SOE/LA has snuck one past the players, getting them to pay for in-game items

And look at the ridiculous comments from some players. They are so desparate for content they are willing to shell out $30 for a game they already own just to get another vehicle.
And folks wonder why SOE/LA dont care about fixing the game ? Why should they when the puppies that pay them will sit, roll over, and play dead for a stupid vehicle.
And yet these very same players would vehemently object to buying credits, toons, items off ebay. They just arent smart enough to realize thats exactly what they are doing now, only SOE is reaping the rewards.
Face facts folks, SOE will never roll the game back or offer pre-cu servers as long as the remaining player base is so blatantly stupid. In essence, we are stuck with NGE thanks to the remaining players...for shame.

Honestly, anybody who does buy this for the in-game items is just encouraging a very bad business practice. "Want this new item we developed? Sure! Pay us 25 bucks on top of your regular subscription fee and it's yours! You want new missions? By all means! That'll be 40 bucks, please. Another vehicle? Why not? Just give us 80 bucks and we'll ship it straight to you."

It's shameful, it's despicable and whatever fools buy into this are playing right into SOE's hand. Smedley's new business model of paying real money for in-game items is already showing itself right here, right now. And some people still don't recognize that. Honestly, something like this should be a veteran reward, not a new-player gift. New players get a functional walker for signing up, while I'm stuck with a hologram collection to commemorate an account with over 1000 days logged on it? Am I seriously the only one that sees the problem with this?!
Since he can post, he's obviously still paying for the game. SOE isnt about to change their tactics when someone whines and yet still pays them.
It took 3 years, but I think I have finally lost all hope for this game.

Perhaps by posting you have initiated that 2 week trial they give to vets to come back and check it out. See how long it lasts.

As for the topic, 75% of the reason I didn't buy the first expansion that came with a speeder was because of the speeder. Even though it was actually an expansion it still felt too lame with that vehicle thrown in there. (Of course, the other 25% was the fact that I was a Merchant.)

Honestly? Not to go contrary to most people here but in the last 2 months I was subscribed(ends in 2 days) it seemed like the population was getting a bit stronger. Nothing like it used to be of course but Eisley is usually quite crowded and you can run into random peoples here in there when out in the wilds.
I think that its the unofficial pilot server and rp server have alot going for it. It brings people in with that. My friendslist is still as dark as ever so maybe they have been able to get some influx of new players there.

You're almost right. The 2 week trial lets you post, but the 2 week time limit doesn't start until you log in game. My alt account was cancelled before NGE and I've been able to post there for months. As long as I don't log in with the account I can keep posting there for free.
