ONLY problem with that lidane is... the community in game is a MILLION TRILLION time better than the community here.
In order to find out if you're right or wrong, I'd have to re-install and play a game that I think is at least six months away from being polished. Sorry, but that's not going to happen. I'll wait at least six months, if not longer, before I re-install.
I'll take my chances and wait a few months. The only thing I lose is time, so I'm perfectly content to wait for the game.

I am having a blast in this game, it is true that the mobs will bug a little, and it is being taking into account by the devs, but they only disappear for a few seconds and this doesnt happen in every fight, at least not for me, the diplomacy rocks, im not sure why it is addicting, but i started on diplomacy and it is hard to drag myself away from them, it is different i guess, I too am running on high performance, it runs smooth like that for me, i am in the market for a new card and been shopping around for one, cant wait to be able to crank this game to a higher setting, it is pretty.
To return to the OP's argument. I think that so many of us are disappointed because we were promised something different than what was delivered. I am by no means a new comer to MMOs and know that patching and correcting post launch is critical to the game development. But even EQ1 was more playable than Vanguard is in its current state (and yes I was there).
I have been playing Vanguard since Beta 3 and I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game out of disgust and intrigue to see if they fixed the game. Sigil never did. I have not brought the game and dont know if I will. I remeber in beta that many of us posted our concerns to deaf ears.
I know that MMOs are a business and that pushing product to launch is important but Sigil should have taken a note from the blizzard playbook and scaled down the game and fine tuned it. Sigil could have added more races and content via patches, paid content addon, or expansions.
I can only lament what could have been the new 3rd generation MMo but I have to wait to see if Conan is it. I really wanted Vanguard to be better than it was, and there is a part of me that hopes that it can still be.

I respect your perspective and opinion. And I completely concur with your view about the Veruca Salt "I want it NOW" syndrome with the younger generation. I was however making a somewhat exaggerated statement to the "give it time" argument people are making. I mean at what point does one say "ya know this isn't my cup of tea"?
To further illustrate and exaggerate my point would be to take a Wiffleball Bat and whack you in the forehead. You're gonna know pretty damn fast you don't like it. The same can hold true for people and this game.
I personally like VG and have a three month sub as we speak. The game however, clearly needs work and no one can argue that. But I for one will give Sigil the benefit of the doubt and wait out my sub. If I don't see improvements after that, then that's when my patience runs out and I move on to greener pastures. The fanboys at that point can wait out the 6 months, 1 year, 2 years, 5 years etc. etc. and keep telling themselves.... "wait give it time, it will grow on you".

For me, and for many of the long-time howlers in this forum, the answer is very freakin' few. If I'm told that I have to wait till, say, level 10 for the game to become interesting, BAM! right then and there I know the game will suck. This has been my experience playing games for the past 10 years. It is very hard to imagine that Vanguard would be the exception to this rule of personal experience. And, to be cruely honest, most of the guys who tell you "just give it a chance" are idiots, and what tickles their pickle about a game would make me fall asleep.

Another one of my personal experience rules is that this miracle almost never happens as advertised, you always get a lot less than the game needs to justify your monthly subscription payment.

And, despite all of that, I'm going to buy this game and try it because it is popular but sounds like a real POS. Once I play it a while I'll be able to come back to this forum and complain about the game for months if it turns out to be crap. well after playing for a bit . i must say this is actually the worst mmorpg i ve ever played and that includes some to the free to play ones . its horrible. the control system is all over the place . you feel like your fighting to keep your character moving in the directon you want him or her to go . combat really is inconsistant . the game is bugged to hell . monsters have a tendancy to disapear when your fighting them . the in game graphics are ok but even with my high spec pc i have to run everything on highest performance mode which makes the game look arwful and its still jerky . the character animation is static and akin to the kind of thing you get in some of the free play games like silk road . its like an open beta having said that i ve played better open betas . its brocken unfinnished and unpolished and it would have been better if it had never been released . i feel ripped off . what a shame it had such potential too . . i dont know why anyone would post anything possative about this game unless they had a vested interest in it . SAVE YOU HARD EARNED BUCKS GIVE IT A MISS .

i purchased vanguard by digital download 2 days ago and my experiance has been awfull
the character creation was a complete and utter lie *no two characters will look the same* there is practicly no customization!
i mean literaly the only race that looked halfway decent was the orc race all the other looks like rubber ken dolls.
Then i MANAGED to make a character yes managed ! it was choppy the sliders could hardly be moved the model kept disapearing or flickering, THERE IS NO CHAR CUSTOMIZATION . at least not what they would have you beleave.
Then when i got in game what a let down laggy as hell i couldnt even play with the graphics set to normal (and i can play eq2 with everything cranked up) The animations were bland and not very well done basicly this game is a load of crap dont touch it !

