Thats as likely as Ferrari spending 30 million on a car they plan on mass producing and then at the very last second cancelling the whole project. Its not gonna happen.

That's not totaly true. What happened to Middle-Earth Online. They did cancel their project, right?

For the rest, I'm not scared away by EA getting mythic. GW wont let EA fuck with their game, so I think WAR is pretty safe with EA Mythic :)

Middle Earth Online Got renamed. It's now Lord of the Rings Online. It was never canceled.

hehe, noway. Go to their site, go to the FAQ I think (too lazy to check). LotRO is NOT the same as MEO. MEO got cancelled, and Turbine received the license to make LotRO. LotRO is a total NEW project, and is NOT the same as MEO.

    conspiracy theories ftw.

do you people ever think it was perhaps because the games wouldnt make one dollar?
i sure do - did you guys ever check warhammer online before mythic? :P
i understand why EA didnt buy it "back then" ^^ and they probably wouldnt shut it down just because "HAHA WE BE EA, WE BE EVIL!" **sacrifice pigs to the devil**
no company is evil, it just want income!

so i dont get the point of this thread. sorry.

    Sheesh.

If EA had any belief they could make a MMORPG on their own, they wouldn't have bought Mythic.

If you buy Mythic to make MMORPG, why would you even remotely it?

You wouldn't, you feed money, give them what they want and let them get on with it.

Then if the game crashes and burn to you start thinking about messing around with Personnel and Ideas.

Nothing, only someone mentioned something about EA going to cancel the whole WAR project.

I've decided to only reply to useless off topic posts in this thread because I've had enough of this discussion ;)

Well EA did a bang up job destroying UO so we can probably expect more of the same.

i don't care who they're partnered with, or who's bought them out, i'm still gonna give the game a shot.  It wouldn't hurt to play the game for a month to see if its ne good or not.  I'm not a big fan of EA either, but i'm not gonna completely forget about the game just because EA is assosciated with it.  Who knows, it could be a great game, and you'd miss out on it just because you don't wanna buy it cuz EA has it's tag on it.

You gotta remember, guy, that it's not gonna be mythic anymore.... It's gonna be EA, and I for one, as a warhammer fan before I found out about this deal with EA, was already planning on giving this an honest chance. I've never heard of this thing with this company alienating its player base though......

EA's problem seems to be that they will leave a studio alone (mostly) to create a great game then when they want to do an expansion, sequel or whatever they don't give it to the original team. As a result it comes out sub-par.

Most large studios are guilty of this, not just EA - Activision did it with Call of Duty too.

One thing EA do bring to bear on their studios is crazy deadlines. Most EA games come out needing a major patch before they are really retail standard. Going gold means to EA 'we got 6 weeks to finish the game with patch 1.01'
