No... unless you enjoy being told you're a 'n00b' every 5 mins by a 14 yr old.

runescape is actually fun untill you get to about lvl 80, then its just boring and it takes days to raise one lvl

    no

If you want a game where you can level realy fast in whatever you ant to specialize, download Shadowbane. It's 100% free (though the account creation process doesn;t seem like it, but it's just messing with you)

go to Fileplanet and download it.

Its all right apart from the fact that it has one of the worst communities in an mmo ever. I mean, theres so many freaks and weridos that play it... <--- oops that was a bit harsh.

I've played Runescape for a good while, even payed for it for a few months.

I enjoyed the game as such, but I agree with people here that the community is horrible. Everybody is rude to you, people are constantly trying to scam you and so on.

Also, while you are still exploring all the skills and options the game has to offer, it is good fun. But after a while I found I was just spending my time online repeating one and the same thing over and over again for ages just to raise a level in a skill.

So in answer to your question: it is not that hard to get to a high level, as long as you don't mind sitting at your computer for hours and hours and just clicking and repeating.

no runescape is a very boring game. what type of games do you like and i could tell you some good ones. do you play free games only or all of them?

  • xxxmonkxxxxxxmonkxxx Member Posts: 257

What people are saying about people calling you a noob is very true, I got called a noob once at level 98 once by a level 100... wtf?

On the moon, nerds have their pants pulled down and they are spanked with moon rocks!

Who cares what people call you?  People who don't know you and don't care about you are calling you a n00b.  You don't know them and don't care about them, either... so why let it bother you?

As for Runescape... it's free, no?  Why not download it and see if you like it.  Same with SB, AO and a whole slew of other games.  There's certainly no shortage of free games available and all you give up is a bit of time searching for the right one.

Runescape is ok, you first should beat all the quest though and get to like level 40 then become a member. It's barely a free game because they only let you try like 1/30 of the game so you really have to pay to play.

You should be able to figure out whether it's the game for you with the freebie bit though, no?  Then if you decide you like it enough, maybe paying for it would be okay.

Maybe not, I don't know.  I don't play it because I don't like the look of it so I'm not sure if it's worth paying for.

Hey demensions!  This is probally the exact opposite thing you would think I would say being a runescape moderator.

But I would suggest not to play it it is very boring and time consuming the only reason I play once a week is because I am a moderator.  I suggest you play final fantasy xi or morrowind oblivion but do not play runescape.

It seems an interesting sign that even a Runescape moderator is saying the game is boring....

well, exept from the bad community and the click and move system (i dont like it anyway), its a ok game... u will learn alot about crafting, thats for sure :P. i used to play it before, and i enjoyed it, not for long tho, mostly becouse of the community. its a good game if you have just discovered mmorpgs and dont wanna pay. But there is a lot of other games that are so much better then runescape. Well, its free and all u have to do is visiting runescape.com and click on "new player", then u can decide if u like it or not

You should keep searching for new mmog's, But if you chose to, on the way to level 100 will be hard and might get bored, I stopped playing it at level 65, i lost 1.4mil $$ when the hackers got into my account. try playing dofus, if you dont like it, have a try @ runescape

Runescape is very fun but time comsuming and the community is TERRIBLE. the skills get really hard to level up once you get to lvl 100 or so. But i think you should play runescape.

i've played rs when i was younger, it was kind of fun but when u reach lvl 70 or 80 its rly booring. And there are just too many kids playing that game, most of them dont have any respect for the others, still u can try playing it.

I'd try it,but keep in mind that the community isnt great. However, they do create new things very rapidly, at least from the Members point. And the SMS system is good;even us Brits can do it.

If RS went 3D,added a heap of new skills (but not changing the way its done, somewhat),added more outdoor PvP or at least giving the 'Wilderness' area more purpose in-game,and tried to lose a bit of the immature community, Runescape would be a top-class game. I'd advise you that mining/smithing is a LONG LONG grind process past Iron, seriously. You might want to avoid that when it starts getting to Steel/Mithril for a while, or try to buy the ores instead.

Runescape used to have a good community for the first 2 years...but then..*sigh*
if you are not a veteran, then don't play it.
