate style on their boards, and it did get quite a bit of attention.

In the end nothing game breaking yet
I have moved from my Lutin starter village to the Human starter village, a long journey on foot.
(appears to work this way)
At level 10 I became a ranger, which means I can tame animals. I did tame two horses, which felt really nice having them tag a long on my long treks. Mob hunting is really fun for me, as I like looking for them. The mob AI is really interesting, hard to pin down behaviors, even mobs of the same type will react differently, feels natural some how.
The world feels alive to me, more than any game I’ve played including AC (which is the closest in feel)
I max all my graphic settings out, because I found little difference in FPS if I lowered them, so I just leave it maxed. The world including most of the mobs looks beautiful. The sounds are really nice for each environment, and the mobs munching and doing stuff, sound really nice. Little touches like dust blowing up off the ground, great fog effects, grass rolling in the wind, make it seem alive. One mob I really love is the horse.
I’ll be heading West now to see the ocean, and see what the hunting and towns are like, I’m looking for a vendor that sells cheap hangliders, my next phase of mobility
I am having loads of fun atm
Btw this isn’t a review, just my first week impression
Cheers
PS: Looks like the season is changing, Winter is on the way, looking forward to the snow

sooo much bs BS.
I'll post again in time as I progress and talk about what my impressions are then
Later
But I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

My Sager 5760 Review

Try a MUD today at http://www.mudconnect.com/I have been thinking about what I said before and I had a bit of a flashback...

Blacksac, you were involved with the game from a much eariler stage, and was involved in the inital "hype" promotion of the game, so you do not have a position for an unbyasied review of the game.
The evidence of the shameless promotion in MMORPG.com can be seen here, with your post on there including your avatar.

Hi it's me blacksac! Blackcactus1 = blacksac
Hi Magpie! I was very surpised to see my name here. I just wanted to get some debate happening on Dark and Light in mmorpg.com.
They have ignored it, dispite it having a strong following. I feel its
too good a game to let it just slide, so I kept posting about the games
features in an open debate style on their boards, and it did get quite
a bit of attention.
I hope all is well!
Best regards,
blacksac
