Totally couldn't be farther from the truth. Vanguard is quest based. Tons of stuff to do and all about stories. Being totally clueless FTW!

    QFE

Chikaca could not be further fromt he truth.

Okay fanbois so there is quests like in every other game. Tell me guys what is the compelling storyline in Vanguard?

    1) Not a Fanboi, I just don't like when people make up things they obviously don't know about.

    2) If you hadn't made up facts, others wouldn't have to point it out.

    But I'll enlighten you:

The Storylines in Vanguard are not only incredibly deep, vary from Race to Race, and vary from Class to Class, they are also inter-woven into Diplomacy Missions & effect Factions. Even the God you choose will effect the Storyline. Cities are at war with eachother, various cults fight for control, Assasins attack npc's and control of an area may depend on the choices you & your Guild make. The story evolves while you are in it.

This game has taken Storylines to a new level in MMO's. The only games that will even be close will be AoC & Fallen Earth, and that's if they can pull them off...

    1) Going to the extremes and saying I could not be further from the "truth" tells me you are extremely hyped about this game and it looks like you are really buying all that has been promised about this game and going all defensive when someone says something bad about it. Thus making you a fanboi!

    2) You do not know what I am basing my comments on. Making it up or speaking from experience.

Your delusions is soon to come to an end tho or you get what you wanted since I don't know what you want, but I know for a fact that Vanguard is not what I want.

    1) No, it means you could have not been further from the truth. That would be the same if I hated the game. If you weren't making something up and just saying "I don't like this game" then you wouldn't have seen a reply from me, or the others that know you're making things up.

    2) Yes, I do know. If you had a clue, you wouldn't have even come close to saying that. You don't know what I basing my comments on. What I DO know and CAN say is that if you had ANY experience with this game, you would have known better then to post made-up "facts".

Thank goodness Vanguard is not for you, it should help the game's social level.

I'll start my own SWG... with Black Jack... and Hookers!!!

    In fact, forget the SWG!!!!

Any game that causes me to curse this often is not worth playing. Taking 10 hours nonstop and seeing your bar move an inch is jut not fun for me anymore.

Ya really its much funner banging off 15 levels in a few hours. Dont kid yourself it might be easier to level in some games but they more than make up for it with countless ,pointless timesinks, kinda like World of Warcraft biggest bait and switch ive ever seen in a game

Waiting, this game seems to be a game that could flop or something, or just be wrong for me.

Starwars Galaxies, An Empier Diveded, That's what it says on my box anyway.

I got an email from my old guildies in EQ2 saying they were going to start Vanguard, so of course I will be there...we will make the best of it.  I burnt on EQ2 and have been playing Anarchy Online for some mindless PvE and tower PvP - sadly out of balance game.  Vangaurd is coming to the rescue just in time for me.  I am ready to role up another fantasy.

The launch is the funnest part, IMO.

Yes, I agree.  There is a lot of competition with the new MMORPGs coming out in '07 and waiting to see how the games do from the beginning is probably the best financial decision.  I hate investing early on the monthly payments and then finding out I don't care for the game and the month to month fees are just too high.

def. start from the beginning. When i wait for games after they come out and I finally join the gaming community I feel left behind image

I'll be playing from launch, but will force myself to go slow and enjoy the game more.  Past 2 games (WoW & EQ2) I rushed.  While raiding is fun when you are with the right people, it simply makes things boring sooner.

I too plan on plyaing from the beginning.  I like my characters to grow with the game and be there when someone discovers something for the first time.

    Thanks for the question z80paranoia.

I intend to buy one of the collector editions but, I will be waiting for one month after release until I play so that some of the bugs will have been worked out. I will enjoy the classes placed in the game at that time no matter what they may be.

It's really hard for me not to play right away but, I do feel it is best for me to wait one month based on my experience from many other games.

    Day 1     -Of course!!!!!!

Nothing better than the first week of a new game (apart from the minor bugs) lol

  • JackdogJackdog Member UncommonPosts: 6,321
rumor has it the wise people will wait. I called this on DNL and a lot did not listen.. will I hit it again a second time? Only fools pre order any game unless they are in beta. If the game is good it will be around a long time. If it sucks you save yourself some cash and frustration.

    I miss DAoC

LOL lucky him. Will be hard to go back to work I think. I will probably use a few sick days at launch also. I will hopefully be upgrading my computer too. 8800 would be nice, 768 onboard ram mmm mmm good!
