What is everyone listening to?

I just wanted to see what kind of music you guys are listening to.  Or any specific songs?  I more of a rap and hip hop guy, but I will listen to anything if it is good.

Lots of Hard Rock, you know, Like Mudvayne, Disturbed, Rob Zombie (Didn't like him for a while, but I'm coming to respect more of his stuff now) and plenty of other good stuff.

Erm, a rather bizzare mix of Wumpscut, Tool, Prodigy, Juno Reactor, Delerium, Polish Rap, and single songs of varying genres inbetween.

You probably wont like it, but here goes. I like Cradle of filth, dark funeral, a norwegian black metal band by the name of dimmu borgir, and I just recently started listening to a band called Nightwish...pretty impressive female singer. Also, slayer is a classic.

Why do so many people like heavy metal?  Just can't get into it.  Too much noise and yelling.  Doesn't appeal to me.

To each their own I guess.

No one acctually likes heavy metal, they just cant admit to their family members they like rap or they would be banned from the family.

Idk, cradle of filth is very melodic and orderly with everything they do. I don't realy consider Dani Filth's voice to be a seperate instrument that needs to be appreciated and understood in its own way. I can't understand most of what is being said, so I just enjoy the song for what it is, then read the lyrics and just connect the meaning rather then connecting it with the voice. Also the lyrics are all brilliant poetry, not just garbage. I also think the use of a keyboard in metal bands in general can add a lot to the experience.

I must admit, I find it hard to get into some death metal bands... Idk, some vocals I like and some I dont. There are great differences between vocalists.  I find death metal slightly less enjoyable then the more melodic black metal, but thats just me.

If you consider it "noise", then its probably more haphazard then well organized sounding. You may find you can appreciate black metal more then some other bands that tend to have a more "haphazard style" like slayer (which I love btw, not bashing slayer, just stating that its less "orderly")

I personally like heavy metal, black metal and symphonic metal in peticular because...When I listen to black metal, I get the sinister mix of heavy guitars and a roaring organ...and the vocals only add to the affect. If the vocals aern't done right, it can get annoying though.

Believe it or not most of these guys can actually sing properly, and I think it requires more skill to reach say...Dani Filth's range than it does to sing normally...also imagine what that does to your voice box...Ill bet it hurts, and keeps on hurting for a long time untill your throat and voicebox get used to that, if ever.

I never thought heavy metal was THAT popular tho...Most of the people around where I live listen to rap hip hop, heh. But, as you said, to each his own.

Not realy, my parents are hard core catholic. I think they'd prefer me listen to stuff about bling, bustin caps in people, and hoes then music that sounds like it is sung by satan. Also, the premise of black metal is much more controversial then rap. people can tolerate the stuff in rap, but someone screams the word "hail satan" and everyone goes quiet...rather funny to see how people react to anti-christion beliefs.

And that's why I listen to music with no words.
