No doubt, I would be there the very minute they announce classic servers are coming up. This is the only game that has kept me entertained. To bad the NGE ruined the fun we all had. I would love to start as a newb again too. nothing more fun than playing that game from ground up.

I remember one of my friends talking about player run pre CU/NGE servers floating around somewhere.
Depending on the server pop it would have to be re-coded to have less planets, god i miss old school swg. WoW sucked me into a downward spiral. I liked Vanguard the only reason i cancelled my sub is because every time i made a friend in that game, they were gone a week later.
I would for sure come back 100% and never leave. Still wouldn't make my feelings for SOE any better, but I would come back if it was back to when it first came out. I want it back to when the servers were hella laggy. When they were laggiest it was the best. So many people, raids, creatures, cars. ugggghhhh i'm tearing up.
I wonder if SOE realizes how much money they would make if they released a Star Wars Galaxies 2 designed similar to the way the game was pre-NGE or pre-CU. I would definitely buy it.
i dont know if this has been done before, probably, but anyway if you would come back to SWG if classic was rebooted just say i and leave your mark, an I would is all that is needed.
i would.
This horse is already dead...
Why do you continue to torment it so?
Stop kicking the horse and leave it rest.
We're not getting the old game back, things aren't going to change.

While I would abandon everything else to come back to a Classic SWG, or something similar to it, SOE really wouldn't make that much money either going back or making a new game. The original SOE just didn't become popular enough, at least not compared to some other MMOs on the market.
Remember that the whole point of the NGE was to try and make money. This obviously failed, and now the game has been relegated to mediocrity.
Unfortunately, there just aren't enough people out there who will play a skill based MMORPG designed around an open ended concept.
I still remember playing SWG for the first time, my first MMORPG, and doing some long range delivery mission so I could buy a CDEF Carbine on Tatooine. I'll never have that experience repeated, and it saddens me.
damm right i would.just get soe out of the way ...unlock 4 months before the nge... left days after the release of that crap..signed up2 month of release of swg O god i miss that game !!!!!!!
Trade in material assumptions for spiritual facts and make permanent progress.
I would go back so quickly if it were possible, gorath and to a lesser extent ahazi got more of my attention then my actual RL for such a long time hehe.
I stayed about a month into the NGE because a good friend of mine i met in the game was still there, basicly all i did for that month was sit in my house dump money into it and /tell all night. That was the kind of relationships i made in that game =( never have i been able to spend 6 hours doing something i hated (NGE) simply to talk with a friend, Im in WoW now but even there if i find theres nothing to do i will just log off. In WoW its impossible to "find something to do" which was so easy to do on SWG.

Hell! They can take my "elder" title away, the elder robe, my B'nars crystal, respec device, etc... I would gladly give up those things and more to go back to pre-NGE.
Game sucks nuff said. Put it behind you. plenty of new games coming, someone will get it right eventually, and then there will be milk and cookies for everyone...
The NGE destroyed the community which motivated me to put up with SWG's constant brokeness.
Bringing back the broken preCU will not bring back the community. Besides, SOE/LA cannot be trusted to not screw the game up again with one of their blockheaded "enhancements" and they still will not listen to the players. These are the twits who didn't understand why camps were fun.
CH, Jedi, Commando, Smuggler, BH, Scout, Doctor, Chef, BE...yeah, lots of SWG time invested.
I've never played SWG. I am a huge Star Wars fan but I was into EQ for a very long time so I missed the begining of SWG. However, I would never start playing it now from everything I've heard and read. If there was a classic server made though I would definately try it in a heartbeat.

Ok, my game history is as follow... I started swg back in publish 7 i think, the one where mounts was introduced. then i played it every day for about one and a half year but dropped it soon after NGE hit live. Answer to the first post in this thread is NO, hell no. I would never subscribe to a game that was as broken as it was back in those days. But this is not realy the point cause we know that will never happen. What did happen tho was that i resubscribed a month ago mainly because my old guildies that still played the game said it was on the right track and since then i have played a few hours almost every day and i am realy enjoying myself.
How is this you might ask?
Well, heres my share to the comunity...
The game has improved alot according to bugs
Nowdays if dueling or PvP it wont take an hour before one side win, the combat IS (let me use a word i like here) fast phased and fun.
Expertise did bring diversity back into the game.
new mechanichs around junkloot makes it possible to create your own skilltapes (this is just one of the many mechanichs in the game i like)
The list can go on and on...
Last thing worth meantioning tho is all old friends i see coming back ingame and enjoying themself aswell. A year ago, my guild (Lost on Gorath) had 1 or 2 active players who logged in once a week. Nowdays we are getting round the 50 mark and that is just old players coming back.
Lets not look back but instead look forward and cheer the new devteam cause they have done a great job so far.

I am enjoying the game currently. But i would love to see a classic server. I would drop all three of my current accounts to go play classic. Currently i wish the dev team would stop working on content and minor, more recent bugs. I wish they could go back to some basic long time problems and fix the shit. Some of the bugs have been around since pre-CU and still exist today. They need to repair animations, graphics, AI, Collision detection, Huge clipping problem, and pls do something about the uncanny ablity of trees to disappear and reappear. That in itself is retarded as all hell. Personally i have never played an MMORPG that did that with the landscape except SWG. All that and I'm still having some fun.

omg....I had forgotten about that. I had wanted to work to tracker (ranger?) in the past, but never did. I learned some scouting skills and could make a level 3 camp. I easily enjoyed even just the basic camps though.
I remember one day I logged in, but wasn't sure what I wanted to do...no one that I cared to quest with was on and I was feeling a bit worn out from work or school (don't remember which). I wandered around on Tatooine for a bit, then decided to bust out a camp. I took out a mouse droid for company and set him on a patrol route just for the hell of it. His beeps and chirps kept me company and the sound of the cracking fire soothed me. In first person view, I gazed into the flames and glowing embers on my screen and leaned back into my chair, IRL. I actually got the sensation of sitting outdoors in front of a campfire and felt very relaxed. I eventually nodded off for a short nap in front of my computer. I was amazed at how good the sound and graphics were (back then). So in short....yes. Camps were fun. And...no. These "twits" didn't understand that simple aspect of the game.
I'd go back if it were crafter driven, and not loot/expansion pack driven.. The old days were great, had a few elite crafters with uber vendors, and a few not so elite that would craft for people that were leveling up and didn't have the right proficiencies.
Now adays the only useful crafting is what.. architect, and tailor? Frick that.
I get sad every time I think back when the game was actually good, and wish there was a pre-cu... dumbass dev's.
I would go back, and thats really a reflection on the sad state of mmo's atm.. soe coulda created the best game ever if they just woulda fixed pre-cu bugs and added new content like they do with eq2. I still don't see wtf they where thinking! I don't think they would ever say ok guys theres to many balance issue's in eq2 lets kill all the classes and make a handfull of iconic proff.
