Runescape is actually a very good game, just most people can't see past the average graphics and poor music.
Once you get into it, it's extremely addicting, new content is released every week ( for members), and over 100 quests, 22 skills, a massive world to explore and dozens of mini-games, you never get bored.
As for the community, on free-2-play, yes, very bad. But once you become a member, most of the people are mature. I advise you create an account, play it for longer then ten 10 minutes, and make of it what you may.
Btw I'm a level 90 who's been playing 1 and a half years. Good game, most people don't give Jagex the credit they deserve
