    Hmm, lets see.

    1. Heights. Not quite as bad as I used to be, but I still get the whole "I should get the hell Down" feeling if I'm pretty high up (say, 5 stories or so.

    2. Spiders. Not only do I fear them, I hate them. As in like, would fully support a spider genocide. Their goddamn webs are all over the place and I hate the feel of them. and spiders themselves make me want to shoot them point blank with an 8 Gauge or something. Spiders just need to die.

    3. Not really a big one, But I'm slightly clostrophobic. If there are way too many people in way too small a spot, I start to get the same sort of feeling as for heights, but instead, its a "Get the hell out". A prime example would be the elevator at the St. Louis Arch. They cram five people in a space barely big enough for two. Also, anything put around my neck I absolutely hate. Even a really loose tie bugs me.

Edit: Although, usually my sig quote helps whenever I'm having problems with this type of stuff. Just do it, and get it over with. Then look back and say "That wasn't so bad, remember that for next time". Of course, I don't usually, but it helps.

I feel ya on the neck thing, I tend to flip out whenever anyone other than my girl touches my neck. I mean, fly several feet back, or smack them the second they touch me.

Your girl? Not girlfriend, not future wife? I'm an object now? *pout*

Anyways, Yeah, I hiss when other people touch me. I think i got the no-touch thing from Rreka'al, honestly. I've become more anti-social over the past 2 years.

I'm also afraid of flying in planes, though I have to fly a lot. is that odd?

Oh, and i totally forgot, I have a panic attack if I'm in a room with too many people. Like, terrified, hyperventilating, need-to-curl-up-in-a-ball-and-hide type panic.

Yeah, I've flipped out on friends before when grappeling and such if they get anywhere close to my neck. Usually I end up throwing a punch, and then they back away and comment something like "Must've touched a nerve". Yeah, they did.

Having rotten teeth: I have dreams of my teeth decaying sometimes and it creeps me out.
I have that dream all the time too!!!  Its horrible when they just start falling apart in my mouth. seems so real too!

I have them a lot and sometimes I wake up and check my teeth and they take the form of nightmares than normal dreams.

I don't really have any phobias, I do however have an irrational hatred of maggots.

I'm with you on the decaying teeth thing. - I've had that nightmare quite a few times as well. :P - And it's a different nightmare everytime, I mean, it happens at different places and times.

Same, I forgot to add that. Sure I can look at ants, micro orgnisms move, but maggots is somthing I can't deal with. I had to shovel trash once at my job and they had tons of maggots the size of a kid's pinky finger. It's like a child playing with a gun hatred.

Only real tight closed spaces. Night like a small room, i mean like tied up and put in a box tight or something. But i guess that is pretty natural.

I'm easily spooked but as for genuine phobias... let's see: I conquered fear of heights. Yay.  Absolute darkness - NOOooo. By absolute darkness I mean it's so dark there is no light to see anything  (I wonder what I'd do if I went blind).

My brother does not seem to have any fear or ever gets spooked or startled by somehting jumping out so this was so funny. My brother was playing Diablo II I think on the computer. The computer is right next to the window so if you look up, you're looking outside. It's about 1 AM and very dark out. Plus he's playing with the lights off. Well suddenly he looked up and two yellow eyes were staring at him from right outside the window. He jumped so high.  I wish I saw it. I only came up after he yelled. It turned out that it was the black stray cat that sometimes wanders into our yard. He was sitting on the windowsill, looking at my brother. It's one of the few times I've ever seen my brother get spooked. It was awesome.

    Edit:

Darnit. I'm down to one star now. I did have 3

I also believe I have a ghost in my house.  I live alone and have heard some strange things in the middle of the night.  I would lay in bed hearing them, then jump up and flip all the lights on and the noises would go away.  Its like footsteps on my carpet.  My dog sleeps next to me and hears them to, because she would pop her head up and look in that direction.  Thats even spookier.  That shit makes my skin crawl.

Same thing is happening right now (started last week) we have always heard strange noises in this house and had strange things happen but now my dog is starting to be effected..

Within the last month we started to let her in the garage at night due to it being to cold outside.. But in the last week she has started to bark and sometimes growl at things and there is nothing there.. You can walk by the garage or be sitting in the den watching TV and she will just start growling for nothing..Its wierd.

Man what I wouldn't give to see what she is seeing... Then agian maybe I shouldn't wish that.

    1. The ocean, if I ever get stranded at sea, I think I'll panic myself into a heart attack. I can't stand being in a medium where I cannot see below me, there's an infinite amount of space and an infinite amount of thing that can be below me and around me and I can't ever see it. Jaws scared the crap out of me, I pretty much won't swim in the ocean or go in past my waste.

    2. Spiders. They just look so menacing, i become irrationally paranoid and all messed up if I see one in my apartment, same applies for centipedes and other screwed up things. I think I can get over this one, I need to just take some time. I saw this show where some chick was deathly afraid of spiders and she was coached out of it and they made her do this exercise of going into a tent that had 5 tarantulas in it and bringing them out 1 by 1.

I have the exact same phobias

When i fly over the ocean I often think about crashing, but not like most people.. I think about actually surviving the crash and being stranded in the middle of the ocean.. The idea that im floating and something could be swimming under me eying me up for dinner freaks me the hell out.. I mean thoughts of this happening www.sherdog.net/forums/showthread.php to me constantly run through my head on Plane trips over the ocean.

