are there any games that are going into the talking into a mic to communicate instead of typing phase yet?...i know some games, but not any mmorpgs
The only MMORPG that I know offhand that intends to utilize voice chat is Microsoft's and Level 5's True Fantasy Live Online for the X-Box. The voice set has different voice types for players to choose according to what I've read. But I haven't followed this title for some time now and changes may have occurred.
but, I'm actualy happy that no good mmorpg's will come out until summer, cuz AC really took my time, and I did crappy in school.
LOL! Please don't jinx us because you couldn't manage your online/offline time... I have kids,a job and run my own business and still have time to play games. Just don't play the game till summer break. Hang out on this website and read about what you are missing!!

Not necessarily true. SWG was in production since around 1998 and it sucks lemons

As opposed to a bunch of overweight and underage internet geeks getting together pretending to be hot elven ladies in tight revealing outfits fighting orcs and whatnot...
lol, point taken....but I still don't see CoH being too successful. I mean look at the hype with SWG when it was almost out. Hell, you think the world was coming to an end.
As I would hate to see any mmorpg fail, I hope Im wrong about CoH. I just find the idea of no PvP and being stuck in a city unappealing to me (I dont count arenas PvP really)
Im not dissing the game....I just dont think it'll last as a high-end mmorpg longer than a year

All I want is a good mmorpg, personally I must say I haven't found a game as addicting as UO used to be back in the 90s
One problem is that companies have to appeal to a mass market if they want to make lots of money and that usually takes them in so many directions that overall the games turn out with alot of features that are half asses or too few features to make it a pleasurable experience. Also I blame the publishers, they ruined many a good game with their meddling.

I find myself continuously going back to what I know as being tried and true. I started playing Asheron's Call in Dec 1999 and still to this day have a lot of fun with it.
Any of the newer games that have come on the market have been horrible in regards to game mechanics, or sheer boredom.
I like AC, however there is always that hope that a new, great game will present itself. Seems most gaming companies forget that as a whole, if you release a subpar game with a lot of issues, or no content, you might get a lot of buyers initially who bought based on the expectations and hype, but a lot of those buyers will cancel their subscription.

Beleive me it ain't just you.... I've tried everything out, just to try and nada. I played AC2 for almost 10 months. Moved on to SWG and ended up going back to AC2 it sucked bad. Then moved on to DaOC got tired of it, then moved on to FFXI and I played it for the free month. So just like everyone else I'm waiting for a good mmorpg to come out.
Originally posted by Typhone Basically every thing since and around AO has been a crap game only made to make money, here is my mmo history uo "my first mmo" played 6years quit a few times always went back also played on player run. ac lasted 3 days couldent stand the graphics, as I had gotten sick of uo's graphics as well eq maybe a week tried twice so maybe a week and 2 days, couldent stand that game hrm gets a bit iffy now lineage 2 days graphics again AO maybe 1-2 months got sick of the zoneing and some other stuff motor city online "don't laugh" probly 6-10 months quit once daoc several months no houseing no player run vendors no fun quests boring game even the pvp was boring shadowbane week "total and utter crap" ac2 month or 2 good game needed lots of work eve online month neacron 2 hours crap game horizons about 5 days total crap planetside 3 months swg 2-4 months so so I have quit now can't stand 1 char per server nor the skill system a bunch of other low budget crap mmo's Lineage 2 Taiwan beta, 4 days so far think its a intresting pvp based game so far. Cant wait for the north american beta. I think that lists the main ones, as you can see I have vast experiance playing crap mmo's lol and my personall opinion is that most of these have been rushed to marked just to make money on the "mmo hype" I am still waiting for ultima-online 2 to come out rofl UOX is not what im refering to above.....
Man you like to waste money don't you??? Seriously try finding some info before wasting you hard earned c-notes!
As for me UOX seems promising, but for now FFXI is getting the most play.....next to mame32....

All mmorpg appeal to someone else in a different way.
So the only way you can find whats right for you is actually trying it out.
So yes i myself must have bought a lot of them.list i can recall off head AC,AC2,EQ,AO,horizons,UO,FFXI,shadowbaneSWG,DAoC.
Some i was lucky to beta and find out for myself.
And you know what to me they all sucked but EQ and DAoC.
But if i did not try them i would not know which i liked and which not. When i played UO players there said EQ sucked but i took the chance and bought it and never came back to UO again or thought of it.
And yes I am waiting for a game to bring back my love of mmorpgs like EQ and DAoC.
No review I have ever read has done a mmo justace you really have to try them to get a feel, alot of them I am able to beta test, but some I am forced to buy to try.
I have probly played about 20-30 mmo games and have probly only paid for about 10.
Pluss gaming is my life, money is not really an issue in regards to finding a quality game. Of course I don't buy crap non mmo games, I am very good at finding good regular games and not buying the lemons, not to mention after getting sick of them I re sell them on ebay.
Hopefully 2004 will be promising, with 4 New games im looking forward too, I hope atleast 1 of them holds me over for a couple months or longer. UXO - Lineage 2 - WOW - EQ2. as someone said earlier there hasnt really been any good games in the past 2 years.. UO back in the day DAOC and EQ are probably my all time games ( put most my time into them ) I want a game where my time invested feels worth it. or a good long time goal. all these new games are just get rich quick scams. 1-2monthers. ( FFXI ) i just canceled my DAOC account today for the 4rth time since the game came out. The next mmorpg to hit the shelves i will be buying.
Ive tried every mmorpg out there except Horizons ( waiting for free trial end of this month ) and WWII online and not really sure if that is even a mmorpg. Hate looking in my shelf to see all these online games that sucked and you cant even play them unless you go pay More money to get your account back online.
And while im waiting for the next mmorpg, im playing a pretty damn old game LOL ( remindes me of UO a little )
its free right now it used to be dransik which i never actually tried... i installed this game 2 nights ago and its kind of fun, been farming for about 2 days now.

I think we're seeing the end of a generation of mmorpg's, they all get boring after a month or so...
but, I'm actualy happy that no good mmorpg's will come out until summer, cuz AC really took my time, and I did crappy in school.
