Maybe I am too lazy to READ about MMO's... I tend to find that what you read just ins't realized when you actually play the game for a while. Talk is cheap... hopefully the MMO developers can start to release games that are fun from day 1 to year 2 providing their players with non-stop action if they want it and a safe place to hang out when they dont. WoW just seems to move the finish line further and further by releasing harder instances and better gear to seek.
- I want to run around with my crew or alone and find someone to fight all the time. - When I find a fight, I wanna run and jump and strafe and bounce all over the place trying to win instead of the two of us standing still using different abilities against eachother. - I want to log into a game and find my city under attack by real players and try to defend it. If my city is fine, I wanna take my guild and go destroy someone else's city! - I want the players of the game to be involved in "world events" and make things happen in the world instead of waiting for the developers to give them "events"... or new lame instances
I DONT WANT TO GRIND ANYMORE! I DONT WANT TO CLICK NUMBER TWO AND THEN NUMBER THREE OVER AND OVER TILL MY TARGET IS DEAD WHILE I STAND STILL THE WHOLE TIME AND I SURE AS HELL DONT WANT TO RUN AROUND THE WORLD FOR A FEW HOURS AND FIND NOTHING TO DO BECAUSE EVERYONE IS EITHER TO SCARED TO FIGHT OR BUSY GRINDING AWAY FOR GOLD OR GEAR!!
We'll continue to see modest improvements in MMO gameplay as the genre matures. I also believe we will see diversive gameplay evolve, which basically means that some MMO's will have a FPS feels while others may drift towards a more strategic flavour. I am one of the few who actually can't stand FPS, but love the idea od MMO's. Here's hoping...

In World of Idiotcraft PvP when you're being attacked by a caster, you sometimes can move behind an object to get out of the line of site of the cast. Doesn't work consistently, though. A tree here may work but a tree down the road won't. This is because the WoW maps suck. There are hundreds of errors on every one of them, very sloppy. Remember that tree and use it! Melee combat is different. Jumping in and out of range of your opponents melee weapon works to reduce damage taken, but, you can't decrease your opponents accuracy spec by moving about, not withouit a spell caster debuffing him. One of the most fun ways of defeating a Warrior is to make him think it's time to use his super duper frenzy swinging button (I forgot the name of that skill), then just stay out of range till it ends, like 60 seconds, and it has a 30 min cooldown. Confidence plummets once that baby is used up.
I am looking for a Quake-FPS-like MMORPG, too. Haven't found it yet, but some good suggestions have been made in this thread.

Then i suggest you actually take 2 seconds of your life to actually read about it.
Just because you need an internet connection to play it, it doesn't mean it's a WoW clone.
It's manual target, armor doesn't have stats, it has loads of customization, no holy trinity bs, so to
me completely different to WoW.

Ok, read about it... still looks like a WoW Clone.