Spiders are another big no no, or should I say Oh hell no for me.  Just the way they move and look is enough to send me running.. I struggle to even kill the little ones in my house lol...I remeber one time when we were training in Okinawa i tripped on some roots and fell, and when I looked up one of thesestatic.flickr.com/31/53116373_bb1c6914bc.jpg was shaking in its web in front of me (I guess I pissed it off and almost pissed on myself when I saw it lol).

P.S  No thats not me standing infront of that spider

What kind of spider is that?  It looks a bit like a Giant Wood spider, which is a spider native to Okinowa.  But the body of it has a slightly different color pattern than any of the specimines that I was able to find.

I don't have any phobias, I realy don't understand how peeps actually can fall into this. I mean everyone experiences fear now and then, but to let it grow into a full blown phobia where from then on you will fear this situation, animal or what not, is realy beyond me. Get a grip all you peeps, its just in you rmind

Whoever supported a full-blown spider genocide, I'm with you. Dude, the thing about spiders is that they are just so goddamn menacing. The way they move, the huge fangs in the front, i swear, i feel like their shape and movements are pre-programmed in my brain and always cause the "scared out of my balls" signals.

It's irrational to be afraid of something a thousandth of your size. If I ever dream of a spider the size of a horse like you see in MMO's, LOTR, i'm going to crap myself.

I would hate a plane crash in the middle of the ocean, the wreckage, and the dead bodies would attract a lot of unwanted attention with sharp teeth and dorsal fins.

Also, thunder and lightning are mny favorite weather. I absolutely love thunderstorms, the lights and the sound are amazing. You see the flash of light and then a few seconds later (depending on distance0 you hear a sonic boom. Absolutely love it.

The reason I am not scared of ants is because their look and movement seem innocuous to me. The spider on the hand is, it's look and movement is that of a pure hunter. I'm scared of hte dark too, i've been sleeping with my lights on of late lol, the funny thing is, i sleep with the lights on, but then i put the covers completely over my head :).

Bugs and snakes, but also I cant stand closing my eyes in the shower if I am home alone because I am afraid some crazed man might be hiding and waiting or something ( maybe I have watched too many movies) but I just get freaked out and also I cant stand laying in bed without at least a sheet over me, I get all creepy feeling like something unseen is going to touch me or something LOL. I dont like heights,,, I feel very dizzy and queasy when I am on something higher  than a footstool and I absolutely despise 2nd or higher floor hotel rooms and I will always request the curtain to be closed before I enter the room. Fast driving terrifies me and I would probably freak and jump out of a car if someone was driving too fast and wouldnt slow down even though the  jumping would be equaly as foolish I think  I would freak so bad I wouldnt think before acting.

    Gas giants.

If you think about it they're pretty scary.  Imagine every place you've ever traveled to.  Think of long road trips, wide deserts, high mountains, huge oceans, whatever.  Everything in the world you ever saw, heard, touched, tasted, smelled, or just learned about.  And imagine how much bigger everything about a gas giant is.

My knowledge may be faulty, and I know someone wouldn't survive all this, but here's how I imagine falling into one.  You start off in freezing temperatures in a completely alien environment.  Winds going hundreds of miles per hour, in storms bigger than the world.  Maybe some lightning big enough to vaporize all of human civilization.  And you just keep falling through world sized clouds and layers of who knows what, be it toxic or corrosive or any fun thing.  I don’t know if you could hear anything, but maybe the winds would be roaring louder than anything you’ve heard before.

You just keep falling, faster and faster, being blown about by collosal winds.  It starts getting hotter, and darker.  Soon the temperature is unimaginably hot.  The pressure is such that no method known to man could take you back up.  You just keep falling.

After an eternity of this, you slam into the liquid layer.  An endless sea in every direction.  It’s super hot and pitch black.  Above you the toxic winds continue to howl, drowning out any other sound.  You start to sink.  Eventually you reach the bottom, where you lie entombed and imprisoned by more mass than you could imagine until the end of the universe.

It’s a little strange.  As far as I know, I’m the only one with this fear.

I’m uncomfortable around all sorts of archnids; spiders, centipedes, scorpions, etc.  When I was younger, I was terrified of ghosts.  I’m also a little claustrophobic on occasion.

Two fears I’ve never really had are heights and thunderstorms, outside of a gas giant context.  There’s a reason for the second.  I grew up in a place where there were very few thunderstorms.  Occasionally, lighting could be seen or thunder heard in the distance when we were driving, which would lead to an exchange between me and any adults in the car like this:

    Them: Did you see that?

    Me:  What?

    Them:  Lightning, over there.

    Me: I didn’t see it.

    Them: THERE IT IS AGAIN!

Me: WHERE?  I don’t see it.

    Them: *frustrated tongue clicking*

( I never understood why people do that with kids.  They’re shorter than you and can’t always see everything you can.  Accept it.)

Sometimes at night thunder would be heard at night, but I guess I was a deep sleeper, so in the morning everyone would be talking about it but I didn’t hear it.  So even today, whenever I see lightning or hear thunder the only thing I think is “Holy crap I actually noticed that!”
