Dark and Light, NOTHING comes close, you havent seen crappy games if you havent suffered playing THIS pos. This game has it all, bugs, no content, no balancing, no performance, bad graphics, bad sound. All at premium price. Just the manifestation of the word CRAP. Period.
Then theres AO. Mourning Horizons -
And ppl, get real, games like WoW, Ryzom, EQ2, EvE maybe not what you like, still, theyre good games and theres a good chance other people will enjoy them...
Meridion
I agree, I had my time with WoW, and got bored before I even reached 60. However, I don't go bashing the game. Its far, far from being the worse out there, and they did do somethings right. I played EVE for a bit too, but waiting for those skills to rise, while not being able to affect them to go faster in any way besides learning MORE skills, was just boring as well. But even this game was fun for a while, and I can see why after you spend some time in the game that it can become quiet fun.
I mean, these companies have players subscribing to them, so that goes to show at least someone enjoys the game, or else is hopelessly addicted to it.
I can honestly say I've never played anything that was completely awful with no redeeming features.
But then again, I've never played DnL, SWG NGE, DDO, Blade Mistress, or any of the other games most people here say are terrible. The worst game I've ever played was Kal Online and it wasn't that bad, just generic.
In defense of WoW -- you know why I play it? Because while it's honestly not that great, it's not terrible either, and it has one thing going for it that I REALLY enjoy:
Fucking MASSIVE PvP. Not good PvP, but massive.
When I'm killing people, I want to kill a LOT of people 24/7. WoW delivers in the way other games can't simply because of its huge subscriber base.
Now some of you might be sitting there saying "omg how can you enjoy a game because of that u n00b", well, get your heads on straight guys; it's a GAME, and I do enjoy it. If it's not for you, don't play it, but it appeals to me.
Why do people get their panties in a twist because someone doesn't like a game they like? Calm down, fanbois. I see lots of people say EVE is the worst game they've played, and while I think it's a good game I realize it's not for everyone. It's ok that people don't agree with you, it doesn't mean their stupid.
Worst game I've played (I'm sure there are worse that I haven't played) is WoW
My answer to this question is simple. The worst MMORPGs that have ever been created are GONE! I see that no matter what anyone says, someone else is going to get pissed because that is the game that THEY play. I dont really like these types of topics, because no matter what, there are going to be some reallllly stupid comments in there.
Originally posted by binary_0011 Eve online = worst.only dullard play them.
Even the most enthusiastic supporters of EVE know it's not a game for everyone.
Sir, you are free to dislike EVE, I hope you took the time to try it before you came to that opinion. But blanket pronouncements on the nature of EVE players are simply wrong and mean spirited.
And, in my experience, the truth is quite the opposite.
EDIT: In regards to staying in topic.
I've played
EVE COx GW AA
I would say the worse of that quartet is AA. I don't hate that game per se. I did enjoy the beta test and the month or so I spent playing it. The graphics are good, and the combat is pretty decent. but it wasn't very soloable and it had significant crafting grind. In the end, it simply wasn't good enough to maintain a membership. Perhaps later I'll rejoin, (I was fairly impressed with the free weekend) and I hope the game makes it's own niche.
Worst game... Dark & Light This was suppose to be THEE game to challenge WoW. This game sucks so bad, I'd rather pay to play any of the FREE to play games before I'd play Dark & Light for free... Read it again, yes, that is how bad Dark & Light sucks. The ONLY thing I can say is good in that game is the travel system. Traveling around isn't a problem. Other than that, it just sucks. Good luck even installing the game.
Biggest disappointment, DDO. I've been playing pnp D&D for 30 years and was so excited about this game. They released a demo and are expecting fanbois to pay them while they finish the game. Give this game 2-3 years, and it might be worth looking at again. Saying that, they are forcing PvP into a game that was never built for PvP, so I think about the time Turbine's LOTRO comes out, DDO may shut down or at the very least, consolidate servers.
Fear not fanbois, we are not trolls, let's take off your tin foil hat and learn what VAPORWARE is:
"Vaporware is a term used to describe a software or hardware product that is announced by a developer well in advance of release, but which then fails to emerge after having well exceeded the period of development time that was initially claimed or would normally be expected for the development cycle of a similar product."
To be honest, I think every MMO made since Ultima Online is crappy. And I stopped liking UO when Trammel came out. I just pop into this web site every now and again to see if the entire MMO industry has decided to remove it's head from it's ass- discover again for the umpteenth time that it hasn't; and go back to playing a mix of FPS and RTS games either by myself or in small multiplayer servers.
I thought MMO's had no where to go but up but boy was I wrong. The only MMOs that had me playing for more than a week since UO were Face of Mankind and PlanetSide.
Face of Mankind looked interesting on paper; spent about 3 months in open beta before seeing it completely back out of all it's promises and ending up a disaster.
I played 3 years of PlanetSide until I couldn't stand it anymore because SOE kept changing it for the worse. The game had so much potential to carve out a new genre- but it was squandered because of SOE's horrible management, bugs/glitches, gameplay issues and balancing fiascos.
Hope you got your things together. Hope you are quite prepared to die. Looks like we're in for nasty weather. ... There's a bad moon on the rise.
Probably it was Face of Mankind at its current form. Only 200 active players, took me an hour to find one. Game was runnin smoothly until my first fight, when it suddenly became a lag war. Uninstalled it in 5 minutes.
Second worst is Archlord ( and the other point and click movement korean games).
well... it's seems that their is no game that can be save from the flame. I really have not play so many mmorpgs to give an opinion so harsh about some of them, but i can only say that the mmorpg is made by it's community, ergo, bad game = bad community, for example, i played lineage 2 for about 3 moths with some ppl from my country and had a blast, even if is a korean grind. Well, thats my two cents about this.
OH, AND BEFORE I FORGET, I REALLY DON'T RECOMMEND PLAYING RAPPELZ UNTIL THEY CHANGE THE CLIENT TO AN UPGRADED VERSION, IT'S ANNOYING THE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE UPGRADE AND YOU CAN'T RESUME IT (ALREADY MORE THAN AN HOUR AND A HALF TRYING TO PLAY)
On the thought of all the flaming of WoW. Sure people like it, sure people hate it, but in all honestly i cant find any reason why to play it. There's no great community, just a bunch of elitists who think they're uber 1337, but they're really just little kids and or fanbois like gameloading. I only played it for a little while but that's enough for me. Pre-NGE SWG had one of the greatest communities ever. Not an NPC filled hack and slash grinding to max level and then nothing to really do. Not to mention that SWG had one of the best crafting system and because of how it worked it created a tightknit community of combat proffs needing entertainers and crafters. people really started to interact and created reliance on other players unlike WoW which turns into a solo grind which leaves you walking around with what might as well be 7 million NPCs. kind of like playing Oblivion but with less interesting combat. Granted its just my opinion and i expect to be flamed by a WoW fanboi. sure it has some ok features but nothing special to attract the real mmorpg audience, mainly just a bunch of kids.
The comment made in some earlier post about WoW bringing back the MMORPG industry, as everyone knows is rediculous. If anything it helped kill it by making everyone think mmorpgs are just stupid little dumbed down linear, need to play for 5 hours a day to have fun, games. WoW lead to the NGE and death of the game.
