WoWs raiding content could be hard. You'd have to get rid of all the mods that do everything for you first. Keep kidding yourselves though.
Obviously you never raided in WoW.
I am sure having those mods that make a gui layout for healing your party like cheating when you got such a craptacular UI as some other games.
Old games like EQ didn't have the ability to track DPS, Healing and what not and some people like archaic mmos so I guess I can see your point... if you like archaic mmos. Personally I like flexible UIs that let me see what I want to see... whether I am playing a healer or a tank or a DPS class.
Haha flexible UI. You mean CT_ILLTELLYOUWHATTODOWHENTODOITMOD. I played WoW for 2 years, your only kidding yourself.

But They've banned mods that take direct actions (ie Decursive) for you, as you should know. Mods are still permited to show any information needed though.
WOW is that chocolate chip cookie on your way out the door, VG is that steak and potato you have to sit down for. WOW is a bowl of ice cream, VG is a bucket of KFC. WOW is a piece of white cake, VG is a large bowl of beef stew.
When your finished with WoW, You ask, now where can I get soemthing to eat. When your finished with VG, You just think, WOW...
I am a vegetarian m8. Me too...
So like,...
WoW is a glass of Light Chocolate Soy Milk (Silk brand of course cause Nature's Own Soy milk SUCKS!)
Vanguard is Miso Soup and Vegetable Mushu with those yummy wraps and Hoisin Sauce and a nice hot cup of Spiced Chai.
....mmmm and homemade Raspberry Sherbet for desert.
I thnk one of the reasons some people hate WoW is that their only real accomplishment in the game is hitting max level and getting lower tier gear. They see a lot of other people do that too and that means they aren't special, which causes them to say it's "easy mode." That is not , however, a reflection of WoW's being easy so much as it is a testimony to the fact that those people really aren't taking on the real challenges in WoW and distingishing themselves by anything other than a silly number over their head.
Yeah but those "real" challenges weren't fun either. (lol). I don't know, there's a lot of players like myself who "hate" WoW because after burning our way up to 60, expecting the really fun and challenges to start, we found that it was just a different kind of boring.
Like, you burn through these quests that, to their credit, are occasionally very creative and interesting albeit meaningless and sadeningly easy, and eventually you get to max level. It took 10 days to get to 60 for me and that's not even too remarkable by WoW standards. So basically everyone is 60 even though they haven't mastered their characters (take 20-30+ days to get to max level, thats when you've mastered a character's nuances), and everyone's in a "uber"-guild waiting-list running the same instances over and over to get piece by piece of better and better gear, but for what? A lot of people do it because after spending however much time it took them to get to 60 (or 70 now), that's what they "paid" for. They invested time in cleverly constructed game to experience "l33t" endgame only to find out it's just as medicore as the rest.
I have more theories as to "for what," but I'd like to hear someone elses opinions of why.
Isn't amazing how many critics rear their ugly faces here? I mean really most of them admit to not playing past open beta...really...
Seems to me that they are afraid to lose players from their precious baby game...WoW so they try to run down, the admittedly early released Vanguard. If ya don't like vanguard don't play. Don't need to sit here and whine about it. If you have constructive comments make them otherwise why not go back to candyland Wow.

Hahaha, I feel so threatened by Vanguard. You caught me out. I bow before the master.
With PvE raiding, it has never been a question of being "good enough". I play games to have fun, not to be a simpering toady sitting through hour after hour of mind numbing boredom and fawning over a guild master in the hopes that he will condescend to reward me with shiny bits of loot. But in games where those people get the highest progression, anyone who doesn't do that will just be a moving target for them and I'll be damned if I'm going to pay money for the privilege. - Neanderthal
To me, a treat is something I eat because I like it, its that little extra something that enriches your life.
A meal is consuming food for nourishment and survival.
If I were to make an analogy to my spare time hobby with food I am pretty sure I would want my hobby to be a treat, not a meal.
Or was that the point of the original post?

You see now here is a thinking man. EVERYONE missed the point of my original post except for this dude here. He got it.
You are all so caught up in "my game is better than your game" mentality, you turned a *treat* into something bad. A treat is something sweet and good that everyone likes. Now kids, they love treats and despise the good meals. Thus, you find more "kids" in WoW and generally a younger audience. VG does a bit more mature feel to it.
I didn't say one game was better than the other. In fact, my last sentence was, "You just think, WOW", as in, now it's time for a treat...
All of you, every last one of you, well except for this dude above, are so preoccupied with the size of your dicks, you missed the point of this post.
Perhaps its the fact that you state WoW as being an immature game, especially in comparison to Vanguard. That would also imply that the WoW player base is immature. How would that not rankle feathers. I've played both games. I do not find Vanguard's mechanics, play styles or community to be any more mature than any other game, including WoW. You may try to mask your veiled insults with food comparisons, but the insults remain the same.

While I can see what you're trying to say, and I somewhat agree, kids aren't the only ones that like treats. As a 33 year old adult, I can safely say that while I like a good steak as much as the next carnivore, I'm not about to pass up the Creme Brulée on the dessert tray.
This thread is a useless anecdote. I just cant stand hearing how vanguard is for the mature, for people who like complex games, how it not as shallow as other games. Come on, your game is just like every other game out there, give it a rest. Your overhyping of an average game drives me crazy.
If only i could find a troll with a tin foil hat. =(
"Here is your burger sir" "Um...Where is the meat? "Well...Sir, The burger wasn't quite ready yet so we thought you might like to start with the lettuce and the bun...We will get the meat to you as soon as we can it's just not ready yet."
MMMmmmm good, Mc Vanbois
MMmmm, McVanbois .. I eat them for breakfast, and you?

LOTRO is... Big Momma's House II
VG is... Big Blue, Director's Cut
they all have their audiences & that's fine, choices are good.
