I'm fairly certain a 16 year old can't be CEO of a company. I would assume you would have to be at least 18. Even then you would have serious credibility issues. To have an 18 year old in charge of anything clearly states how desperate the project is. That in and of itself proves this is another debacle in the making.

When i actually preordered this game like years ago, they sent me an unlabeled CD in a black unlabeled case. They also NEVER REFUNDED ME for the malfunctional software on the CD. ::::11:: And now hearing that the project changes hands, i really dont trust them despite it. I will never associate myself with them and would rather play Darkfall Online instead. DFO is a far better PvP game anyway, and its not even in beta yet, and i havent played it yet.

    So... NO THANKS... ::::15::

I might almost be convinced if someone were to visit this "business address". They could take some pictures, and confirm it's not a bachelor pad with a heavy scent of marijuana and booze.

You can try checking with the county clerks office for that area or the local zoning authority to find out if such a business exists there.

I can already tell you it will be more of the same.

Colton Burgess threatened to sue krelslibrary.org twice - first for
using ingame screenshots as site banners, second for posting articles
which he considered to be libel. How articles created by simply
compiling quotes from sites and forums is libel I don't know, I guess
if you write something about someone that they don't like, it's libel
    these days.

Then when he started posting on MMORPG.com, he denied the second
lawsuit threat when asked about it... it never happened apparently...

I'm extremely disappointed with mmorpg.com for doing such a poor job to rush this obvious attempt at a reinvention by the same people back into the MMO list.

Lepidus makes assumptions based on the stories of proven "3 time losers"  without an independent investigation,  to proclaim that this is "the true story". Everyone he spoke to has a vested interest in gaining some credibility for their "project" and they've gained a foothold on mmorpg.com FIRST. Now they can continue to peel the onion with other sites using this one as reference. mmorpg.com is not serving or protecting the gaming community with what they know is true by opening up the gate that they should be guarding against this kind of deception.

I don't think that the few ad dollars this site is making from this is worth the trememdous loss of credibility. Selling out to help spread missinformation is just plain wrong.

What a shame. I think we all expected more.

You make a good point in that MMORPG.COM has a responsibility to do a much more thorough job before they give out  this kind of an endorsement.  It seems that everyone who was anyone in the old project is still involved with it one way or another, but at the same time  still claiming that they aren't really that involved.

It's pretty ridiculous if you ask me and a really crappy job by the journalist to be taking all this at face value. This isn't simply a vapourware title that never came out, this is the evolution of  a con  where players were scammed and lost money that was never returned.

So we're basing our story on the fact that the con artists are asked if they're involved in the new con and reply: "yes but not that much" I think the logical conclusion is that this is a legit project and it deserves our support because these guys said so.

Jesus. Let's pass a hat around to buy an ad banner, and make these guys do a news story endorsing
Mark Foley as a safe bet for Boyscout Commissioner.

So Nuanced is part of Loud Ant...

Anyways, maybe it's just me but I have a hard time wanting to put my faith into Loud Ant, a company developing/publishing a game whose only other known products include a registry doctor and anti-spam software that evidentally don't exist as evidence on their site.

And why do I find this weird?

"Nuanced Entertainment approached us four months ago and offered to form a partnership and offered to work on the game," Burgress told MMORPG.com. "However, what they promised never materialized, so we are not working with them any longer."

    And then see this? http://www.delving.com/pn/html/modules.php?name=News&new_topic=5

"I received an e-mail today from the CEO of Age of Mourning.... what?.... oh?... it was a mass mailing...

Well, anyway, he's what my buddy Colton sent me.

    Greetings,

As we get closer to the re launch of the closed beta for Age of Mourning, I wanted to get in touch with the people that have been here since the start of the games development.

We have recently brought in a investor that will ensure the successful launch of Age of Mourning. We are currently working daily to bring the title back online. I hate giving exact dates as to when it will be done, however I can confidently say it will be sometime within the next 6 months. The closed beta testing will start sooner then this. Most likely sometime in April.

We also completed an extensive interview with RPGvault which will be published sometime next week; I will post the link once I have it.

Since we are in the process of updating the game and making changes, I would like to hear from you in regards to what you would like to see changed, added or just removed all together. Any and all feedback would be great, and I will respond to each one of your questions/concerns. We want to make a game you want to play and would like as much input as possible, both good and bad.

Our forum is back up and can be found here:

February is nowhere close to four months ago.

Colton listed as the CEO of Mourning.

The forum link is for the very original name of the game, Realms of Torment.

Am I missing something or do we have a band of thieves who can't hide their own tracks?

Might I ask why both in the article and on LoudAnt's site, it states they center in Portland, Oregon - yet according to WHOIS the contacts for both ageofmourning.com and realmsoftorment.net are listed under Colton Burgess located in Los Angeles, California?

They should also tell why they are just taking this guy's word for it. He isn't obligated to tell the truth.

Colton and company were so determined to be listed and have a spot here. Next time, they should be careful what they wish for.

