Dunno about the 6/7 year old thing, but explain the 14 thing? An ex of mine got her black belt in about 18 months at the age of 14, and just competed in the nationals and almost won. Her sister was national champion last year and got her blackbelt in the same amount of time (but at the age of 15 as she's a year older). (It was a damn scary relationship to be in if you ask me... Her mum - who hated me - was also a blackbelt... REALLY didn't wanna fuck things up there :P) .

I think age has nothing to do with it. If you can do the moves and have the speed and accuracy, then so be it. Some people are just naturals. Like the recent WFD (world's fastest drummer) champion for single-stroke hands was only 16 years old getting 1030 beats per minute. I can only do about 750 at the same age :/

Not really amazing. More.. Obnoxious. Sure, kids should show respect - But "Yes sir" and "Yes ma'am" for a 6 year old, sounds like the army way.

Actually, it's something I've told him already not to call me. I've never been comfortable with being called sir. I'd rather just be called dadimage To me being good and listening is a better way to show respect.

So, you've earned my respect again image
