This is not entirely true. The way key-bound turning and mouse turning interact is not smooth at all. I found controlling my character very frustrating until I unbound the turn keys and rebound the strafe keys in there place.
Same, I did mine in the same way I had City of Villains. I need to do that with just about every game that I have played. . .MXO, COH/COV, I dont remmeber if I needed to do that for my WoW and EQ 2 trials. . .
But that is kinda hinting at that guy not knowing how to do anything or doing anything to make his own personal experience enjoyable. . .claiming that you have a top end pc and giving your pc stats are two different things as well. . .
I play Vanguard since beta, subscribed to VG forums since 2003 and i have few comments to give here
First Vanguard was created by a dedicaced team of devs comming from everquest so its same game based and a lot of EQ players have joigned the VG rank to play the game. Yes its a dedicaced game and yes there are still some problems with tuning computers to get good performances in game. This game is a high end game in gameplay but need a ton of hours to be understand and well played. Its the ransom playing this kind of MMOs. I totaly agree with people complaining about VG on graphics and gameplay .. yes its not WoW .. and sure it will not in the future. Vanguard dev has started before WoW and is still released now and was in need of like 4 month more to be finalized. But its not an open beta .. its a starting game witch need some tuning to be ok. Vanguard team is working hard on it and its still on way.
Let me explain a bit what kind of gameplay you have in Vanguard cause i have read a ton of post and few were about the major thing in the game ... you have the liberty to do what you want where you want at the time you want .. casual can play there without probs, high end players too. Grouping is not really difficult and will let you discover a part of the real content of VG when exploring dungeons and such
But yes there is some few probs and yes its not perfect but this game will become what we will do with it .. look EQ at starting and remember the flaming forums at start .. its a 10 years old now and still people addicted on it ...
So for me Vanguard has his place in the MMORPG world and i am pretty sure it will grow with the time ..
Excuse me if my english is not perfect .. i have to skill it but my mind is a bit old ^^
See normally i'd HEAVILY agree with you... but this OP has posted the SAME thing. 3 different times on 3 seperate occassions. He OBVIOUSLY has some sort of motivation.
Maybe his motivation is that he doesn't like the game, and he doesn't think people should buy it? Just a thought.
If you're hinting at some sort of anti-Vanguard conspiracy, that's just a bit paranoid, don't you think? Not everyone is going to like the same games, and just because someone posts more than one post registering distaste with Vanguard, that doesn't automatically mean he's a plant from another game, or whatever the fanboy theory is today.
"the in game graphics are ok but even with my high spec pc i have to run everything on highest performance mode which makes the game look arwful and its still jerky"
I wonder what this high spec PC you speak of is? If you would be so kind as to post your specs :P

I don't understand this mentality. Why can someone who flames a game over and over just not like the game, but someone who does like the game is automatically a fanboy? Why can't someone who likes the game just like it? Or why doesn't someone who not like the game be labelled some type of vanguard hater?
See how your not being neutral on the matter? If he continues to post how much the game sucks then he is just as bad as the people you label as fanboys.

Consider this:
Around here, and on the Vanguard beta forums, the recipe was simple-- post ANYTHING even remotely critical of Vanguard, and expect to be flamed to Hell and back as a "hater" or a "troll", or get buried under a bunch of elitism about how Vanguard players are more hardcore/next-gen/uber-l33t than everyone else because they like a game with "challenge" and don't like being spoonfed like everyone else.
The OP has what, 3 posts? That's hardly enough to go on for anyone to determine anything other than the fact that he didn't like the game and doesn't think anyone else should pay for it, because it's unpolished/unfinished/broken, etc. Yet he was immediately flamed by people here as nothing but a mindless basher, a "hater", a liar, and a troll. And why? Because he posted a negative opinion of Vanguard.
And quite frankly, I never claimed to be neutral. I'm here for my own self-interest. I played Vanguard in beta. I didn't buy the retail box because I refuse to pay full price for an unpolished game or to validate Sigil's decision to release early, since my experiences in beta told me the game needed at least another six months, if not longer before it would be up to snuff. But I'm keeping an eye on how this game evolves for the next few months to determine whether I'll buy it.
For me, that includes monitoring how the community interacts, and responds to criticism of the game. It's not just the game itself that will make my final decision on whether or not to play, since I've got a buddy key that my boyfriend gave me, and I can re-install and play it at any time. It's also the fans, and how they handle dissent. Sigil has already shown they don't want to hear it by not having official forums. That's one big strike already. But watching the posts around here, and even at other sites is another factor for me, and seeing the OP attacked so thoroughly for just having an opinion seems very wrong to me.
I love how many *I'm against this game for this reason* posts are filled with tons of grammatical errors. Not to mention, punctuation, spelling, capitalization, etc.....What is becoming of the english language?
I don't know, but your isn't all that great either. First off, when you quote somebody, you use " ", not **. Secondly, after etc. you only use three ... not five. I could be mistaken, but English should be capatalized. Introductory college English for the win.

