But it'd have to be pre-CU. No CU.
Unfortunately if SOE does classic servers at all they will most likely choose CU because the expansions would work.
I might have even stayed with NGE if they hadn't messed with the targeting. I can not stand the twitch and the new interface.
Yes
Even if they did f*ck it up again, I would most likely get at least a year and a half out of it. And by then, there might be something comparable on the market.
I realize I said I quit. I never said it was forever
I would prefer any flavor other then the NGE.

I'll start my own SWG... with Black Jack... and Hookers!!!
In fact, forget the SWG!!!!
NGE is dead. It has no hope of bringing the numbers back to what they used to be at this rate.
I would come back.
What a lot of people don't understand is that yes people left through all versions of the game.
I left trying to make a point about CH like 3 times during Pre-Cu, but i always came back.
I realized that I still loved the game and wanted to play.
In addition to that, I think a lot of players just took a casual break from the game. Take a couple of months to recharge the batteries. It was a game with real obligations and sometimes that wore on people.
It bugs me to hear "well pre-cu lost a lot more players than the NGE".
That may be true but...
1) In Pre-Cu, players came back.
2) The game was larger so losing 10K players out of 250K in month is still proportionally less than losing 5K out of 100K. If you want to play with the number and justify your stupidity, then I guess you can play with the numbers any way you'd like.
Anyway, had they focused on making the game better, the numbers would have gone up and down, but would have averaged out at a respectable level.
Another thing - had they done exactly what they did with expertise and focused on 2 profs a month, all the profs would have been completed about 2 times over by now. All 32 of them.

i would too. i been gone alot longer than most of ya, but i do miss it.
i would like to play my master ranger again, and if they opened a new, old school server i think eveyrone would be back there building up cities again from nothing would be a blast.
If it's Pre-CU, I'd be back in a second.
If it was CU, I'd have to think about it, but I'd probably still come back.

Pass ... they'd just screw it up the same way they did the first time around pre-CU. No interest in my subscription dollars subsidizing their incompetence.

It sounds great, so great in fact, I pitty those who canceled - Some deluded SWG fanboi who pities me.
I don't like it when you say things. - A Vanguard fan who does too.

Pre CU - definitely
CU - maybe, depends which publish
Yes, I'd come back for any pre-NGE version.
The only way that will change is if, in addtion to the semi-annual lip service they make to changing their way of doing business, they ACTUALLY changed it, and kept it changed for a substantial period of time, to prove to me that they were once more worthy of my trust. Otherwise, forget it. I don't trust them.

I'm a sucker for game company abuse...I'd probably come back for a Pre-CU server (probably not servers). I'm such a sucker I activated to try out NGE and then cancelled after 1-2 nights of trying it. One server is plenty, the thing that would make me quit the fastest isn't lag, it's an empty server. I think it's a huge joke how they haven't closed servers yet. As much fun as 20 (or even 200) active people on a server is... Too bad SWG had a terrible MMO engine when it came to the MM part. I'm not sure if they fixed it, but I remember a 50 man base raid crashing the area, eveyone just got paused in step. lol The $OE solution? "Don't have events with more than 15 people." rofl gg $OE.
As it is, I'm not sure how long I'd last since none of the people who made SWG fun in the early days would be around.
I loved pre-CU, liked CU, absolutly hated NGE. I would be to afraid to lose all my time again. I never expierenced anything like what happened in Nov. I was 1/2-3/4 of the way through the village and it was all for naught. I can't even imagine how the guys who holo grinded felt. I'm still pissed about all that investigation xp I crawled through to unlock master Bounty Hunter. All of it was for nothing.
I don't think I would be able to bring myself to do that again in fears of them justing shutting down servers because it wasn't working out for SOE.
I just hope there is a KOTOR III in the works for xbox-360 thats online playable, until then I get my Star Wars fix with Legos II and Empire at War.
If we get the shaft again, screw 'em I can cancel again. Then all the good pub that went to SOE for opening classic servers would quickly be erased and place them back as the laughing stock of the gaming industry. I'm only out 15 bucks and I got to play the game I want again, even if only for a little while.