Ironically i think the game would be ok for me, but the community is so elitist and fanboish, it makes even the EvE community look like pacifists. Me being a group player, who likes interacting with the community (i play multiplayer games purely for this), this justifies me not touching it, regardless of the games graphical prowess.

I see a lot of people bashing the original poster of this thread. I think primarily the poster is being bashed due to his or her lack of eloquence or diplomacy. I do believe in one human personality trait that is shared by many cultures, people of many different ages, and of different gender. When we feel something we value is threatened we attack, we take action . This maybe be a primal instinctual reaction. One must be very careful in our actions, our mannerisms because, although it may deeply hurt one to hear a "truth" that is counter to what one wants to hear, it does not change the situation. Please keep in mind I stated in the prior sentance "a" "truth" I did not say "the truth". What one perceives to be that "truth" basically is what one perceives. However, keep in mind. I personally think hardware requirements that the current game code opitimizations support is a grave and serious error on the part of the people in charge. So serious and grave that there may be a question that can be raised as to the viability of the game to survive long enough for the current average computers specifications to catch up to the games computer requirements. It may take a year or so for the average computer owned by the average gamer catch up to the specification needed for the game. Honestly I dont have a strong desire to see the game fail or succeed. Its a very nice game but I have always preferred the type of games that did not force one to choose a path and specialize in one area at the same time closing off all other areas not taken. I supposed one can make a new character and start over. Arguments will always be made about "realistic" or how realistic a game mechanic is compared to real life I suppose. I guess in real life one can not be a great wizard, a great cleric, a great warrior, a great bard all in one lifetime as one person.
Anyway, I guess time will reveal to us "The Truth". Was the decisions the right decisions? Was the game a good game? Time immortal will be its judge. Not us.

Replace whatever you want but you can't change the fact that his rant was limited only to the game. He wasn't calling any players name or disrespecting anyone who plays Van. But all the Vanboys attacked him PERSONALY..got my point? Its Vanboys who resort to personal attacks as if someone abused there mom. And i have been to many many fansites including the VG official boards to confirm what i am saying. And mmorpg.com is not any different and even worse then the other sites. What an immature community.

I see a lot of people bashing the original poster of this thread. I think primarily the poster is being bashed due to his or her lack of eloquence or diplomacy. I do believe in one human personality trait that is shared by many cultures, people of many different ages, and of different gender. When we feel something we value is threatened we attack, we take action . This maybe be a primal instinctual reaction. One must be very careful in our actions, our mannerisms because, although it may deeply hurt one to hear a "truth" that is counter to what one wants to hear, it does not change the situation. Please keep in mind I stated in the prior sentance "a" "truth" I did not say "the truth". What one perceives to be that "truth" basically is what one perceives. However, keep in mind. I personally think hardware requirements that the current game code opitimizations support is a grave and serious error on the part of the people in charge. So serious and grave that there may be a question that can be raised as to the viability of the game to survive long enough for the current average computers specifications to catch up to the games computer requirements. It may take a year or so for the average computer owned by the average gamer catch up to the specification needed for the game. Honestly I dont have a strong desire to see the game fail or succeed. Its a very nice game but I have always preferred the type of games that did not force one to choose a path and specialize in one area at the same time closing off all other areas not taken. I supposed one can make a new character and start over. Arguments will always be made about "realistic" or how realistic a game mechanic is compared to real life I suppose. I guess in real life one can not be a great wizard, a great cleric, a great warrior, a great bard all in one lifetime as one person.
Anyway, I guess time will reveal to us "The Truth". Was the decisions the right decisions? Was the game a good game? Time immortal will be its judge. Not us.
