I've never played WoW before so I don't know what interface they use and if it is the same to Cabal, I do wish Cabal would upgrade the graphics a bit more so it looks a bit more better than it is now.

The reason I love WoW is, because WoW copied everything good from other games.

Re-inventing the game for the worst is not good.  Copy what is good and improve everything, as long as it is legal.

There are alot of uninformed people thinks that WoW invented auction, WoW invented this and that.

I guess I'll have to wait until open beta to try this one out. Consider me interested.

The pictures of the interface did remind me of wow, I don't call it a bad thing though.
And timed quests?  This must be the first korean mmo I've heard had it.  Looking good.

RF Online which was korean, then brought over to N.A. had timed quests, not a bad game either.
  • MiNaAuMiNaAu Member Posts: 382

Lol I haven't tried WoW or RF yet! It's really not fair lol.

The facts, Athea, are that you spent almost 15-20 minutes making stupid statements about your totally wrong thoughts. That's the reason why a lot of mmorpg veterans jumped directly to your neck.

You can say whatever you want about innovation or standarization, but you can't say this game copies anything from WoW since it has a lot in common ( interface wise ) with a lot of games made before and after WoW. In fact, the standarization comes to shorten the time it takes for a new user to get used to the game interface. You'll experience this with 95% of all the new mmorpg, being good or bad is totally out of the question.

Here you have the facts. Now continue headbanging the wall.

I don't care if the game copies the interface of anther game, what I care about is that there are unique features and not the same old boring thing in each and every game because the developers cannot be bothered to use their heads and think of different things to make their game more interesting. Cabal is good because they made different characters and/or gave them different names such as force blader and force shielder are unique.

RF online is possibly the worst mmorpg i've played so far....
First of all a ton of "Still-in-development" games these days (Gates to Heaven comes to mind) "copies" interface from other games, its not copying really because they understand that it is "user-friendly" and that ultimately appeals to us, the gamers. I havnt play Cabal yet so i cant comment on how similar are the two, but even if they r 100% the same, WoW's interface is taken from a lot of the older generation MMOs, and they did a good job combing them, so i wouldnt be surprised if they did copy it. But how can u judge a game base on the interface? That alone gives me the idea that u r either a fanboi, excuse me, fangal or simply very immature. I will not back Cabal online since i've not played it, but if u r bashing a game base on an interface u really need to reconsider what games are suited for u.

the game needs improvement, it starts off very clunky and not so smooth..

the trailer is what prompted me to try it, in it it shows it very action based, like a real action game , with combos and everything.
    very fluid and reflexive.

in truth, the game lags like crazy, not bad bad lag, but often once you have used one or two skills, the game pauses, both you and the monster, for a second, and then the combat continues.
and i know its not my computer or the connection, since ive got cable and a pretty fine computer.
it slows down combat basicly, makes it less immersive.

the game as a whole feels like diablo 2, but with a couple of action based attacks, like a rather cool dodge skill where you leap backwards.

the other thing that attracted me was it loked very scifi, technological.
with giant mechanical spiders, dark barren wastelands (kinda post apocaliptic) and GUNS.

turns out the game is an entire fantasy setting for the first part, including killing sabertooth bunnies, and tribal monkies, along with using magical bows to kill said critters.
along with the towns being made from wood and straw..

as long as you want a 'slightly' and i stress slightly, more action orientated version of diablo 2, with fairly nice graphics (because yes, it does at least look kinda pretty) then its a good game for you.

personaly i dont want to have to wait to hit near the max level to get guns, the level cap being, what 60? and guns are avalible at level 50 onwards.

the quests that ive encountered are kinda.. lame.
granted its better than nothing, but all they are is 'Kill X of Y monster type" or "kill this monster untill it drops Z quest item"
theres not really too much to be psyched about in my opinion.
mind you i may be spoiled, since i tend to play the bigger budget mmorpgs, like CoV and WoW.

the quest status display in the combat log is handy though,

    you gain 20 exp
    you gain 30 exp
    'you have killed 7/10 monkeys"
    you gain 25 exp

Yet another mmo I thought would be good, ended up being crap.

Nice game in a way, has the item box thing like mu online, has GWs death penelty, combo system is wack, graphics are nothing like how the vids show to be. Fair grinding, but over all the games wack, I really thought this games gonna be good but it tured up nothing like how it was shown on vid, when the game comes out for P2P, I rather pay for Runescape than this, but this is what I think nothing against the Cabal players. Although a LOT of improvements would make the game better.

    I give this game a 5.0.....

why are you all complaining about how bad this game is? It's still in beta! And no there are no monkeys to fight in this game, community is good in this game unlike other games, although some idiots think it's funny to spam on the shout box, there's always someone to talk to in global chat. I don't really care about interface although I did lke Mu Online (www.globalmuonline.com), that game kept me going for a few weeks which is actually the maximum. And Runescape is crap (This is almost the hundredth time I've said that to people on this site)!

(Edit: And for some abnormal reason the text went green halfway through this post!)

