I really think they are going to hurt themselves not having a crafting system. A lot of people like to craft some don't, but why exclude a potental player base. I kind of interested in how Vanguard is doing their crafting. They make a minigame out of it. If you are bad at the minigame, your items are not as good. Atleast they could put in crafting and make it cheaper to do than having the npc do it. That way you fit different play styles and don't have to spam town looking for someone to make the item.

I dunno about that. A couple of games out have the crafting system (whether good or bad) and quite a few try it then abandon it in favor of playing and buying off merchants or keeping the drops.

I will agree it adds another aspect to a game. And yes, I do know of ppl who only do have crafters, not active fighters in games.

In having crafters or attempted crafting in several games, its kinda nice to have a game where its not all that important to do it. Although finding the ingredients sounds like it could get interesting.

If anything, they will have a collection system in which a true crafting system can be built. One of those "wait and see" deals. The rest of the concepts for the game seem to be good enough to grab some interest so testing it out without a true crafting system will be interesting to see/do.

Crafting sucks. TCoS goes in the right direction. In other games you compete with other crafters by reaching the highest level as fast as possible and beeing able to craft everything. But this is not fun at all. You stand around for hours and press buttons and even pay money for it. People doing that are having real problems I think.

When I come home from work I don't want to go on working without being paid. I play to have fun an not to waste my time. I have so many other things to do. Crafters have no life FTW!!!
