Arrests made in San Diego attacks on gay men

I'm so glad they caught these jerks.  And if there are more then I hope they find them too.

It makes me sick that there are people living in my town like this.

They said on the news here that there is a rise in these hate crimes going on across the nation right now.  I hope it ends.

There were more that they haven't caught?

Dang, people can really do some messed up things.  I'm sure they feel justified though.  Probably a lot of people in society cheering them on.  Or people who will say that the gay people got what they deserved.

I read something the other day too that said these crimes were on the climb in the last few months around America.  Great, we're going backwards I guess.

I wonder if there is some organized group doing it?  I know there are some skin heads that hand out flyers around Dallas sometimes.   They are getting more organized around here because of the Mexican protests we had a few months ago.  The flyers put down Mexicans, Jews, and homosexuals saying that they are organized to destroy this nation.

They don't know if they caught all of them.  They said there may be a large group of them still in San Diego.
One of the guys that got beat up is in really bad condition.

I don't understand it.  How can somebody be driven to do something like this?  I mean, any kind of violence against another person is bad, but what fuels this kind of hatred for someone you don't even know?

It's amazing to see what people will do to make themselves feel better.  I guess I'm somewhat of a homophobe but the only thing I'll do to a gay person is try to make them change they're ways (because its actually a sin to be gay because you aren't continuing the human race).  All of my morals are based off of the bible, so I don't hate the person, it's just I don't like the fact that they're gay...

    Good to see for sure,

But i kind of doubt it's a rising trend, sounds like the type of thing people like to put in news stories to give them that extra "zing", things we're infinately worse even just 5 or 10 years ago, gay rights and gay people in general are pretty well accepted now in our society, but your always going to have idiots, black people still meet racists occasionally, and gay people are probably always going to meet homophobes sometimes, but glady both of those types are in much lower numbers now than any other time in history, well with the exception of the roman era where homosexuality was the norm.

    Heres my philosophy about homosexuality.

    Just don't care.
Unless it is directly affecting you, like they are checking out your ass or coming onto you,
you don't need to do anything, you don't need to convert them, or beat them, or whatever,
just leave them the hell alone.

Sorry to change the subject, but I'm just curious about what you mean.

I'm straight, but I don't want children.  I'm not the "parenting" type.  I don't mind doing some things around the community to help out (like volunteer and such) but I made the decision a long time ago that I just don't want to have kids.  A lot of straight people do that.  So am I a sinner too?

Good question! I'm in the same boat. Dogs are much easier than kids.

I've read the passage about choosing not to have kids but I can't remember where it is, but I think it was equal to it, don't pin me down to that statement because I haven't been reviewing the Bible as much as I should anymore.  I'll try and look for it later..

I personally think its funny (Not saying you bro) but those people with signs that say "God hates gays". It brings the question. Why would he create something he hates? Does he get distracted and then poof a gay person. Then he goes "Oh damn it not another gay I hate those!"

One of my brothers Gay friends died recently, but not because of the brutal beating people tried to lay on him.
The guy was a black belt in Karate...

Oh and he lives in Missouri, redneck ville so you're gay you're in a bad spot.

This guy would kick so much ass..., he owned a restraunt; and people would come in and tear it up all the time cause they knew the owner was gay.
Well he would lay a serving of ass-whooping on them.

Poor guy died because of a car accident.

He had to defend his establishment from people trying to destroy his livelihood because he's gay?

Those people are retarded with the signs that say "God hates gays".  God does not hate gay people, he loves all of his children, but he does not like the idea of homosexuality...

At any time in your life did you think, "Oh man I hate every kid in the world, I'm deciding right now that I'm never going to have one!" if you did then yes you're a sinner.  If you decided not to have kids for a good reason (because of one complication or another) then God, nor I would consider you a sinner.  Even if it was a less extreme it might be frowned upon but I wouldn't exactly call it sinning.

Just because someone decides they don't want children doesn't mean that they hate them.  I just don't want to be a parent.  I don't think my life is incomplete just because of the fact that I didn't reproduce.  I just simply don't want to have kids.  I love kids, they're fun to play with, I just don't want my own.

How dare I lead such a sinful lifestyle!!??  Hahaha.

I think you're wrong.  Otherwise, all the people who take a vow of celibacy would be going to hell.

No one said that choosing not to have children will lead you into a sinful lifestyle.  Also celibacy is for dfiferent reasons, like swearing off it to focus your energies to a more religious life.

Ugh.. okay, let my try and explain.. choosing to be gay is to not continue the human race and pursuing pleasure for your own gains, choosing to not have children for a good reason is acceptable but if there is no reason then yes it is frowned upon.

Ok, ok. Family Guy, is just a cartoon. There really are not babies born with dictatorial complexes with a hate for the family matriarch, and bent on world domination - So building on that, babies are not gay - No one is born gay.

God did not create gay people; he gave everyone a free will - By your logic, you could say that "Why did God create Stalin, or Hitler?"

    Completely illogical.

God created your mind, body, and spirit and everyone else's including every single person you will meet. God created your conscious and unconscious. Basically what i'm saying is because everything is God's creation including your ability to make decisions and recieve influence then God being omnipotent should know the future of His creations inside and out.

I thought you were an agnostic... but anyway

    @aldaron:

First off, Kyoruto was just trying to be funny.  Second of all, according to the teachings of Jesus, God doesnt "hate" anyone, he just disapproves of what they do.

Can you prove that babies are not just born gay? No.  The same thing goes the otherway.  It is just stubborn and idiotic to try to argue either side, because you have no information to back it up.  Now, don't say that God doesn't make people gay as fact, because you can't prove that.  Beliefs =/= facts.

Also, I don't understand why people say that it is not possible that there is a god, because that is equally as stubborn.