But, due to the bugs in the game it doesn't matter how high-end your system is... you will crash ALOT, clip into walls, monsters do disappear, there are zone boundries and if you are running across one your char will flip out and turn around, etc. etc. etc.
With that said if you're impatient and want an out of the box playable game...Vanguard is NOT for you. Vanguard is probably at least 3 months from being "stable" and once it's "stable" there's tons of other gameplay bugs to address, so it's a work inprogess.
To be honest... I'm probably only going to play until Warhammer Online is released. Vanguard isn't anything new. And, if you hate doing nude corpse runs and losing xp Vanguard IS NOT FOR YOU...
My system: Intel E6700 Core 2 Duo 4 MB L2 cache 2.66GHz clock speed 1066MHz frontside bus 2GB DDR2 800 (PC2 6400 ) memory Graphics card: XFX GEFORCE 8800GTX 768MB Cable internet connection But, due to the bugs in the game it doesn't matter how high-end your system is... you will crash ALOT, clip into walls, monsters do disappear, there are zone boundries and if you are running across one your char will flip out and turn around, etc. etc. etc. With that said if you're impatient and want an out of the box playable game...Vanguard is NOT for you. See the odd thing is though i have NEVER experienced ANY of that AT ALL in the entire time i've played since release (beta is another story) SO it's really hard to generalise... I'd say if you got the 50 bucks try it... If you don't have 50 dollars to spend on a game you might night play for longer than 30 days, Then doh. I mean people buy console games they don't like all the time. and they don't go bonkers over THAT. Also if you don't have 50 dollars to spend on a game you probably shouldn't be looking to get into an mmo period lol. monthly fee and all.
Lidane, there is a difference between just expressing your opinion and doing so more then once. If I said I didn't like you and told you so thats my opinion, but if I constantly told you how much I didn't like you and how no one should talk to you because of how bad you are then that is harrassment.
Now of course you can't harrass a game, but that is just an example of the mind set.
I am not a Vanboy. I didn't play the beta because it wouldn't run on my old pc. Also, I hated EQ, but I was willing to give this a try because some of my friends from DAoC and WoW were going to play it. I have been pleasantly suprised with the game and will continue to play for quite awhile I think.

WOW theres a hell of an idea... We should start a "If you don't like vanguard donate it to someone who does foundation" then instead of posting on forums how bad it is they can write it off on their taxes... assuming they have taxes and are over 12.
Unfortunatly Thats a big problem for alot of these armchair cowboys it's impersonal whatever they type to people. Hence the problem with 13 year olds and gaming in general.

He was NOT attacked for his oppinion. He was attacked for telling people NOT TO BUY THIS GAME, and he did not back up his statement with Valid un biased attacks. Basically he was attacked for ATTACKING the game.
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHH so as far as YOUR concerned every one should buy this buggy game and just pay thier monthly sub and STFU? You people realy amaze me sometimes. Sigil releases an UNfinished game and should be rewarded with praise?
I agree with the OP in the sense that NOBODY should be buying this game until many months go by and it is MAYBE fixed to a playable version.

Alright fellas, then riddle me this.... How long does one have to play to know the game isn't to their liking?

The instant gratification generation just pisses me off. Sex is VERY VERY VERY bad for most women (well for men really too but at least they get an orgasm) when they start but becomes VERY VERY VERY good with a good partner. By your reasoning most women would never have sex. Most of the best things in life take time to fully appreciate.
I wasn't a big fan of wine when I first tried it.
Well I always loved beer, but most people don't enjoy it from the very start, or at least not the really good beers.

So stick to your instant gratification life and you'll miss out on many of the greatest pleasures.
the in game graphics are ok but even with my high spec pc i have to run everything on highest performance mode which makes the game look arwful and its still jerky .
Then you are mistaken your low spec pc with a 'high one.'

There is a better way for theses stupid flaming people with no real knowledge on what they flame ... /ignore
If flaming is constructive i agree and it help the dev and community to do better but flaming like that .. not really mature ..
