I thought I would post my own high res images. I took these when I first started messing around with the game so these are still in the newbie area.
These are taken on my highest setting, BUT it is not always possible for me to play the game on the highest settings and I normally have to switch to balanced which looked pretty bland in my opinion.
Truthfully, if I could run the game on the highest setting all the time I would be a lot happier with the graphics, but even then I find the highest setting graphics of EQ2 on my computer to look better.
Another note....
For some strange reason I find my Vanguard screenshots look better than most of the Vanguard screenshots around this forum, oddly enough.
Very nice screens of Vanguard..Prolly one of the best I have seen..where is this area ?
I really do hate the WoW graphics, ever since I saw them in Pcgamer. But compare the color palettes, Eq2 and wow look like the same color pallets , and even though Vanguard his high res and bumpmaps it has a similar palette as Lotr, the key different is lighting shading and the bump maps from.. Great Sreen shots from all the games

I like Wow's graphics. They're different and I find the style unique but I can easily say that the LORTO graphics are the best looking of them all, by far.
The color palette of my EQ2 screenshots and WoW are only comparable because of the area I took the EQ2 screenshots at. The new EQ2 expansion is really the only place that looks like that. I'll have to see if I can fins a high res picture of the "normal" EQ2 areas.
Of all those screenshots, I find Vanguards to be the more boring and plan, even though I feel my Vanguard screenshots are some of best I've seen.
Alright when Age of Conan comes out, with DX10 I MIGHT ADD!!, it will blow everything away, including LOTOR....ill try to get a screen shot to show you fools

OOOooookkkk. So, how much is Funcom paying you? No really though, Conan looks promising, but then again so did Vanguard and that's been nothing but a disappointment for me. We'll see how Conan turns out, just from screenshots it looks great!
Oh, and Mars505, I found some high res screen shots of EQ2 that I took a while back NOT in the new expansion area.....
I have been looking through this post again comparing all the screens from other games and VAnguard ..
What I see is this , the people in Vanguard screens looks out of place, for instance the girl in the village looks not to belong there, its more like she was placed there after the village was created, she doesnt blend well with the scenery..
In all the other games screenshots (including the WoW one) characthers fit in the scenery wich makes them look better..
Sure, the screen from Vanguard looks nice but it also has this shimmer of fake over it..so to say..

Funny, the Shadowbane fantards said the exact same thing back when. Not surprising, seeing how much alike the two seem to be. AoC.exe error here we come!
Anyway, back on topic, EQ2 vs VG screenshot wankery.
I really, really don't like the humanoid models in either game. They just look utterly hideous due to the art teams trying to making them look too much like an actual human. There's some theories regarding this effect in robotics circles. Basically, the more they try to make the robot look like a real human, the more repulsive, creepy, or otherwise unnerving, people find it. Basically it's because it just looks so fake and alien as it lacks all the little tics, movements, etc that make up our faces. I imagine it's the same thing happening here, as the "unhuman" models just look totally fine. I think it's a bit more prevalent in VG, than EQ2, due to the slightly higher poly count, or higher res textures, or whatever.
I find the armor/weapon textures in EQ2 to be awful. I realize they did it intentionally, because it's all post apocalyptic and whatnot, but ugh. Now, this may have been remedied since I last played about 5 months ago, but last I was in the game, there was very little variety in armors through the different tiers, and a level 10 tank looked pretty much the same as a level 70, other than the shade of rust. With robes, it was a little better, but not by much. So far, I've seen quite a bit of diversity in not only the styles of armor, but colors as well, in VG, and they even managed to avoid ripping off GWAR, like that other game that shall remain nameless.
As far as the scenery, I think the two games fairly similar, give or take some bump mapping, and so forth.
must been beating the virtual boys off with a stick
Guess I'm not the only one who creates female characters in a sad attempt at creating my perfect woman. Then get annoyed when people do hit on me- er, I mean her - no, she's mine!
When I want a single-player story, I'll play a single-player game. When I play an MMO, I want a massively multiplayer world.

Some take pictures of women.. others take pictures of sheep. bit scary
LoL I was just showing the modeling detail in things that aren't overly important to a game but in essence give more life to the over all surrounds of the world ...

Oh, well, I on the other hand make and play female characters because I'm a female!!!! So I don't know what you are implying...
I've never understood why guys play female toons in MMORPG's, but that's just me.....

Whoops, so many screenshots, it gets confusing who posts what. I wasn't paying attention.

You say you play a female character because you're female, while to me, that's not a reason at all. But, there are other threads for this so very dead horse. I was just making a joke, didn't mean to hijack this one.

Here are my two best Vanguard...
My Two Best EQ2 (of the hand full I could find in my files...)
I've been stress testing LOTRO today, so here are my two best screenshots from that...
And just for the heck of it, a screenshot of Wow....

who me ?
LOTRO looks great and far more pleasing to the eye then VG or even EQ2 models.
WoW for me wins though, they are just full of life.

who me ?
WoW >.> Sheep , looks to be balanced / low settings I thought it was vangaurd sheep ,
These 2 simple images , to me really show the contrast between the 2 games.
who me ?

It should be thrown with great force"

Well now you see a wow sheep ? and the contrast >.<
