    it's cause people were calling and emailing them. corp comm hates that and reacts quickly when that happens.

    Has anyone heard from Smed himself? Why didn't he make the statement?

    Because he actually died last week, ad they had him frozen like Walt Disney.

    He will be kept in his office and will take the blame for everything. The upside is that his productivity has increased tenfold!

    I don't blame Smed, he seems like a nice guy set out to make money. I personally blame LA because their the people who decide what to do with it at the end of the day

    Call me crazy, but I am going to withhold judgement on calling the OP a liar just yet... If their is one thing I have learned about SoE is that they have made an ART out of bold-face lieing to their customers.

    For the longest time, The NGE was just a rumor, and The Starter Kit was only a KoToR II misprint, and Tiggs wasn't fired or left SoE.... All these were lies told to us until THEY chose the time to make such "rumors" public knowledge.

    So again, Due to their history of lieing to dispell "romurs"  only to  to prove them true days or weeks later, I am not jumping out of the hope-boat just yet.

    No, in a publicly traded company like Sony, a rumor like this can cause the stock to drop in value...well, drop in value even more than it already has.  That's why they have to be quick to discount them.

    Although, I would wager a guess that this particular rumor could actually cause the stock value to rise.

    Actually, I would think that any company that isn't ready to announce such a large issue would deny it until ready.

    Still, can you imagine what is going on at SOE now if Smed isn't being fired?  I mean, so many calls, emails, and posts from people that would be excited at Smedley being canned.

    That has got to make Smedley feel good :p

    Well knowing Sony's track record with public announcements.....
    Usually when they say something isnt it almost always a lie?
    If they deny Smed being fired or quiting then that means they are preparing for a proper public
    announcement in due time explaining that they are changing the Pres.
    Wouldnt believe the first thing that comes out of Sony's mouth thats for sure.
    Hasnt the predictions and rumors from the playerbase of SWG always been correct cough cough NGE?
    Anyways no point in letting our hopes die out that quick just because Sony responded with more of "Sony BS".
    We will see....And hope.