For the last time I will say, that is what I thought about cabal, and again you saying RS is crap is what you think, though I don't play RS anymore, its features and community owns most mmos, if it had better graphics better battel system it would own. I don't see why you try to defend a game, a game is a game you take it to seriousely. Its just comments of what people think.

runescape is just nasty, its out dated and no, the community as a whole is freaking awfull.
(how on earth you can say its great is insane)
there are so many childish players who can play for free just running around saying 'noob this or noob that'
its got pretty bad systems, and basicly most of the 'defining' things it has, are copies of an old game known as ultima online.
which also had a player looting system.

no, id rather pay for cabal than runescape, because i would rather stick a wooden spoon up my butt than play runescape >.<

cabal is too muhc like every other asian mmo, it just looks alittle oiffernt because it has a diablo perspective

lol i like being right in the end cause in another thread about cabal everyone was too excited testing it and i told them not to wait and see "fantastic" things cause i tryed the korean beta and i said the same thing "WTF this has nothing to do with the videos i've seen"...but the didnt listen...

Tormented echoes of a fallen Eden
    I longed for her beauty
    Yet from dust, she returned
    The dream, an enigma.... silent

a million flies eat dog turd, does that mean you should? heh. they dont know any better.
the only reason they play it is because runescape is free.
    nothing more.

its like the fischer price 'babys first mmorpg'
you either play that, or toon town to strt the addiction young.

  • Rayth3onRayth3on Member UncommonPosts: 146

RS is f2p/p2p, this game has all ages so if you got a problem with 10 year olds fooling around make friends that are older, that goes for all games not just RS.

And this post became all about RS when its about cabal, stick with the subject....

Just cuse I said I rather pay for RS don't mean you all gotta write crap about what you like and what you dont, not many people care what you say, its just what you think as a comment so far in the game.

    Anywho...

I'm just wondering if a game like this is a good filler till everygame in development I'm waiting to go live.. goes live.  Is it just me or is it really boring on the mmo front nowadays?  I feel hyped up for some big release that ends up being crap.. so I wait around for the next big release.  I guess I can waste time in Space Cowboy then.

    note you said no monkeys..
    http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b112/kaikaiAA/cabalmonkey.jpg
    check the link..
those are monkeys.. no, really, they arent furry little people, they are monkies, at least play more than one area before you assume there are no monkeys in the game..

    anyway.

Rayth3on, i want to clarify what i said,  the players were childish and immature, that doesnt mean how old they really are, its how they act, in this case they act like a bunch of children.

but yeah we ae getting away from the point of the topic.

the point is.. there are monkeys in this game.. therefore it sucks..

    wait.. thats not right.

    =P
well there ARE monkeys in the game and it does suck, at least, its nothing special to write home about.
i'd rather play the free to play newby land of saga of ryzom, which is acutaly a much more carefully made game, and acutaly has something different than just grinding for levels.. and killing monkeys

  • Rayth3onRayth3on Member UncommonPosts: 146

Ok now that we are back to the topic again, the reason I did not enjoy this game is it turned up nothing like the vids, combo systems wack and graphics are no were near the ones on the vid, but I think thats my fault because I pust my Open GL and Direct 3D to high preform, but the rest of the games the same thing as any other old korean mmo.

I just got into closed beta this morning..although i notice it's been running for sometime already.

Game has nice graphics which have a solid clean feel..unlike the grainy/stick figure offerings i have had the misfortune to sample.

Sound effects could be better..more meatier hits ( if you get my meaning)

Quests are standard run here kill that come back get reward..which is a good thing imho..after L2 i'm fed up with vague quest locations...if i'm going to do a quest , then dammit let me :p.

Skill/Xp/ingame currency/drops from what i have seen it's all pretty standard..as you know all Mmorpgs like to add a spin on previous offerings..in the end though it all boils down to you..ie: if you have the time to play and grind you'll reap the rewards.

Everytime a new mmorpg comes out you hear "OMG GRIND FEST !! " but how else do you expect to level ? players who moan about grinding are kidding themselves ..it's like having a penalty shootout can you think of a better way to settle it ?

There will always be "Hardcore" and "Casual" Gamers who play the same Mmorpgs , each having their own personal style of play.

Conlcusion..if the monthly fee is agreeable i'd play it.

Well, most games has grinding, but cabal has a fair amount of grinding but lol there to many quests it gets boring after a point, sure thers a lot to do but its just running around killing a monster a few times, well that is just boring after a while, see a game needs more features than having a lot to do, so if a game has a lot to do and has a lot of features you cant really get bored as fast.

Ok going of topic for a sec, you think mmos grind a lot when you lvl, take conquer online for one, no grinding what so ever till maybe 105+... then its fair to lvl. That game you just get plvled to 70 and the rest is just fun, plus you can reborn your self 2 more times, so the fast lvling wont end getting you at max lvl and making you end up quitting, well now I dont paly it anymore cuse I got bored, but thats an example of a good rpg to me.