I dont trust that they have any records of my transaction. In fact, i bet they dont even know that i recieved a CD. How am i supposed to prove that i was ripped off if they dont keep any records?

They didnt keep records because they didnt want to feel responsible to refund their ripped off customers. Would you keep records if you were a sham?

Why are they associating themselves with those pricks? Hire a fucking romanian translater if you cant read the code. Oh how about this, make a new better game instead of picking up a shitty project made by a shitty company that stole my money and rubbed my face in it. Screw you guys.

Darkfall is a superior game anyway, in all respects. And i actually RESPECT and TRUST the Darkfall devs.

EDIT -- okey after reading the previous posts...

Im extremely annoyed that Loud Ant is yet another sham by these same guys. Take them off the list and recant yourselves, MMORPG.com. I will forgive you, MMORPG.com, but i will NOT forgive the shamsters.

You've made some very good points there, Ammon777. All the screens they have here are apparently from the game before they supposedly got it. On their website, they're still struggling to draw and animate elfs::::02::

Uhh thanks. I just want my 39.95 back. I dont need a lifetime ticket to a worthless game.

Note: i remember this game in beta when i did play (for 2 hours). It was horrid.

Just read this article, and whomever said "There is one born everyday" is right on the money...

Razorback's post literally made me 'LOL'...

Also, such grandiose promises as "Free accounts for life" already point to a scam in the making...  Businesses do not offer compensation that well exceeds the damage ensued...  Also, do you really think there are records for the people who got ripped off?  Do you honestly think these crooks used Quickbooks to document their scam?

My overall opinion of MMORPG.com just went down the frickin' toilet...  How much of a kickback is this website taking for even slightly advertising this game?

It is becoming more and more evident as each day passes that MMORPG.com's standards for advocation of upcoming games directly tied to the check the company writes...

I agree 100% about mmorpg.com ... this is not the game that made me feel this way tho ... I have thought for a long time that mmorpg.com is biased and not a really good site ... the only thing i like from here is the list and fairly reliable release dates ... otherwise its all hogwash ... one of my major problems with this site is the poor articles they right ... they may have wonderful ideas and brilliant insite BUT they do not give it the full attention it deserves they will write a half a freaking page review or article with very little value in it and then post 3 a day ! ... i would be much happyer with 1 well thought out article that is complete every 2 days ...

This is the first time i have heard of any thing about this game but the fact that mmorpg.com seems to be so for it and behind it supporting every move this "new managment" makes is absurde ! ... The games like Divergence-online that are on here for one day then pulled cause the "screen shots are not in game" is horse shit when they let people scam their customers or at least try !  I would rather see a game in development and contribute to the ideas and thoughts of games like that then too read about how this scam artist game has turned over a new leaf and become a born again good business man ... bull shit if you got a free buck off some people FROM THIS SITE before ... you are going to keep trying to get free money from this site if they let you ... let alone ENDORESE (sp) you ! ...

Poor show MMORPG.com but then again you guys probably sell the gold too ! ;]

(wonder how long it will take before this gets deleted !)

well, I don't know, I was one of those taken by the pre-order of mourning. Heck I was a huge defender of it in the past as many here probably remember... I was burned.. would I look at this title again? well after reading what I have and the MMORPG staff actually looking into the facts (IE resumes etc ) there seems hope.

Hmm.. offering us free life time subscriptions? Well if anything, I don't see this as a gimic, you guys have to relize there were only about 70 of us that actually pre-bought the game and didn't ask for our money back. Again I was one, hoping for a light at the end of the tunnel. However, an offer like this is to fix the past, I can see it being a very likly possiblity. 70 people out of possible thousands isn't a huge hit. Sure, its bandwith and what not, but to make peace with the past, This is a good step to me.. In a way thou, I feel bad to accept such an offer. While I did loose my invesment, it really wasn't a huge amount, but if it is offered, I will definitly look into the title.

Now to the new dev team,

Want my thoughts on what I seen before I left? Beyond the obvious empty game (IE no mobs etc) the world was pretty cool... the clipping was horrible, (thou I think lag had something to do with that) the skill trees would have been fantastic if they actually were finished and worked, but the big killer was again, the lag.. heavy code work needed there to fix that issue possibly, even after they said "it's fixed," it still wasn't.. so that to me was the worst part ... finally, the art was "ok" nothing fantastic, my suggestion, upgrade it some, sadly this might cost a bit more time and money, but if you are truly investing into making a top notch mmo, this needs help, they have the 3d models good, but the skin graphics are way sub par. Other then that , it definitly had potential, what I seen in the release back then reminded me of a alpha/beta, but at least it worked to a point, it definitly has potential, and if your going to pvp rout and do it right. There is a huge market waiting for it, however with Warhammer on the horizon, it will be a tough market to get into.

I to wish you luck as well, if you want any info, drop me a PM and I would be happy to stop by a forum or email and go into details. Mourning I thought had real promise, to bad it was run by some shaddy people. I don't blame the devs as much as I blame the investor.
