2+ weeks and no communication....

in Star Wars Galaxies
I'm curious as hell as to whats goin on over there... They have main people go on vacation... No one has seen hide nor hair of a dev (other than pex and 2 comments from another dev)... Its way to quiet.. I cant remeber them going this long wihtout saying something...

Having access to a billion $ IP - Billions of dollars..
Having access to a massive fan base of said IP - Even more Billons...
Singly handedly alienating them due to stupidity - Priceless.

    Maybe we will get lucky and they will annouce the servers are going dark in 30 days.  But I doubt it.  Probably just that people are on vacation and haven't had time to post.

    So they roll out a major event (which is broke like no other), then send everyone on vacation... I guess SOE is dumb enough to do this...

    I have as must contempt for SOE as anyone, but their devs despite the terrible things they do to the game have wives and children and this is a very popular time to take a vacation.   I don't mind cutting them some slack.  Besides, generally every single do to the game makes it worse. I wish they had gone on a permanent vacation right after JTL was launched.   Thats when the game was at its peak.

    The people that talk to you In game and on the Forus, are not the people that develop the game, they have absultly no imput in to haw the game is run, and where its future lies.  If you want contempt then have it at the bosses of the  developers, thats right the only people to blame for this are the top, top people that ordered everyone else to do this crap

    As for the lack of staff, there does not seems to be any on the WoW forums either

    WoW at least is a stabel and complete game.. I cant say the same for SWG... There has been ZERO communication.. You dont send people on vacation when you are promising the event will be the savior of SWG... Not to mention even the Managers / Producers are no where to be found...

    Chapter2 should be released in 3-4 days (according to chapter1 press release every 6 weeks there is a new chapter) and it is NOT even on TC nor any chapter plan update has been posted. I suppose they are working 150%...or left the place and now are at the beach (that is more probable :p)

    To sum it up, another ridiculous and improductive information breach. I hope there is something going on and today later we are going to seen some info.

    They dont use TC to test the stuff.. They jsut use TC now to let the players try stuff out according to Helios... As far as them working... Call me cynical but I dont beelive it... Usually they pop in and comment on this or that.. So far NOTHING aside form Pex, and my last IM to him had a response of (I asked about the NGE) "I wasn't present for those meetings"..

    To be honest I could only hope for SOE to get fired for this crap... I know I know.. Just irritated about their contempt for thir player base..

    I was just on sonys web site and their dev tracker is full of recent posts from devs and community staff... What did you mean when you said no one has seen them?

    All of them but a few are from PEX... HJes not a DEV.. Hes an event coordinator for in game stuff.. Helios, De_Vapor and TH made some useless comments... There is no communication.. They are telling us what they are fixing in regaurds to restuss... About the upcoming expertise stuff... NO COMMUNICATION>... The last time a dev commented on something was 4 days ago.. after that you are going back almost a full week to find anything from TH (who is back from vbacation)... Before that your going back 2weeks +....

    well dev communication has never been anything to write home about but the last time it was this bad was right before the NGE hit. Based on past experiences you gotta think something is churning in the background. My guess would be an announcement on an expansion to be announced at the SOE / LA communist summit later this week.... "NGE is good for game...." "Commrad Smed is doing very good job"... "No lag on restuss... Many many player like NGE and Restuss" ..."Players leaving SWG no true. game is very very good"

    Something is up. A lot of the galaxies has been ready for the next phase of restuss. But no action from the devs.
    The game is more laggy, graphics dont seem the same as they used to.
    Its like its dying....

    its Dev_Vapor and helios is also a dev... TH is even a dev. I know hiw job is community manager but about 2 years ago he actually said he does dev work as well.

    I just looked again to see what you are talking about and I still don't understand. This is nothing out of the ordinairy for this team. You are looking for a fire at the bottom of a lake my friend. Nothing here to see but us fishs.

    This silence always happens after a major approar . Restuss was a failure and the playerbase all but rioted . It is quite normal for the devs to not post for a while after such . I'd give people time to cool down to .

    That is a contributing factor, no doubt, but silence has always worsened rioting, not made it any better.

    They are silent either because:

    1. They literally have nothing to say (uhh, we have a major publish coming with skill trees and another combat change, definately stuff there they should be talking about)

    2. What they have to say if they said it would only lead to more rioting (just like the silence before the NGE).

    we all want this to mean pre-cu is coming back but we know it's not gonna be that. all it means is they're working on more crap that no one wants. ok, 2% want it.

    every time they go silent I start to think maybe this is it, maybe they're all getting their ass kicked by george lucas himself. but them they post more lies and more bullshit about how great restuss is going and how they're all packing 12" so we should worship them.

    Probably both.  They are only days away from another major release, and I'd bet things aren't working right.  They're probably burning the midnight oil to try and get it ready.  However, those who've been around longer on the project know it won't be ready even if it goes live, so they've taken vacation and left the junior people to sweat over it.

    actually they're busy working on other SOE projects. But dont worry, LA is told theyre still being used for SWG.

    They will show up in few days with a "What will we do list", full of lie for sure, and it will make people hope yet again from NGE. So SOE will win once again on "fooling customers"

    Well, I agree they're always real quiet after a publish or expansion.  There hasn't been alot of give and take between SOE staff and community after a biggie since before the CU, methinks.

    They have the Summit later this week so may be working on stuff to present there.  And don't forget the SOE Block party.  Also the Comic-Con is this week, I'm not sure about Admrikers staff sharing theories but I'm sure they (SOE) are really pushing for a good presentation of the DC Comics mmo.  They have alot of hopes riding on that I think.  Busy behind the scenes doggies if you look at all that stuff.
