The WoW Clones make me sick!

Everything nowadays is basically a WoW clone, and almost everything is
stolen from WoW. Its a common fact people. What some people may or may
not know, is that WoW was actually the original concept, it was made
before everything else, but deemed illegal at the time.

See what happened was the WoW travelled back in time before the launch
and tried to launch the game in 1308, but Jesus intervened and said he
had to protect the timeline (this was one of the only idea's blizzard
took from the real world and implemented, except they changed jesus to
    a dragon).

After realising they couldn't launch their game, they got really pissed
off and sped away in their rocketship (this explains where EvE got
their idea's from, it also paved the way for the starwars and startrek
franchise's) While speeding away the realised they didnt have enough
power to make the time space wormhole they used, so they jettisoned all
their leaflets promoting WoW which explains how Blizzard started all
the folklore about evles, and orcs etc.

The developers took their plea to god himself, who had a quick go on
the game, and saw the raptors in there (explains where dinosaurs came
from, so god also ripped off WoW) however he decided he game was to
ahead of its time and ordered them to open it in 2005, however he
pomised that upon it launch he would provide a fanbase of ignorant
morons to play the game and blindly defend it no matter what.

Now you know what really happened, I think all you WoW haters owe these poor Blizzard fans an apology.

Well, I've played WoW for a while now.. it's getting a bit old at high levels. It's not a bad game I would say, but WAR has more that I'm looking forward to since it appears that you still have options at high levels so you won't get bored. Although, Age of Conan seems to be following it's own direction and hopefully will bring a new 'feel' to MMO's due to it's unique more realtime combat system.

Ok, enough of thisd jibberish!! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!! Its time for the kiddies to be SCHOOLED!

First, Any MMORPG (Any of them) regardless if sci-fi or fantasy is based off a minature or paper version of a game from the early eighties. Thats any!

Second. ALL MMORPGS have a base in either D&D or JRR Tolkien. Any of them!

Third. Because I played Warhammer in the early eighties with my orc legion I know Warhammer was out before Blizzard was even a company! You little kids need to stay in school and learn something!

Fourth. If you look at the graphics of most MMORPGs youll notice that they are similar to D&D design or JRR Tolkien design! just look at either of the books for the type.

Fifth. There really is no such thing as a clone! All game designers for whichever company have the aspects that inspire them. If its a game, book, idea whichever!

Im glad I can set you little WOW punks straight. Age does make a difference between  talking out your arse(the WOW kiddies) or knowing and talking the facts!

    Now back to gaming!

I think part of this issue stems from the fact that a lot of the WoW
players are new to the MMORPG scene and don't understand whats take
place before and after WoW existed.

My first MMORPG was "Legend of Mir 2" I was an mmorpg newb, this game
was awesome, and i never understood how any game could ever beat it.
However after a year or so, boredom sank in a bit, and i typed "mmorpg"
into google and ended up here, and from here I quickly found Linage2 in
    beta.

To me beta was something that let new players get better faster over
normal players, so I joined in, and The scenery, the fact it was 3d and
not isometric along with the differen gameplay and abundance of skills
could have made me pass out lol.

From Lineage2 I passed though the usual stream of half tried half baked
games, and then WoW came along. The "awesome" factor between lineage2
and WoW was less astounding because 3D with nice graphics had been
done, and so had the large skillsets etc. The "new" classes i hadnt
seen in other games were cool, and some of the features appealed to me.

Now ive moved on from WoW and there's less "awesome" factor left to
experience in games. some of it still gets to you though, like the size
of EvE, the idea's of upcomming developers and what not. The issues
thats coming up, os the fact the "Truly original idea's" teams are now
clouded behind big name developers and publishers who favour their
"tried and tested" methods which give them their cash.

Its the same way that movies/TV went stale, lots of boring crap on, but
people put up with it because its the best. The MMORPG has hit a
straight on the mountain, and it needs a decent kickstart and a hard
kick in the arse, which shows like "lost" and "24" provided (well here
    in the UK anyway).

Everygame is going to have elements of some other game in it. Most
people are smart enough to know WoW developers did base some of their
modelling around the original warhammer game, these people also need to
be smart enough to realise WAR will probably borrow some elements of
WoW seeing as WoW is *unfortunately* the industry leader with a
sucessful platform. From what I heard the game basically plugged the
    cash drains for Vivendi.

I'm  simply amazed when I look at screenshots from Warhammer Online and Darkfall.  These are such blatant WoW ripoffs it's almost sickening.  I'm almost embarrased FOR these companies.

Here is a link to screenshots from Warhammer:  Warhammer Screens.   Pay special attention to the Dwarf screenshots.

Here are the screenshots from Darkfall: Darkfall Screenshots.  Again, look at the dwarf screenshots.

I'm hard pressed to tell if these are infact new games, or some unannounced expansion for WoW.

Especially Warhammer, could they be any more obvious that they are copying WoW.  The screenies are practically ripped straight from WoW.  Did they hire the same art team, and all the people that worked on WoW to make their game?

Take a look at the ram mounts in Darkfall, remind you of the dwarven mounts from WoW.

    Unbelievable!

    History lesson 101

WoW is an EQ 1 clone.

Warhammer has been around longer then warcraft so if anything Warcraft copied warhammer.

TY attend the next course history of mmorpg 102 another day.

I so dont care which one came out first. Or who stole what from who. Most of the mmos for the most part have the same concepts and its getting old.

Funny how when WoW & EQ2 were coming out the forums were full of WoW = EQ Clone (with cartoon graphics). Seriously one day everyone is going to realize how completely stupid, pointless and a waste of time these threads are.

Honestly if you think WAR is a rip off of WoW you really have no clue about Warhammer & DAOC at all.
