AoC, a breath of fresh air in a very tired out genre
No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main. any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind, and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee. Hemingway
There are a few different things I generally insist on from a game. crafting, mounts and player housing / land control. Most new games coming out can only manage 1 or 2 of these features. Hopefully Conan will do them all justice.
The only other game that really seems to be offering all the things I look for is Vanguard... the SOE thing makes me really hesitant to get excited about that one.
i'll jump on the wagon here.....AGE OF CONAN!! Everything i've seen so far looks outstanding. I'm burnt out on the mmogs of today.....besides EVE. Warhammer looks interesting too, but AoC looks so unique. I think a dev might actually be making a good mmo!! fancy that!!
Also, Pirates of the Burning Sea has been intrigueing me for a while now. It seems it's been bogged down in production for a while, but it is certainly an interesting concept for a mmog.
I've just checked out the new vids and interviews on AoC website (http://ageofconan.com)....and i want it!!!!!! I really hope it is the WOW-Killer. It looks fresh, and engaging....and not very boring. And graphics look amazing....but that's one of the back-burner issues.....gameplay and story are my biggest concerns. Also, the char creation system looks quite vast!!
AoC looks great and all but i will wait and see on it.Funcom did a bit of a blunder with AO(their only other mmorpg). If they learnt from it then it be amazing. If not then it will be another AO.
Age of Conan has me the most excited by far. Let's get some mature content going! Leave the cartoony graphics for WoW, dark and gritty is where it's at.
As an MMO veteran I'm not interested in another PVE level treadmill, it's all the same thing different graphics.
Looking forward to WAR for the large scale PVP, RVR ftw. I only hope they support the RVR more than fast food instances since I have no interest in craptastic instanced PVP.
Tabula Rasa of course, the only upcoming MMO who is not a clone, the only one being genuine (not based on an IP) with real work involved (not just being lazy and copying the IP's background), it's a scifi PvE MMO with that. Tabula Rasa FTW!
Age of Conan just seems way too dark for me to play. Call me a carebear I dont care lol!. I would go play vanguard but the fact that brad has been insulting other gaming companies almost routinely sortve makes me not want to play the game. Not to mention he has got to be the biggest attention freak of all time.
