Ok, well i really never thought i would say this, but i agree with what Kriminal said 100%. Shadowlands wrecked the game, RK is still good, though funcom have made it so your char is fucked if you dont go to SL.
Towns of Rubi-ka????????? Wow, i didn´t know theres gonna be a new expansion. I DO like Shadowlands, but is different from AO Classic We have to see whats going to be with the new expansion............... is Towns of Rubi-ka a fact? Where did you find the information?, I need to see it !!!!!

There is much talk about the next expansion for Anarchy Online these days, and we figured we should let you in on a few secrets while waiting for the more official announcement.
First, the name of the expansion will not be "Towns of Rubi-Ka". That was a working title, and we now have a release title. You'll have to wait for the press release before we tell you what it is though.
Second, the expansion will include organisation headquarters and player-built towns, as well as other features focusing on social aspects and character development.
Third, there will be aliens, of the nasty, aggressive and technologically advanced kind.
And yes, among all the other stuff there will be new Yalmahas!
That's the teaser you get for now, to work up your appetite. The full menu will be around soon."

Good thinking bro there will be a 2nd there has to be because of shuch a hit ao was, sweet game=a 2nd it happens with any game look at asherons call 1 for example, good game = 2nd even tho the 2nd sucked big ass wang!
It wont be Towns of Rubi-ka , Its Alien Invasion!!!!!!!!Looks really cool!!!, i cant wait for it!!!!! Imagine kicking aliens´ butts in their own ships!!!!Or having your own shop!!!!!!what about decorating the town!!!!! and the new vehicles!!!!!!!!!! I have to buy it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
lol u r lieing.....funcom would of anounced it if they came up with an AOII.....u see how quickly they rushed onto Alien Invasion? If they were making an AOII they would be concentrating on that instead of Alien Invasion...dont go lieing to people about that cause eventually people wont believe you
What's really intresting is that ALOT of people are leaving just because the game got challenging! Count how many people left when Funcom introduced stronger AI back in the days. When they were now able to heal themselves (just a little bit though, if you're winning it's not gonna make a difference), the now buff themselves, etc.
What really pisses me off is that PEOPLE ARE LEAVING BECAUSE THE GAME GOT A BIT MORE CHALLENGING! (and no I didn't hit the caps by accident)
Also, I can't remember where I read it (dev chat or something) the lead developer of the game said camping was evil and that they're doing their best to nerf the camping making a bit more easier to players to acquire some items (but not all)
When Alien Invasion comes out im going to return and see how the game is.......and yes im one of the people who left because of SL, and no i didnt leave it because it was challenging, i left because when it first came out it was a piece of crap.........yah think i wanted to stand there killing a mob then someone else came over and starting killing it aswell........and also it was all campfest what pissed me off, but im glad to hear that there trying to stop camping all the time with AI.
I understand that you left because of the SL camping, and it being so populated with campers. And some people are just plain smacktards who can't wait their turn to get an item (happened to me once when I was trying to kill the Nelebs the Dearanged... Some 3 guys or so pop up out of nowhere and outdamage my team an take the loot). They just couldn't wait for 20 more minutes for the next Neleb spawn (very rude if you ask me).
I just hope FC does the best thing and somehow make it easier for us (heh, and I'm about to take the quest for Tier 1 armor for my Keeper)
I did not leave the game because it was challenging. I left because the high lvl content of AO is very very poor.
After having fought myself thrugh the numerous quests into inferno and secured the nessesary faction I could only look forward to standing in one spot and killing the same mob over and over and over to gain lvls. This is not a challenge. This in mindnumbling booring. Add to that the finite numbers of good SK spots and you get an experience that is as aggrevating as it is stupid AKA: NO FUN!
Other than lvling you can try to secure phnatz by ammassing huge numbers of players and standing in one spot using rediculous amounts of time to kill one mob that drop one or two good pieces of lewt. You will have to kill the same phnat mobs a gazilon time, to help freinds and guildies get their phnatz because they helped you get yours. I do admit that raids are a lot more fun and challenging than getting lvls, but after you 1000th raid, this also gets pretty booring.
The faction system is utterly wrongly implimented, forcing players to camp the same few faction mobs in stead of supplying multible mobs for faction, and the whole quest-to-get-access to playfields divide and break guilds into the have and have-nots, basicly denighing casual players to do anything worthwhile.
Grind, camping and timesinks are the order of the day.
The only good thing left was NW and pvp, which is a very good experience, but without lvl's OR phnatz you really can't compete.
Alone from my high lvl-guild over 30 people quit (damn fine players the lot of them!) and the ones that stayed tend not to dissagree with the above points, but are either too attached to their toons or comraderie of the guild -staying and hoping for better times
Now AI sounds like Marius and FC have realized that most of the people that choose AO over games like EQ do not like timesinks, and camping. The original RK-AO concepts were brilliant, and I hope AI will bring the fun back into AO. I sure hope they get their act together on this one, and supply AO with some contend that is actually fun, if not AO is pretty much dead in the water for all high lvl players.
Someone here say people left AO because it got challenging....
Camping is not challenging... Sitting in one spot and waiting.. or sitting in one spot and beating the same mob to snot for 13 hours isnto challenging... It is boredom.
If you find boredom challenging then you really have a serious mental disorder. Boredom is the least challenging thing there is except death, both can be done without any skill what so ever.
People left AO because of boredom, nothing else. It is a darn shame, the basic game concept is the best out there.

I'd be happy if the chicks didn't all have the same face. There's really not much to choose from, especially if you want a blond or a redhead, even with the couple of adds from SL. They gave us what, 2 or 3 more blonds to choose from with SL and a dozen more brunettes? Females know they hate to walk into a room wearing the same outfit as another female. Wearing the same face is worse.
This would make me both frightened and excited.. I greatly enjoy the current AO but I'd worry that they would completely screw it up if they redid it in someway. Besides I doubt they would put out a second one right now.
Well, first there will come ai, and even before this there will be a lot of other stuff comming ingame, so even if aoII is planed, there will be quite some time untill it will come.
So no reason to be frigthened, just enjoy ao now and dont think about the maybe in serveral month or years, not to mention betatests and so on.
I'd actually kinda like an AO 2 if they fixed soldiers up more to my liking. I been complaining about them forever hehe... AO being my first mmorpg it holds a special place I guess. I played others but mostly come back to it.
Right now Funcom is working on Alien Invasion, so I doubt they've even started an AO2. A recent interview on IGN claims that FC makes really good money from AO, and they're in no rush to push another game out on us. They're gonna make what money they can from the original before thinking of sequels. It's a great game with a pretty decent company (customer service was fantastic) so I've got no complaints.
Im in a great big love/hate relationship with AO. I like the game in general but it has alot of things that piss me off. I quit and come back almost every other month.

Fast and furious gameplay and hopefully FC has learned that camping SUX!

Ok I think AOII will just be another expansion. There has not been anymore news on it.

More players than ever, funcom employing more and more people and you can close to *feel* the heat of excitement glowing from the windows of FC...
If that is a sign of "dying"...
I, for one, can't wait to see what new ideas Funcom comes up with. An innovative, self made, creative company like that, should not be underestimated.

Beats the hate-hate relationship I had with FFXI...
